To expand on what I said on that one video of yours about TBR for this new year, I also plan to read more of Arthur Hailey's novels (a few I'm interested in include In High Places from 1962, Airport from 1968, The Moneychangers from 1975, and Overload from 1979 [they may be pretty long books, but the only one of his I have actually completed, that being Hotel from 1965, proves, IMO, that he could very well tell a story]).
I also started reading via audiobooks and it has CHANGED MY LIFE. I used to think that they weren’t for me bc my mind would drift, but I got the hang of it and now I am so so so happy bc I can READ while doing other things!! Like duh 😂 Cleaning is easier, driving is easier, and most of all I have discovered adult coloring and I love to read while coloring. I don’t have to pick between my 2 favorite hobbies! 🤓
that's awesome!!! so glad you could get the hang of it and now enjoy both hobbies! i love coloring too so i'm gonna try to listen to audibooks while doing it!
Can I just say how much i appreciate your reading goal being realistic, your ratings being realistic. I follow the GR rating system so my average rating is usually 3 or under. I did manage to listen to an audiobook this year, from start to finish. I still cant do it while multitasking, but who knows, maybe in 2025.
thank you! i really try to set realistic goals, it's easier to accomplish that way and makes me feel less overwhelmed! Yes I still struggle a little bit with multitasking with audiobooks but I feel like it will get better the more I do it! Good luck with your reading in 2025!
I read 75 books. My goal was 50 on Goodreads. It’s 50 again this year. My favorite three genres/subgenres are thrillers, fantasy romance and classics. But I’m going to try and also get back into contemporary romance too. Mostly MC, dark, angsty and Mafia romances. I’m not really into romcoms but I might read one or two. lol It depends. I do want to read more Ali Hazelwood. I read her Christmas short story and really enjoyed it. And want to continue Bride. And then check out her other books. I do want to read some longer classics that the romance is the plot of the book. I read a ton of non-romance classics and really enjoyed them. I also have some rereads I want to read. Jane Eyre (which I said I would reread every year these past three years and haven’t done it yet), and The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George. I also have a few nonfiction books I want to continue reading also. So it’s also a mishmash of different things I want to read this year. I also want to update my Shorts on here and my TikTok more. I was really consistent up until maybe 3-4 months ago. lol I do want to fix that.
