I'll be getting the bodywork done on the 74 Caprice Classic by spraying a Epoxy Primer with a 2K High Build Primer over that...once dry I'll block everything down to find all my low areas and go back with more High Build Primer to get it ready for paint.

Yes. But I always charge twice as much to go behind. But I also make the job as slick as I can so they won't be tempted to take it back to the hack

In any business or trade but this especially because you can’t see what’s under the primer unless you take it all the way down. I always charged more to fix someone’s crap. One reason because it’s more work but also to help educate someone about being cheap.

I've done a lot of these cars.. chevys, fords, cadilacs.. there is a lot of real estate to paint... its no joke.. you're lucky the car was pretty straight to start off with but these are the kind of cars you feel tired at the end of the day... and the next morning when you wake up.. looks good... hope it turns out nice.

Let me just say that you have an amazing eye for this craft and have an excellent approach and touch. You are very controlled on your movement, you understand and respect when you are approaching fatigue, and truly eat the elephant one bite at a time.
You are one of the most gifted artists I have seen in a while, and I would love to see you in a full blown body shop with the best equipment, because if you are turning out amazing work from your home garage, imagine what you would do full scale. Amazing, just amazing. Keep up the great work!

I thought the tan primer sealer covered all those different paint colors well. The Caprice was almost as long and wide as your garage !!! made primer high build painting it challenging.

Whenever I'm doing body work and come across surface rust I take it all the way off. but then I wipe it down with rust Mort because if you leave a Remnant and sometimes you cant see it going to come back and bubble up your paint later and who in the heck preps with 320 to me that's up finishing sandpaper knowing that you're going to use some 2K primer. it's not going to stick very well. that 320 you're right you got to have a good foundation because your paint job is only good as your prep. always watching your videos. you do really good work brother. much love🌝
