Let's take a look at some of the odd things that we saw in the AFL Round 13 games. Still plenty of odd things that happened in our game this week. What is your favourite oddity??

The biggest oddity was north winning
eagles are the Roos bunny, 4 out of 5 now is it?
And Richmond
Fax
West coast were robbed
Harley wasn’t playing that’s why
Toby Greene got a laceration from the bump and they used the headgear to hold the bandage on.
Came here to say that
Some weirdly harsh criticisms here. Especially the Hipwood kick to Lohmann. Lohmann points to the hole and Hipwood kicked to it, way higher percentage than bombing it to the pack.
In my opinion... kicking it to a marking contest near the boundary is a safer option. Kicking it towards the corridor can lead to the opposition getting the ball down the other end with an easy transition.
@@holdingthebull he didn't kick anywhere near 'the corridor', as @samuelmcgill said, he kicked it where Lohmann pointed to. Having said that, it wasn't a great kick which unfortunately meant Lohmann had to put his body on the line for it. But the intention was 100% correct. It's a lot harder to score from the boundary than from where Lohmann would have been if the pass had been perfect. And by the way, if he stuffed up the kick toward the boundary it might just have gone out on the full. I agree, I think the Hipwood criticism was harsh. But hey, my opinion is worth the same 2 cents as yours 😉, you did pretty good on the rest of 'em and picked up a subscriber.
Towards the corridor as opposed to towards the boundary sounds like a fair description to me. A risky kick yes. Lohmann pointed to the hole yes. Worth the risk? ....
@@holdingthebullhipwood isn’t a bad teammate as he carried his team to victory 🫠🫠🫠
@@johnpetith5523 I reckon it's worth the risk. If you don't take any risks in a game of footy, you probably won't win against a team that does. Besides, don't take risks in your defensive fifty, by golly, go for the boundary. But kicking into your attacking 50, with a pass he'd probably nail 9 times out of 10 ... yeah, worth the risk 😉
Surely Xerri's chase on Liam Ryan should get a mention
In the blues v bombers game a 50 was given because Martin stuffs up a kick to give the ball back to the Carlton player after a free kick. Then later in the game a Carlton player stuffs up a kick to give the ball back to the bombers player after a free kick, it goes even further away and no 50 paid. I understand free kicks being inconsistent, but at least make the 50s consistent.
With the holding the ball on Elliot Yeo one and Jy Simpkin tackle, I’m a local umpire so I may be wrong but he was payed for holding the ball because did not show an attempt to get rid of the ball. I agree they are very inconsistent the AFL umps on it.
The GWS Hawks free was there and they have actually been paying that free for most of the season. The West coat North free from what I have seen talked about was done for dragging it back in as he was over the ball then goes up to his knees but is definitely harsh as they haven't really paid many of those from what i've seen. The Gc saints free was just BS lmfao
U missed the one in the Richmond game when the forward from Adelaide pants got pulled down
There's been a lot of dacking in the last couple rounds haha
@@FishiestFillet bro he had love heart one on tho💀
Crows had 3 players kick their first goal for the club which was odd. Dropping our number 1 ruckman was odd, recruiting midfielders but then refusing to play them in the midfield is odd, all of this makes extending contract of coach who has never made the finals very odd.
The idea that free kicks can't be called at certain points in the game is silly. The free kick is there and they should call it. It is swings and roundabouts for all teams, sometimes you're on the right side if it but the umpires shouldn't let a free kick go unrewarded just because there is under 3-mins left in the game.
Yeah, the WCE & Suns got done over really bad with those calls, I think the Hawthorn one had a bit of merit to it but Sicily likely put a bit of mayo on the bump.
The Yeo one is literally HTB for dragging it in and not disposing of it, right after Yeo committed an uncalled high tackle too.
West Coast deserve a 50/50 call at home going against them too after Margetts gave them 800 in a row.
Giants & Suns were robbed, Eagles were NOT 🤷
You missed the oddity where Jake Waterman got double dacked then kick a point
Bro is stalking us at school 😂
Elliot Yeo definitely should have been called for holding the ball because he dragged it in and that is the rules
3:25 holding the ball looks fine to me, Hes on the ground and elected to drag the ball in rather than punch it out. Classic dragging the ball in, holding the ball free.
Tsatas for the bombers who shanked the kick is legitimately an afl listed player who cannot kick better than a local footy standard. I've never seen an afl player who got by simply by being good on ground level and having a quick handball with zero kicking ability. You will see a shank every week if he decides to kick it, he had a set shot that was a floater that travelled 35 metres this week too.
Crows fans: "The umpires hate us"
Meanwhile the umpires: Ignore mark keanes blatant throw @ 2:45 20m in front of goal in the 4th.
Not a throw, gets a hand to it. See the 2018 "Goal of the Year" if you want to see a throw
@@zadatakz It's not about getting a hand to it, it's about the fact that he hit the ball with an open hand while in possession. For a handball to be legal it must be a clenched/closed fist.
You're clearly not a footy fan.
Ngl I don’t mind it was nice to see north have a win
so sick of umpires making mistakes and being unfair, need some consistency from them, one pays free keep, one calls holding the ball
Yesssss oddities on a tuesday😁
*tuesday
How did you miss the Guelfi flop in the third? It was massive.
I believe Hipwood also marked his own falcon at one point
How was Pickett Giving The middle finger to the Collingwood player not featured?
kelli kept mixing up cj and chol, and bt did the same for a few of the pies boys.
11:19 Took him 350 games but it was hilarious how he couldn't even concentrate and the bench's reaction was also great
Is Irish flair in the AFL the next Caribbean flair in cricket?
im honestly surprised that the afl have gone to changing the rules as a first priority instead of brining in soft headwear as a compulsory. if you make it part of the uniform then the players dont have a choice. i honestly think it should be introduced league wide and in all formats of community level afl.
Should of seen Green’s head as he came off, didnt look like a big hit but most blood ive seen on the footy feild
Should HAVE, dopey 🤪.
@@jimmyohara2601 thanks for grammar lesson, …nerd.
A weird set of umpiring calls - too eager to pick out a free when play-on would - or ball-up - be more deserved.
Weirdest of all was the Andrew Mack / Max King free against the defender: which I consider a good call, and the AFL goes and disavows it!
In other words, it's a officially a good thing for a defender to manhandle a forward when the ball is 60 metres away?
Who the hell is running the AFL umpiring review? Steven Silvagni?
maybe go and read the afl rules specifically the section on dragging the ball in
Umps gave 3 wins away
Which ones
2wo actually. Giants & Suns were defeated by the Umpire/s, Eagles were legitimately BEATEN by the Kangaroo's 😅👍.
Only one Geelong Sydney oddity, surely could have thrown a couple more in there?
yeh, like how Geelong manages to lose after a 30 point lead.
Can't post oddities if they're not there
@@jimmyrecard6021mate it's Sydney at the SCG, pretty hard to hold a lead for long
The other oddity was the identical mirroring of the same non-call up the other end. Even Stevens I say (though at the time I did almost eat the cushion when the swans touch/cats mark wasn’t called).
Elliot Yeo HTB and Sicily FAD were 100% correct. Dive/drag is a free kick
The hawks got robbed all day and we still won because of that free kick which was the most luckiest thing otherwise it could of been a tie or a giants win so I was extremely happy with that result
No studs in footy boots anymore all molds
Longest oddities video yet? In an 8 game round?
Robbery round
the free kick count of the doggies vs lions game should of been an oddity
You saying of when you mean have is an oddity to the English language.
@@thomes7318 It kinda amazes me that people still say "should of" instead of "should have", like it takes a second of thinking to realise it's wrong 😂
Not really an oddity when the dogs keep giving away the freekicks
Hey hey, you too 3. I can't fathom how so many can't distinguish nor realise it is - Should Have.
Gee Zeus Jesus christ 🤪.
@@jimmyohara2601 im dyslexic
Umpires aren’t humans 😂
Not everything is something to do with Ireland
This comment does. 😊
@@AnthonyLeighDunstan 🤣🤣 that’s a real knee slapper
@@InnocentComeng I’m a dad. What can I say. 😊👍🏻
I have no idea why people are getting angry at the Sicily downfield free when it gets paid like almost every game.
l neale kicked the ball after the siren went i disagree that that was a goal
What does the term coach killer mean?
When a player does something so inept it elevates the coach’s stress level to deadly heights. Heartache or brain aneurysm are two potential risks. 😂
@@AnthonyLeighDunstan Ah ok that makes perfect sense! Thanks mate :)
I have a opinion as a dees fan we need a fresh coach 10000% do you agree
L crows 😂
Fym hipwood isnt a good teammate, he kicked 6 goals for the team !
sicily very soft and the even if the free is there, shouldnt it have gone back to sicily because it went on the full?
also do u think he called yeo htb to make up for missed high?
knocked out in the tackle IS AND NEVER has been holding the ball don't comment on something you don't know the rule and the yeo one dragged it in correct call silcy one text book down field
Ok kid
So the suns were supposed to win
Probably
West Coast Supporter here... Just one more reason to hate umpires. That wasn't a difficult call, that was pure illogical dog shit
womp womp bud
It was rough as guts but only hurt because we came back from 2-15 which is fucking horrendous
Roos wanted it more
I hope you were one of the eagle wankers at the pub I was at, fucking hilarious after the siren, no more wooping and hollering like animals when they hit the lead, just silence and the sound of blubbering, and foot stomping like a little kid that dropped his lollie in dog shit.
BTW the head high and in the back from yo was ok was it? fucking bunnies
3:25 this free kick was correct - he picked up the ball and both his knees were on the ground. Instead of disposing, he goes to stand up - that's your prior.
Giants & Suns were robbed, Eagles were NOT robbed at all 🤷.
hey mate stop hanging shit on melbourne and saying maynard was a good hit honesly mate dont congratulate afls villian
