“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29 KJV
I think Ronnie needed to spend more time at home & off the road especially after covid in 2020. He still appears with them in select concerts i.e. Shipshewanna IN fan retreat. & they just released a new project together featuring the original Booth brothers with the current generation contributing to the selections. Jim Brady is back with the group along with Buddy Mullins great harmonies. Paul Lancaster is with the Guardians. You might want to check them out. Love that group too.
BISHOP CHARLES PRICE JONES founder of the Church of Christ Holiness (USA) wrote and composed the music for this song. He composed many hundreds of songs. I played these songs growing up in that church. First cousin to COGIC! Bishop Jones and Bishop Mason were once best friends. Bishop Jones passed in 1949 in Los Angeles, CA and Bishop Mason passed in 1961 in Memphis, TN.
I first heard this beautiful song in a small Pentecostal Church when I was a migrant worker in Indiana back in the summer of 1967. I wish I could find the words for this song so that I can sing it and play my guitar. Anybody out there has the words or know where I can get a hold of the words to this song?
Hear the blessed Savior calling the oppressed, “Oh, ye heavy-laden, come to Me and rest; Come, no longer tarry, I your load will bear, Bring Me every burden, bring Me every care.” Refrain: Come unto Me, I will give you rest; Take My yoke upon you, hear Me and be blest; I am meek and lowly, come and trust My might; Come, My yoke is easy, and My burden’s light. Are you disappointed, wand’ring here and there, Dragging chains of doubt and loaded down with care? Do unholy feelings struggle in your breast? Bring your case to Jesus-He will give you rest. Stumbling on the mountains dark with sin and shame, Stumbling toward the pit of hell’s consuming flame; By the pow’rs of sin deluded and oppressed, Hear the tender Shepherd, “Come to Me and rest.” Have you by temptation often conquered been, Has a sense of weakness brought distress within? Christ will sanctify you, if you’ll claim His best; In the Holy Spirit, He will give you rest.
Praise to The Lamb of God.

Come unto me
Yes!!
And that's about all that needs to be said! (Yes!)
Wow
Good job!
Great song for 2:20 AM.
Hear the blessed Savior calling the oppressed,
“Oh, ye heavy-laden, come to Me and rest;
Come, no longer tarry, I your load will bear,
Bring Me every burden, bring Me every care.”
Refrain:
Come unto Me, I will give you rest;
Take My yoke upon you, hear Me and be blest;
I am meek and lowly, come and trust My might;
Come, My yoke is easy, and My burden’s light.
Are you disappointed, wand’ring here and there,
Dragging chains of doubt and loaded down with care?
Do unholy feelings struggle in your breast?
Bring your case to Jesus-He will give you rest.
Stumbling on the mountains dark with sin and shame,
Stumbling toward the pit of hell’s consuming flame;
By the pow’rs of sin deluded and oppressed,
Hear the tender Shepherd, “Come to Me and rest.”
Have you by temptation often conquered been,
Has a sense of weakness brought distress within?
Christ will sanctify you, if you’ll claim His best;
In the Holy Spirit, He will give you rest.
I've known these words since childhood. But each time I read them it still does something to me. The story never gets old!
I am in need of this song karaoke
