I'm british but I generally read/pronounce lieutenant as lewtenant, I know that 'leftenant' is a thing but hadn't realised it was the same thing until really recently. Its kinda hard to break a habit and I'm not that bothered about doing so, though sometimes now I'll read it as leftenant. I don't think I've ever used it in converstation.

No, it is pro - nun - ciation. However, us native speakers often mispronounce it as pro-noun-ciation. So even if you do, it will be fine. But again, the correct pronunciation in pro- NUN-ciation.

Because they wanted more literate people, so they changed spellings to what they sound like, they also campaigned for women to be speeled wimmen.

Pronunciation is mostly the same; it's the spelling that differs. The British mostly use -ise and -isation.
In Britain they stress the I but in america it is more relaxed.
