Thanks Paul. It’s definitely confidence I need and I’m really looking forward to getting to grips with this. I’m also looking forward to eating the fish! Thanks for watching
hi paul, nice to see you out again , I tried that but it wasn't for me. Went on the river couple of days ago and only saw 3 rises so put on a fly I had simply made up the day before and took all 3 fish with it around 1lb each so making some more of that fly, it is now called the dun yellow. I still can’t cast a fly on my river with the rains we’ve been having. I can see me losing more money on reservoir fishing until I can! Always nice to catch on your own tied flies though.
yes as chris says 8 and 10lb leaders is the norm on these places which being mainly a coarse fishermen was a shock to me when i started.also hook choice, had many of my own tied buzzers straightened on the take tied on hooks i used to catch carp.
A few members fron the Crediton club rave about the fishing on Wimbleball, definitely worth another go Paul. Don't fish too light as there are some big powerful fish in there.
Thanks for watching Chris! It’s a beautiful water and there were fish right in front of me. The brown I caught was an incredible fight, just a shame I didn’t get the footage. I’ll be back there soon with a new rod and line
What time of year were you fishing there, your in bessoms bay, the shallowiest part of the lake. Really good april may time and then latter in the year. Gets deeper either side of the bridge where yhe fish find solice from the sun Then ruggs is opposite you a fantastic early and end of the year area. Wimbleball is one of my favourite reservoirs
You’ll learn and gain confidence each time you go Paul. Not fished there myself yet.

Hi. It was May. I’m getting more confident on reservoirs and in fishing that’s a huge part of it. Thanks for watching
Other side of the lake facing the wind would have been way better.
You’re absolutely right. I’m learning when it comes to reservoirs
