El ganador de la contrarreloj individual de la etapa 8 fue Remco Evenepoel de Bélgica.
Evenepoel, oriundo de la ciudad de Aalst en la provincia de Oost-Vlaanderen, superó por 3 segundos al galés Geraint Thomas, ganador de la edición 2018 del Tour de Francia, parando el cronómetro en un tiempo de 28 minutos y 26 segundos para los 25,6 kilómetros de la Difícil Prueba Contra el Reloj.
Como nota interesante, la estrella flamenca de 22 años comenzó su vida como un atleta muy joven, como jugador de fútbol, ​​uniéndose a la Academia Juvenil del reverenciado equipo belga Anderlecht a la edad de 5 años, cuando tenía 11 años se unió a la Academia Juvenil del potentisimo equipo holandés PSV Eindhoven. También jugó para la seleccion nacional sub-16 de Bélgica.

The winner of the Individual Time Trial on Stage 8 was Remco Evenepoel from Belgium.
Evenepoel a native of the City of Aalst, in the Province of Oost-Vlaanderen, got the best out of Geraint Thomas from Wales, the winner of the 2018 Edition the Tour de France by 3 seconds, stopping the chronometer in a time 28 minutes and 26 seconds for the 25.6 kilometer Tough Test Against the Clock.
As an interesting note, the 22-year-old Flemish Star started life as a very young athlete, as a soccer player, joining the Youth Academy of revered Belgian team Anderlecht at the age of 5, when he was 11 he joined the Youth Academy of Dutch Powerhouse Team PSV Eindhoven.
