Used to stay in Harwich/Chatham late 70's early 80's. Loved the Chatham Squire. Short story long: befriended a doorman at the Squire, he told my friends and I during the summer "if the line is long go around to the back entrance and get right in." Fast foward 20 years. I was on a tour snorkle diving boat in Maui. Kept on looking at the captain thinking "I know that guy" near the end of the excursion i got the courage say I know from somewhere. Turns out he was the doorman at the Squire. 😮 He was going to return to Chatham because the educational system in Maui was rather weak for his kids
Chatham: A very special town, place etc, always in/ on/ my mind as it were,in good times/ memories. Prior to the 1940's there may, have been some family activity, but certainly the war years onwards up thru early 2000's,some family acres on Sears Point/ Oyster River, were: The locality
Been going to Chatham since 1957. Love it!
We loved our trip there, especially the bookstore!
