What a pity not more of GM Mitchell audiobooks. And that laugh - I love it! Mrs B would be my new BBF. Such superb arrogance! Huge thanks for the upload
I was so happy to find this! Such a killer combination of great writing, production and acting - Gladys Mitchell, Elizabeth Proud, and Mary Wimbush. I saw the TV version with Diana Rigg and was disappointed; it was so far altered from the original that it hardly made sense, a real waste of La Rigg’s talent. Thanks very much for posting it 😊.
OMG that laugh is bonkers! Like a demented Woody Woodpecker. Nearly jumped out of my skin every time. Took me a while to figure out which character it belonged to, given the various interior monologues/shifting narrators, and the way it would erupt out of nowhere.
This was excellent! I don't usually like Dame Bradley as a character and here I really disliked the raucous laughter. However the acting is wonderful, and once when it went to a "musical interlude" I had to check the time bar because I really didn't want the play to be over! Thank you very much.
I was sad Mary Wimbush only played her twice. This was my first introduction to the Dame Bradley character and no one else can truly make her as likeable and enjoyable.
I’m enjoying it, but find Mary Wimbush’s extended smokers cough maniacal laugh very annoying and completely unnecessary. The rest of the cast are brilliant. 😍
Excellent, my favourite detective series. I love Mrs Bradley laugh.
Glad you enjoy it...
Excellent, love these series, that laugh 😂😂💐

@gilllongano4765 you're right it's a shame there aren't more of these gems, but at least we have that laugh lol...
Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Loved that laugh, it really made the play.
Loved this story! I've enjoyed Gladys Mitchell books for years, and this radio play captured the book wonderfully.
Glad you enjoyed it, definitely one of my favourites..
I am joining the club of those who enjoyed this. I am a fan of Leslie Phillips and the rest of the cast are great 👍. 🐈⬛😊
Another great play ! Mary Wimbush makes the best Mrs Bradley. Thank you for sharing .
Glad you enjoyed it...
Thats so true Mary wimbush captures her like no one
A great listen! Thank you x
Another entertaining drama. Thanks very much, Ade.

You're right the TV version was nothing like this production..glad you found it...
I was opposite! lol I didn’t want to watch because of the laugh, but TV didn’t add that. I love Diana Rigg!
Fabulously acted out story ! Thank you 😊
Fantastic. 😀 Some people will not understand this style of drama but if you do, it is a gem.
i love this play 🎭,,,thank you

That laugh bothers me too!! Besides that good play!! No background noise and clear voices!
Fairly entertaining, those upper-middle class stereotypes are always such fun.
Oh I love Mary Wimbush !My friend Marjory used to laugh just like that.
Wow! Your friend must have been quite a character!
@@MsDormyhello I just found this again now ! She’s been dead for years ( aged 80) and I miss her still. She was a right madam 😂😂
That laugh...hilarious !

Chuffed to bits - I sub’d & lik’d on this one. Spledaddyo!
Thanks very much glad you enjoyed it...
Very good 😁
That asthmatic laugh!
Diana Rigg was a great Mrs Bradley
She was far too attractive to be Mrs Bradley
No she wasn't !
That's Is your opinion
Great cast here . Michael Cochrane plays the part of Bertie.
Unfortunately h
...his promising career came to a
rather sad end . He's been in the
Archers for the last 10 years....
@@2msvalkyrie529 However, he's doing sterling work at the moment in Raffles as "Bunny", on Radio 4 Extra.
Yes. Brilliant , stylish stories.
good fun
Its Leslie Phillips not Lesley.
Just changed it, thanks for the feedback...
Ding Dong !
Not bad
Shut that screaming woman up

B
Omg how ridiculously annoying is her laugh. And so out of place Can’t handle it. Can’t listen
rubbish, ridiculous laughing
Unusual for someone to dislike this but I know what you mean about the laugh..
I love it just because of the laugh !!
I have come across a person who had that same laugh. Now I am searching my brain to place who that was. 🤣
@@mrscpc1918 Same here ! Every time I heard it, I laughed out loud! ( My co worker's found it disconcerting which made me laugh harder) 😂😂😂
It's exactly as described in the books. Mrs Bradley really is an appalling character, but such fun.
Dreadful! Overacted and boisterous characters.
