Ok , I have to comment again !! I learned my lesson when I let shortbread cool all night before trying to cut into pieces. Lol. I’ll never do that again.
Another great kitchen cooking video from you. Thank you. Homemade candy and other items from the kitchen always make such a great and personal gift. I did a search for the book in Google and came up with several dealers who have used copies from 1966. The publisher for one is listed as Gramercy Press, NYC, and another as Ward Ritchie Press, which was in California. I mention this only in that publishers/editors of cookbooks in the USA in those days would print recipes with American styled measurements. These days, cookbooks being published often list ingredients with both metric weight and American measure.
Happy Sunday Dale, Thanks for this fun video- you got a chance to apply your muscle power to the candy, LOL. I wanted to ask you, on 12/21/20 there will appear in the evening sky the Christmas Star. It is a rare event- everyone on the face of the earth will be able to see it ! ! It is actually Saturn and Jupiter very close together, with Saturn being the brighter of the two. With your drone you could get EPIC VIDEO of this rare event. 12/21/20 is the winter solstice, the darkest night of the year ! This Christmas Star can be seen about 45 minutes after sunset in the West, Southwest horizon. I really hope it is possible for you to put the drone up and video this, it should be SPECTACULAR . 💚💛💙💜 Thanks again for this toffee video. God Bless.
@@DaleCalderCampobello Hi Dale-- based on various sources, this 12/21/20 conjunction will be the closest and brightest encounter in 400 years ( last was in 1623 ) ! ! It will appear in the southwest horizon between 5 and 6 pm central standard time. Since it is near the horizon I thought the drone could get an unobstructed view. It could be pretty awesome. I look forward to seeing your video if you decide try filming it. Take care. Bye :)
Dale Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Angel I’m thankful for your channel as I get alittle homesick here from time to time and your videos bring me back home for the time that I watch You seem like an old friend to me by now Cheers brother
So glad you enjoy the book! The toffee recipe looks quite yummy! Looking forward to some other 'treasures' from the book you'll bring to life! Happy Holidays, Dale, from NH! 🌲🌲😊
That’s a great gift. Very smart of you to think to heat the toffee back up a bit to cut.
Yes that worked and over time it got softer and easier to eat.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND ANGEL 👍 👍 LOVE TOFFEE 👍👍
Same to you! Theresa.

That's the type of toffee that usually comes with a little metal hammer in the box so you can have at it!
Could have used that for sure.

Yummmmm Dale!
Thank you .

LOL
Nice to get the book. I would have cut it with ta hammer lol Good idea to warm it back up.Looks very nice.
I think that is a good idea it is very solid stuff.
Try using the oil spray for your container when you measure molasses and corn syrup. Works great
Great tip!
Dale I hope you are having a good holiday season despite Covid social distancing. Please pet Angel for me
Thank you Ginger same to you .
Nice almond toffee
Thank you 😋
Nice scottish cook book
Thank you
And...just made a double batch of the nut brittle from last year’s sharing 🤗😉
I just used peanuts this year but it is very good eating.
Dale, looks like a big winter storm could be headed your way. Can we expect a snowstorm at the cabin soon?
We are supposed to get some snow but it looks like most of it will miss us.
Dale, A cup is a cup. The difference comes in at a pint. US= 2 cups, Imp = 2.5 cups (160 oz vs 20)
Thank you .
After its cooled, leave it in the pan and slam it down on the counter. It will crack in pieces. That’s how you cut it. Lol.....🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the tip LOL
Here its been mild also but tomorrow 12/16 they R saying southern New England 1 to 2 feet by Thursday noon .
Looks like this snow will mostly miss us but it is already -11C.
Got any snow yet sir?
No and it has been very mild. Due to get a lot colder tomorrow night though .
@@DaleCalderCampobello hopefully a snowy cabin visit in the near future
I think you are just to shatter it into to pieces. Still good for you -you made it look nice.
Good point!
