I owned an Epson 800 and once the print head clogged I couldn't unclog it. Epson was going to charge me over $400 to replace the head and its a heavy printer to ship anywhere. I called Canon told them my story and they gave me $250 off their PR-10 and I love it. You can easily take out the print head and clean it yourself and worse case replace it with a new one. I will never own an Epson printer again! The prints are beautiful and I am glad you chose it as the #1 art printer!

awesome review! i have a couple questions, for the first 2 high end printers, which is best for black & white prints? i used to have canon printers many years ago, i’ve found that overall they’ve got a hint of blue/cold look & not rich black as i would have liked. have they improved this since? my second question, since we don’t print as often what it’s like with printer’s head? will it dry out & use a lot of inks to clean up the heads still as theirs old days printers? thanking you in advance.
Thanks for this video - it was very useful! I was wondering what you think of the Canon Endure printer? It has the same ink system as the Epson Expression Eco-tank, but I was wondering if the photo quality is any good? The Epson Expression looks great with the combo of high quality pictures and ink saving capabilities.
I don't need anything too fancy. I need a sharp, high quality color printer that allows me to quickly make prints so I can tape them to the wall and hash out my ideas. Are there any really good LED printers and/or laser printers for artists and graphic designers? I'm leaning more towards laser than ink. I wish there was a laser printer that printed more than just four colors.
Before you buy an Epson, check what the image area actually is. I used to have an Epson advertised as 17x22 inch, but it would only able to print a 13x19 inch area on that bigger paper.
Which printer was it? I’ve not seen one that advertised the incorrect sizing, and I’ve had several Epsons over the past ten years, all of which printed to spec.
Hello! I love the information, one thing I can't find is the lightfastness of the epson ecotank 7750. I heard some earlier versions faded relatively fast? I would love to puchase this printer (ior the newest model), but only if it has a decent lightfastness / print permanence :)
Hello, the printers your suggesting are small. Can you give recommendations for printers that print out sizes like 16 x 20 18 x 24 24 x 36 anybody can comment, i just need direction
So I'm planning to make stickers and I have everything BUT the right printer. I chosen a simple printer (Canon Pixma MG3600) and tried it out. The results...Heart wrenching 😩. No matter the res., It still comes out "washed out" and I wouldn't want to A. buy more ink for something like that and B. Sell that to consumers. My roommate had an ENVY printer which worked better than what I have now. Honestly, I just want a printer to be able to print out clean stickers and other illustrations.
Helpful reviews, thanks! I must admit, I struggle to trust Canon printers ever since the printhead errors / defects / crippleware that affected so many Pixma printers in the last decade (error B200 and U052). An issue that Canon never owned up to or officially fixed (settling the 2015 class action lawsuit with a $75 credit doesn't count as a fix or even an apology). I'm not bitter but genuinely unsure what reassurance Canon ever offered that we can now trust their workmanship and not have to worry about such frequent breakdowns. To those who have owned and operated these newer Canon printers beyond the 1 year warranty: is our printer still going strong? Any fatal errors?
Mine broke for no reason:( it kept giving me errors and I fixed those but then one day it stopped turning on, I bought a replacement for the cable and everything but it still didn't work
Hello Canwr36 Thank you so much! I Always strive to make well researched content that is valuable. Im very glad you enjoyed the video :) Good luck In life. Stay safe. and Have a nice day. ;)
Thank you for posting this. A year(ish) later, it is coming in handy as I'm having to return a Canon Pixma series just 6 days before my sticker shop opens EEEEK
There was a firmware update last year for the canon pro 1000 and you can now print up to 17"x48" with paper cut from a roll. It should be number 1 on your list.
Great video! Thank you so much for making this huge review... Half of those printers are impossible to find in my country :( I'm not sure if they are coming with a different name / number... sometimes they do this. But I'm pretty sure I can find a Canon PIXMA PRO-100 A3+ here ♥
Hello there Ruth Brooks! I Answered your Other comment, but as for Which printer would you use to Mass produce greeting cards. Hmm Here are a few articles that may help you out find exactly what you need! Im sorry for not giving you the answer directly, But I'd prefer to send you where I got the answer from to give them the credit. www.redrivercatalog.com/infocenter/tips/best-inkjet-printers-for-greeting-card-printing.html community.etsy.com/t5/Creative-Process/Best-Printer-for-Greeting-Cards/td-p/79671 graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/30088/what-type-of-printer-do-you-recommend-for-printing-greeting-cards www.dyesubforum.co.uk/vbforum/showthread.php?14070-Greeting-cards-and-posters-which-printer-and-paper-do-you-use If you take a look at these resources Im sure you'll get to the answer you need. But the Canon Pro-100 seems to be a good option. Good luck! Have a nice day! I also replied to your other comment so check it out.
Hi Luigi, Liked and followed. Quick question - I have recently bought a drone and intend to make canvas prints of the local scenery/coastline. Would the pixma ip8750 be a good place to start? And what would be a good type of canvas to use? Thanks
Thanks für this really Good Video :) i am hesitating between the Canon PIXMA pro 10 and the epson EcoTank 7750 🙈 do you know if the EcoTank can also Print thicker paper? I want to Print my aquarelles on Minimum ~250-300g, so what do you think is better? Thank you :)
Okay so I have done a lot of searching and found what you need. On Epson's Italian website the maximum paper weight the ET 7750 can handle is 300 gsm So as long as you are not exceeding 300gsm you should be good. Otherwise the Canon-10 is a safer option for thicker papers and is known to print on canvas, and other thick papers. On Canon’s PRO 100 (The same as Canon 10, but Dye based option) manual they mention this: manual feed tray: From 4 to 23.6 mil (0.1 to 0.6 mm) (up to 93 lb (350 g /m)) Meaning they allow up to 350gsm on the manual feeder. So for more versatility of art papers the canon would be a good option. For More Ink, and less refilling the ET-7750 is the better choice. As long as you don’t go over 300 you should be fine with the ET-7750. And keep in mind, manufacurers will usually mention a Value Below their capability, so they are on the safe side. So you might be able to exceed their limits if you are lucky. However, The canon pro 10 is well known to handle very versatile paper. Good luck. I hope I cleared things out a little. Have a nice day.
Luigi's Product Reviews thank you so much for this detailed answer! It was very helpful. It is still hard to decide haha 🙈 on the ONE hand i think the Canon is the safer Option, but i can‘t ignore the big pro of the Eco Tank haha.
Yes, the eco tank is very enticing. Then the canon pro produces epic prints. Definitely confusing. Id say just flip a coin, and save yourself all the overthinking 😂 I wish you the best of luck.
Hey so I just wanted to give you a little of my own experience with the Epson EcoTank printer! I’ve had mine for 2 years and it works fairly well as long as I maintain it and clean it regularly. Sometimes the printer heads misalign (causing skips in the image and lines across the print job), and I have to go into settings and go through the realignment process before and/or after each print session. The colors are vivid and beautiful but I’ve struggled with the settings of the printer misreading blacks. Thick card stock goes through as long as I feed one at a time and keep it pressed along the back of the paper feeder. Overall: it has helped me print hundreds of prints, documents, and stickers, but lately the constant realignment and color skipping is making me look for an upgrade that will make my needs more efficient. Hope that helps!
First of great detail review. My question is Which of these are best for glossy sticker label paper printing size 11x16” inches. Or if even posible which will print directly on Mylar paper
can these printers be used to print documents and stuff like that as well, or are they specifically for photos and prints?? I am looking for a printer to do both well
My HP is a pos. I can’t find ink for it that is not some secondary questionable supplier that are shady. Come spring I’m going to drop it on the driveway. Useless.
the print for me is pretty decent BUT OMFG hp inks are just too expensive and so small (well atleast on my version of one of their printers) i had to constantly buy new cartridges and had to find them in different places everytime, also the amount of waste just from the cartridge box is insane and so is the throwing of the dried up/finished ones AND TRIED EVERYTHING BUT I JUST CAN’T SEEM TO REFILL THEM. Okay das all lmaoo
Mmmmm I guess it depends on your budget + on the quality you want. If you want Gallery-like Quality you would want the Pixma pro 10 If you want a budget option the Pixma IP8720 should do the job. But if you intend on selling anything from the printer the Pixma Pro 10 is definitely the way to go.
Hello there Abhinav Singh! Thanks, Glad you enjoyed! Ahhh Im glad you asked! For printing on canvas paper I have a full video about the best printers for printing on Canvas! Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/pjNqU3U3VBk/v-deo.html Hope that helped! Have a nice day!
This video was so helpful! Just regarding the Epson et-7750; do you have any further details on this printer? Will it print borderless and what weight of paper will it print on? I need a printer to print vector imagery. I would like to use standard paper between 120gsm - 350gsm, not photographic paper. I need the prints to be sharp and colours to be vivid. Is this printer suitable for my needs? Thanks in advance.
Also, just regarding the Canon in 3rd place; the machine is first listed as Canon IPX8720 but then later in the video, a screenshot of the printer appears with a slightly different model code - PIXMA iP8720. Which one is correct? I have been unable to find either of these model codes but was able to find a Canon Pixma iP8750, would this be the model up?
Hi Luigi....Can you please tell me if the Epson ET-7750 you have in 2nd place uses pigmented inks in the ink tanks? I am wanting to make giclee prints for my watercolors. :) thank you!
Would these printers work on heat transfer paper to put art prints on shirts? I’m really struggling with finding a printer that will print quality artwork for prints but also for nice t-shirts and apparel. Great video btw!
heaven-leigh dakartis I think it really just depends on the paper. I’m still looking into it, but I think that if you were to use one of these high-quality printers with the specific heat transfer paper, the print would be high quality because of the actual printer and not the paper.
Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone has experience/recommendations with printing stickers. I am going back and forth between a canon (not sure which one yet any recommendations) and an eco tank from epson. The eco tank will save me money due to using less ink BUT I have read/heard that the printer dies off after a couple of years ... unless I clean and keep up with it (not even sure what they mean by this tbh).
Hey, I know this is super late, But i will try make a video on printing Stickers soon, So stay updated. Il research the topic well, and write a blog post about it + video.
Hey Luigi, would you say the quality of the art print for Epson Expression Premium ET-7750 EcoTank All-in-One Printer would be ok to sell? I am a beginner artist and looking to make prints of my paintings. What do you think? Thank you in Advance. And thank you for the information above also. God Bless. Lee.
Hello there Lee Murdoch! It would definitely be high enough to sell! It has Great overall quality! The main lacking thing when you compare this to the pricier options is Production speed + Reliability. But if you are starting out I think the ET 7750 is a Great overall printer that will give you professional quality prints at lower production costs! Then later on you could upgrade to something else, but i think it will definitely give you superb printing quality! Will you be printing on canvas? Or a variety of different types of media and nothing specific? Good luck! Have a nice day!
Thank you Luigi, I'm thinking mainly archival Card. However, it is only the beginning so i am really not sure. I have a lot of testing to do. :D Thank you again for sharing your wisdom. I am so grateful. You have a lovely day also. Blessings.
hey Luigi, Can I use Epson expression ET-7750 to print on canvas ? And does it have scanner with it ? If it does have then please give me details about it. Actually I'm looking for printer+scanner to scan my artworks and for printing them and I'm confused ... should I buy all in one or buy them separately? What will be more affordable? 1- Epson surecolor P800 inkjet printer 2- Epson perfection V600 photo scanner 3- Epson surecolor P600 printer 4- Epson expression premium ET-7750 eco tank all in one printer 5- Epson surecolor P600 printer 6- Cannon IP8720 inkjet printer Please suggest me. Thank you
Great vid! Can I ask if illustrated art prints on the Epson 7750 are high enough quality to sell, as good as the pigment printers you ranked lower than the 7750? I was told the eco tanks were dye not pigment based and that dye ink prints come out less vibrant and fade faster? I’m still in the printer research stage and was more or less set on the 7750 until I learned about the ink differences and without being able to test before I buy I’m hesitating. Any information anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, This video is so helpful. I want to invest in a printer for making art prints of my illustrations. When I research getting products printed by print companys they cost allot and I am looking at doing the printing myself. Thanks for making this video. Is the Cannon pro 10 best for art prints? What kind of paper would you recommend for matte prints?
I use the Pixma Pro 10 for my art prints - it's fantastic! I get my paper from Red River, they have excellent paper of all different kinds, as well as the icc profiles for each.
Hello again! Also I would like to know what is the best kind of computer type to use for greeting card making and selling, thank you, thank you!!! And of course I will need the printer that would well with this craft. THANKS LUIGI !!!
Hello Ruth Brooks! Sorry I am confused, Are you looking to buy a laptop / computer? Are you willing to buy a desktop / home computer? Or a laptop? Il try my best to help you out, awaiting for your response. But please know, It is a pretty complicated topic and we would probably have to do some extra replies on here to get to the final answers. Awaiting your response. Have a nice day!
Hello there! Laser printers are really good for High-speed printing, but for accurate photos, and good colors I would recommend you stay away from laser printers. They also sometimes damage some Art-papers due to the heat. But the main Issue is they won't work best with most Art-papers and for Gallery-quality Photos. If you want high-speed printing, and don't care too much about the best quality possible, then a Laser printer would be an option you would want to go for! Laser printers are also much cheaper, hence the lower quality. which makes them great for Quick and Bulk printing. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask! Have a nice day!
Laser printers are a good option for specific projects - i.e Toner transfer, so are worth considering for creating artwork on to a substrate - one of my colleagues' nieces uses one for putting her designs on to hand made furniture. However for printing artwork for sale an inkjet is the best option. If you have questions on the Canon range, Canon does have a Live Chat service available at - www.canon.co.uk/canonlive/live-chat/?
What is the difference between using a ink jet and a laser printer? Do ink jets still smudge and run if they get wet? I ask this because I am printing children’s books, and my old laser is dying. I need good resolution and durability of both the printer and what is printed.
Not sure if I'll get a response since this video is months old. Considering that I use the Pixma pro 10, can I use it for regular printing? (essay papers, resume etc.) or would that waste the potential for it? I live with my sister and she and I are looking for a single printer that adjusts for both of our needs!
Hello there D Chrisomo! Yes you can use the Pixma Pro 10 for regular printing. But it would probably be a good waste of expensive ink. Maybe you should Get a Monochrome Laser printer, or a Cheapo printer to get the job done! Laser printers will be cheaper overall than a pigment or Dye based ink printer. and will allow for speedy printing, and cheap printing. Good luck! Have a nice day! IF you have any other questions don't hesitate
Luigi's Product Reviews Thankyou for your response! So what if I actually need the pixma pro for artist needs? Or would it just be better to buy two printers, one for regular printing and pixma for art prints?
@@tina.n Hello D Chrisomo! Honestly you could still use the Pixma 10 for regular prints, but as I said you would pay a ton for the ink, and it's not worth wasting High quality ink on regular prints You can get a cheapo printer for regular prints, or a laser printer that will allow for the biggest savings in the long-run. There are many cheap printers out there for daily printing that will even do 3 - in - 1 printing. (Copying, printing, faxing) So yea. You can use the Pixma 10 for regular prints. But you would be using Expensive ink, and you would be using expensive machinery for cheap work. Personally I wouldn't do that. I'd prefer to use a cheapo printer for printing school work/ other papers. And ofcourse as with anything in life, These things don't last for ever. I would try my best to only use the pixma for art to prolong its art printing life. I hope my answer was helpful. Good luck! Have a nice day!
Thanks for making such an in-depth video. Some of the ones listed are not available here. The ones that keeps appearing is the Canon Pro 100, which you said was dye based. :/. And the Epson Photo HD 15000, which reviewers said it was hard to set up. I'm just getting started with art prints, so I need a lower budget one. Do you have reviews for that?
What about printing in miniature? I need to take original images and reduce to doll house size. My old printer did that easily but the new printers with small screens are too difficult to navigate. can you recommend a simple printer for me?
For art print that has alot of color dodge effects on it (which usually dies on prints) which printer would you recommend, I'm also looking for printing on Thicker papers.
Hello there! I am sorry my friend, I haven't done much research about A1 Size printers. Here is a List I found online. www.designsupply.co.uk/product-category/large-format-cad/a1-cad-printers/?gclid=CjwKCAjw2uf2BRBpEiwA31VZj3CxxeMdg-pMvuBnCHYx_7F94_MgUON61qyrNhobn_BXd2exg_v3ixoCkSAQAvD_BwE But you will probably want to do some more research, I wish I could help you more. But I'm not comfortable giving you advice, As i would usually do Many hours of research and would write a blog post, and only then would I make a video about the products. It also seems to be harder to find information about the Bigger Large format printers. Good luck though! Have a nice day!
Which of these would allow me to sell my art as Giclee or Archival prints? The three main features I'm looking for are: ability to print on archival, %100 cotton or rag, acid free paper, pigment based and prints no less than 300 dpi images well. I appreciate any direction you can give. Thanks so much! I should add it also needs to be compatible with Apple - I have an imac and ipad. I know some printers may not work well with certain OS.
I really need to be able to print my art, but need pigment based, for labels I want to make also. I’ve looked at so many and they are not clear really 🤷🏻♀️
Too bad I did not get this vid two years ago, but Im happy with my brother T710w printer it gets the job done, a scanner and the quality is not bad since I do animation I scan some drawings and put them in the animation program and I never work beyond a4 size.
Stuck between the Epson expression with 9 colors & 2880 x 1440 DPI & Canon IP with 6 colors yet 9600 x 2400 DPI...? Which one is more important for black & white sketchings that may need to be printed in color... the DPI or the amount of colors?
Hello there! The Epson WF-7720 seems to be a solid printer. But it seems to be better suited for business use, Printing and scanning things/ copying/ fax. Great for business. Great for copying lots of papers, printing a ton of stuff. But For artists? The way the paper goes in one way and comes out the other way means it probably isn't extremely versatile in What thickness art papers it would handle. I personally haven't tried it, But my guess would be it won't be amazing at Art prints, and printing on various different Paper sizes. If you look at their manual here files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd53888.pdf You will notice that It only takes a paper weight between 64 gsm to 95gsm Paper weight 17 lb (64 g/m2 ) to 24 lb (95 g/m2 ) So I wouldn't recommend it for art. But for Home use? printing a4 papers, a3, a5, Letters, other simple things, For sure. It would be a great option. Copying things like passport documents, etc And for business use, It could be great too. But not for art. Hope you found my answer useful. Good luck! Have a nice day!
@@Beasty02 Hello again Beasty02 Another con I forgot to mention is that it doesn't seem to use Pigment-based inks. Pigment-based inks are usually better for art prints. Im glad you found it helpful :) Have a nice day!
@@Beasty02 Hello Beasty02 Im sorry, I haven't done any research on Sublimation prints for shirts. So I have no clue What would work best for that! Good luck though! I hope you find what you need Have a nice day!
Hello there! It is recommended to use the Inks Provided by Epson themselves, as using other Inks could possibly damage your printer! It could be possible to use Dye Based Inks, But personally I wouldn't recommend risking it. If you want to do so, Do so at your own risk. However. That said Here is a Succes story using refillable inks www.dyesubforum.co.uk/vbforum/showthread.php?15969-Epson-A2-SC-P800-Will-be-putting-to-dye-use-soon/page3&s=6ace0b141dfda93b5cb012e789a00981 Skip on to page 2 and 3. IN page 3 they talk about the results they had using refillable inks, and other types of inks than what was intended for the printer. I wish you the best of luck. Have a nice day!
i have the pixma pro 100 but I dont think Ive done it justice. Ive been struggling to find the right paper to print my artprints on. At this point I just use it as any other home printers instead of a professional photo printer.
Luigi's Product Reviews for about 2 years , it saves time and money, as you can immediately print your needed photos at home instead of going to a photo lab
sorry to hear about your experience. Thanks for your feedback! As for the wet prints, had you tried using canon photo paper? or special papers? or just normal a4 paper? Normal paper wouldn’t work well with a printer like that Have a nice day!
You have to use them daily. Not weekly. Not monthly. DAILY. Canon printers are designed to remain clog-free, and if you let them sit, when you use them, they do huge cleaning cycles to clear the system. Your Canon was positively frugal compared to my Canon Pro-1000. This monster will eat your bank account alive if you don't use it. But if you actually print daily, it doesn't even do a small cleaning cycle before printing, and the ink tanks just last and last and last. Their programming has timers which clock the amount of time between prints. They also do cleaning cycles if they ever lose power or are turned off, meaning you need to plug them into a backup power supply. But it's ACTUALLY cheaper to print images than to let them run cleaning cycles.
Hello there Salcius Linas! As far as I know the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 Is definitely one of the Best home printer options you could go for. It is definitely not as cheap as the others on this list, but will give you Extraordinary print quality, and is Great at black and white prints. Its maximum size print is A2 Size and it will handle 300gsm Thickness with no issues. It also has a manual feeder for weights above 300gsm The print quality of it is out of thise world, and is well regarded as one of the best higher end options. If you are looking into bigger large format printers I don't know much about those, But the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 is something you can't really go wrong with. amzn.to/2Be8BLT If you would like to see a video that explains it in depth here is a great video ua-cam.com/video/f38Q2SdL4C8/v-deo.html good luck!
Hi. Great video. Can you use the pro 10 or Epson tank for HTV printing or sublimation printing. Or what would be your recommendation? I know the HTV require and inkjet.
I need an a3 printer which supports a4 printing and scanning, as well supporting tracing paper. Problem is I know nothing about printers lol oh and it needs to be wireless obviously
Hello! Could you give me more context on what you would be using it for? What is your price range? If you are using it for High quality and Gallery-quality images you will need something of a higher end. If you just want something for Black and white documents, There are great and fast printers for that. Otherwise if you just want a printer for general day to day use and being able to scan and print with normal quality that is also an option. The higher the quality you want, The higher the price of the printer will be Also What country are you from? then I can provide you with the correct links suitable for your country! Have a nice day!
Finally. A video that is actually helpful about the best printers for art prints and artists. Good job man

Hey you saved a lost artist in the forest of printers.. Thank you for the helpful video!
This has saved me! Choosing a printer was getting so confusing! Thank you
Hello queeniebee237!
Im really glad you found the video useful!
Thanks for your support!
Have a nice day!
Hello Alan Voorhees!
thanks a ton for your advice!
Much appreciated!
Have a nice day!
Which printer was it? I’ve not seen one that advertised the incorrect sizing, and I’ve had several Epsons over the past ten years, all of which printed to spec.
Phenomenal video man. Sub earned. Really appreciate how thorough this was; helped to make my decision easier
Hello!
really Glad you enjoyed the video!

Can you give recommendations for printers that print out sizes like
16 x 20
18 x 24
24 x 36
anybody can comment, i just need direction
Hmmm 🤔 no one answered, your question may be others questions.
So I'm planning to make stickers and I have everything BUT the right printer. I chosen a simple printer (Canon Pixma MG3600) and tried it out. The results...Heart wrenching 😩. No matter the res., It still comes out "washed out" and I wouldn't want to
A. buy more ink for something like that
and B.
The orange button is always flashing
Waste of time
Mine broke for no reason:( it kept giving me errors and I fixed those but then one day it stopped turning on, I bought a replacement for the cable and everything but it still didn't work
Hours looking for a video like this! Thanks!
Very good analysis of all the printers on test. Enjoyed, very well done....

Thank you for posting this. A year(ish) later, it is coming in handy as I'm having to return a Canon Pixma series just 6 days before my sticker shop opens EEEEK
Hey Luigi Thanks for this vidéo do you know which printer can take 24x36 inches ? For printing images
Thanks in advance
There was a firmware update last year for the canon pro 1000 and you can now print up to 17"x48" with paper cut from a roll. It should be number 1 on your list.
Great video! Thank you so much for making this huge review... Half of those printers are impossible to find in my country :( I'm not sure if they are coming with a different name / number... sometimes they do this. But I'm pretty sure I can find a Canon PIXMA PRO-100 A3+ here ♥

Hi Luigi, Liked and followed. Quick question - I have recently bought a drone and intend to make canvas prints of the local scenery/coastline. Would the pixma ip8750 be a good place to start? And what would be a good type of canvas to use? Thanks
thank you appreciate your work in helping folks know what is best printer is for artists...

The Pro 10 is amazing and easy to use.

Hello, Im glad you enjoyed the video.
Il try answer you as soon as possible, Il be home in like 2 Hours.
Okay so I have done a lot of searching and found what you need.
On Epson's Italian website the maximum paper weight the ET 7750 can handle is 300 gsm
So as long as you are not exceeding 300gsm you should be good.
Otherwise the Canon-10 is a safer option for thicker papers and is known to print on canvas, and other thick papers.
On Canon’s PRO 100 (The same as Canon 10, but Dye based option) manual they mention this:
manual feed tray: From 4 to 23.6 mil (0.1 to 0.6 mm) (up to 93 lb (350 g /m))
Meaning they allow up to 350gsm on the manual feeder.
Id say just flip a coin, and save yourself all the overthinking 😂
I wish you the best of luck.
I am looking for a printer to do both well
Hi Luigi . . . Which of these printers 🖨️ can either manual or automatically duplex?
hp left the group🤣
bro my experience with hp stuff is just horrible. they don't care about quality at all mate
HP electronics are Trash!
I'm torn between the canon pixma pro 10 and PIXMA iP8720
Mmmmm
I guess it depends on your budget + on the quality you want.
If you want Gallery-like Quality you would want the Pixma pro 10
If you want a budget option the Pixma IP8720 should do the job.
But if you intend on selling anything from the printer the Pixma Pro 10 is definitely the way to go.
very informative indeed . but which one should i choose for printing on canvas paper.
Hello there Abhinav Singh!
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed!
Ahhh Im glad you asked!
For printing on canvas paper I have a full video about the best printers for printing on Canvas!
Here it is:

Hope that helped!

Cheers Luigi! Appreciate the work you put into this very informative video! Just what I needed! New sub here! All the best!
Thanks, man, I appreciate it!
Have a nice day!
Luigi, would the IP8750 work?! It looks like a IP8720 but is it just as good, technically for CANVAS and everything A3.
I scored a Canon Pro 100 on the secondary market for 35 bucks. Everything works! lol
Would these printers work on heat transfer paper to put art prints on shirts? I’m really struggling with finding a printer that will print quality artwork for prints but also for nice t-shirts and apparel. Great video btw!
Did you find a good printer for heat transfer?
heaven-leigh dakartis I think it really just depends on the paper. I’m still looking into it, but I think that if you were to use one of these high-quality printers with the specific heat transfer paper, the print would be high quality because of the actual printer and not the paper.
Great video! Can you tell me what is the smallest font size that these printers can print ? Is it good enough to print trading cards? tnx
Hey Luigi,
would you say the quality of the art print for Epson Expression Premium ET-7750 EcoTank All-in-One Printer would be ok to sell?
Thank you Luigi,
I'm thinking mainly archival Card. However, it is only the beginning so i am really not sure. I have a lot of testing to do. :D

hey Luigi,
Can I use Epson expression ET-7750 to print on canvas ? And does it have scanner with it ? If it does have then please give me details about it.
Actually I'm looking for printer+scanner to scan my artworks and for printing them and I'm confused ... should I buy all in one or buy them separately? What will be more affordable?
1- Epson surecolor P800 inkjet printer
2- Epson perfection V600 photo scanner
3- Epson surecolor P600 printer
4- Epson expression premium ET-7750 eco tank all in one printer
5- Epson surecolor P600 printer
6- Cannon IP8720 inkjet printer
Please suggest me.
Thank you
Hello! Were you ever able to find a good printer for art prints? If so, please let me know, I am hesitating too!
Awesome video just what i were looking for. Cheers!
Xcellent review! Thank you! Are the prints from any of these machines waterproof?
What kinda paper would be best to print art offline for alcohol markers? I have HP OfficeJet

Are you willing to buy a desktop / home computer? Or a laptop?
Il try my best to help you out, awaiting for your response.
But please know, It is a pretty complicated topic and we would probably have to do some extra replies on here to get to the final answers.
Awaiting your response.

hello! great video, but am wondering about laser printers, how does it compare? thanks alot!
Thank you! Your VDO really helpful 😊
You are most welcome :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for your support!

Honestly you could still use the Pixma 10 for regular prints, but as I said you would pay a ton for the ink, and it's not worth wasting High quality ink on regular prints
You can get a cheapo printer for regular prints, or a laser printer that will allow for the biggest savings in the long-run.
There are many cheap printers out there for daily printing that will even do 3 - in - 1 printing.
(Copying, printing, faxing)
So yea.
Please do a video about scanners for artists. If you do please include large format scanners also.
Please suggest how many A3+ level prints can be printed with Canon Pro 10
Thanks for making such an in-depth video. Some of the ones listed are not available here. The ones that keeps appearing is the Canon Pro 100, which you said was dye based. :/. And the Epson Photo HD 15000, which reviewers said it was hard to set up.
I'm just getting started with art prints, so I need a lower budget one. Do you have reviews for that?
What about printing in miniature? I need to take original images and reduce to doll house size. My old printer did that easily but the new printers with small screens are too difficult to navigate. can you recommend a simple printer for me?
Good review but you could mention the size of paper the certain printer can work on.
Any suggestions on scanners that are affordable for artists?
Love your video mate, great job explaining it. Top marks from me.

For art print that has alot of color dodge effects on it (which usually dies on prints) which printer would you recommend, I'm also looking for printing on Thicker papers.
Absolutely fantastic information.
Can you please tell me what is the good for A1 size print.?
Hello there!
I am sorry my friend, I haven't done much research about A1 Size printers.
Here is a List I found online.
www.designsupply.co.uk/product-category/large-format-cad/a1-cad-printers/?gclid=CjwKCAjw2uf2BRBpEiwA31VZj3CxxeMdg-pMvuBnCHYx_7F94_MgUON61qyrNhobn_BXd2exg_v3ixoCkSAQAvD_BwE
But you will probably want to do some more research, I wish I could help you more.
But I'm not comfortable giving you advice, As i would usually do Many hours of research and would write a blog post, and only then would I make a video about the products.
It also seems to be harder to find information about the Bigger Large format printers.
Good luck though!

Please suggest High end printings....black and white print ink tank printer
Which of these would allow me to sell my art as Giclee or Archival prints? The three main features I'm looking for are: ability to print on archival, %100 cotton or rag, acid free paper, pigment based and prints no less than 300 dpi images well. I appreciate any direction you can give. Thanks so much! I should add it also needs to be compatible with Apple - I have an imac and ipad. I know some printers may not work well with certain OS.
i would love to know the answer to this too!
I need a combined printer / scanner that can print a3. Can anyone recommend one?
I really need to be able to print my art, but need pigment based, for labels I want to make also. I’ve looked at so many and they are not clear really 🤷🏻♀️
Too bad I did not get this vid two years ago, but Im happy with my brother T710w printer it gets the job done, a scanner and the quality is not bad since I do animation I scan some drawings and put them in the animation program and I never work beyond a4 size.
Artists will survive

i’m torn between the pixma pro 10 and ip8720 ;( please advise!
Stuck between the Epson expression with 9 colors & 2880 x 1440 DPI & Canon IP with 6 colors yet 9600 x 2400 DPI...? Which one is more important for black & white sketchings that may need to be printed in color... the DPI or the amount of colors?
I need a pigment base printer both color and black cheep and how can I tell if it is pigment innk printer
What do you think of the Espon WF-7720?.. Please and Thank you
Hello there!
If you look at their manual here
files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd53888.pdf
You will notice that It only takes a paper weight between 64 gsm to 95gsm
Paper weight 17 lb (64 g/m2
) to 24 lb (95 g/m2
)
So I wouldn't recommend it for art.
But for Home use? printing a4 papers, a3, a5, Letters, other simple things, For sure. It would be a great option. Copying things like passport documents, etc
And for business use, It could be great too.
But not for art.
Hope you found my answer useful.

what is the Best quality printer for printing color story books and covers?
Hello, can we use dye ink for eps on p800, where I can get ?
Thanks
Hello there!
It is recommended to use the Inks Provided by Epson themselves, as using other Inks could possibly damage your printer!
It could be possible to use Dye Based Inks, But personally I wouldn't recommend risking it.
If you want to do so, Do so at your own risk.
However. That said
Here is a Succes story using refillable inks

Skip on to page 2 and 3. IN page 3 they talk about the results they had using refillable inks, and other types of inks than what was intended for the printer.

Hiya the ip8720 is now coming up as ip8750 whats the differences between them??
i have the pixma pro 100 but I dont think Ive done it justice. Ive been struggling to find the right paper to print my artprints on. At this point I just use it as any other home printers instead of a professional photo printer.
I use the canon imagePROGRAF PRO 1000 and it’s a perfect fit!

Is the canon iP800 pigment base ink both black and color
I returned the Canon in #3 position. It drank ink, had wet prints.
Very expensive to print.
sorry to hear about your experience.
Thanks for your feedback!
As for the wet prints, had you tried using canon photo paper? or special papers? or just normal a4 paper? Normal paper wouldn’t work well with a printer like that
Have a nice day!
Hi can you tell us what type of paper do we need to print canvas ?

I started wondering if any of these models can do what my Epson Artisan 837 does, namely print CD or DVD overlays?
so whats best for BW prints with insane high detailed artwork, that prints minimimum A2 size and 300lb thickness. price totally doesnt matter.
It also has a manual feeder for weights above 300gsm
The print quality of it is out of thise world, and is well regarded as one of the best higher end options.
