Adam And The Ants - Jubilee - Plastic Surgery 12.10.22 12.10.22 poodle party came a close second, then. the dickies. the music's a bit dark for late nights in a one bulb room listening to angsty kids take umbrage with art school.
‘The day I met god’ & ‘Never trust a man with egg on his face’ are top notch, but I’ve got to agree that this is out on its own as the best song that they did.
I’ve got the original VHS video of this film somewhere, apparently it’s quite rare. I’ve not watched it for ages but love seeing the young punk Toyah every time i do 😆
Going to see Adam ant in June 7th time at leicester de mont fort hall.im a big sex pistol collector seen them 5 times and met glen and John.but I'm also a adan and the ant adam ant collector I have jubilee soundtrack first heard this track mid 1980s first became a big afam fan 1980 first track was dog eat dog. I used to think first song was young parisians but both deucscher girls and plastic surgery were first two released but again these did come out on single 1982 but you could get them if you bought jubilee. Young parisians was re realised dec 1980 reaching 9 in the charts this was on the bside of deucscher girls which reached no 13 in charts I never heard plastic surgery until 1980s mid liked the track
I’ve met John,Steve,Glen & Paul twice. Glen was a bit quiet, Steve and Paul are great down to earth blokes who had time for anyone (they both recognised me the 2nd time). But both times I met John it was like 2 different people, one time he was just as you’d expect (opinionated but in a good way) and the other time i’m pretty certain he was pissed and was pretty quiet apart from the occasional outburst (nothing bad, just him being him). I liked them all but Paul & Steve were/are really cool.
True story: around this time Adam And The Ants were booked into a club on Tottenham Court called The Milky Way that I worked in. The band arrived but the singer was nowhere to be seen. He finally comes in with two punk girls looking like death warmed over. It turned out that he had stomach flu. He puked all over the dressing room. He then turned on a stove that was in the room and puked all over the burners. My girlfriend at the time went over and punched him in the stomach. He then puked all over her head and spoiled her mohawk. Myself and one of the bouncers then picked him up and took him outside. The bouncer then began twirling him around over his head and then threw him into a dumpster. In the meantime his vomit caught on fire on the stove. The whole place burned down to the ground. The owner opened up a new club a week later called The Lowly Worm and Adam And The Ants were permanently banned.
“you’ve got a face like a labrador” is the best opening line to a song ever
simon joseph but labradors are cute 😳🤦🏼♀️🦮🦮🦮🐕🦺🐕🦺
Totally agree with you, and the beat is so dark and dangerous I love it !! 😍🇬🇧🐜💙

Brilliant guitar solo!
Best song this guy ever did.
Charles U Farley up there, the 1978 peel session with physical and Cleopatra is my favourite.
+Charles U Farley Actually i understand you. Yeah. Adam was boyhood hero early 80s for me.

@@Kelly14UK you should’ve known him in the 70’s on the original punk scene, it was fkn great.
@@deanandrew3702 Only 9 in '77 and totally unaware of punk till '79. As a teenager i got into it. Big Damned fan too.
Early Ants really was the business
Before the Ants sacked Adam, and he formed a new band.
These early days were amazing! Tom Edwards (GRHS) somehow knew every single note. I got to see this live, and I'm so glad.
I binged listening to this tune when i got the album in the 80s
I really love this song xx I can't stop listening to it xx
Watched this for the very first time last night and was blown away !!!
What a song..absolutely love it.
Adam and the ants. One and only
This was such a good movie

It’s a terrible movie. This is a phenomenal song though.
one of the finest punk guitar solos ever

Adam never wanted this ep released, so it’ll never be available on Spotify, unfortunately.

Sorry a few spelling mistakes type to fast adam and the ants cool and adam ant solo love all his songs

See Adam bundles of times in the late 70s he was a better dancer than Michael Jackson over a short distance
Michael Jackson was hugely influenced by Adam, that’s how he got the Motown 25 (I think that’s the name😂) gig.
How he ever got from this to Prince Charming Shit fuck knows
In hindsight all of that stand & deliver rubbish could’ve been an early symptom of his bipolar 😆
Prince Charming is a phenomenal new wave album, might not be as good as Kings or Dirk, but it’s an extremely groundbreaking and unique record.
