Very interesting and helpful video for newbies like me. Respect to NI for allowing to show not only their stuff. This makes video more honest and valuable
This felt like a honest lesson rather than a promotion of all plugins we “need” to get his sound. I realise my shortcoming is understanding melody and no plugin is going to help that!
The main thing I love about this dude is his diversity. He can do it all. From soul to death metal. I started listening to him when he was in the band Issues & went by Scout
this dude....giving away this much sauce for free...i feel dirty watching this. definitely one of the best tutorials i've ever watched on music production
Massive respect to this guy, I always pretend to learn something new and its quite hard nowadays because videos always repeat the same, and the same and so on, but this video was different, I didnt know about this guy, I admire the whole knowledge, thanks Lophille and NI.
So many cool little insights, man. I love researching how everyone has different takes on sometimes the same ideas. Definitely adding those tools to my arsenal.
Very informative ✨and surprisingly I had my doubts when you first started opening MASSIVE ,but once you made all the adjustments the sound just came out perfect 👉✨✨✨great
Thanks NI for this higlhy valuable content. As he shows, freezing midi tracks and putting them into audio is a big part of his workflow, and I think that's a big thing Maschine is missing. I know it's possible to freeze tracks but since we can't go back to midi like Ableton does, it's stressful. I hope NI is considering updating this functionality if they consider making it a full DAW.
0:48 tbh I wouldn't really recommend massive for someone new to synths in 2020, there are better options out there now like Serum or my personal favorite Arturia Pigments. These synths have a lot of visual feedback which is super helpful for learning what the different parameters do. (I
the fact that is simple is why he uses it, didnt he say that he likes to keep things simple when it comes to sound design? serum is fine for anything but it shines with weird ass sound you hear in EDM like dubstep. plus massive has a warmer more analog sound to it than serum
@@Albertmars32 I’m talking about people who are beginners and want to learn. For them there are better options out there than Massive, I know because Massive was my first synth and I had no idea what I was looking at. I’m not saying no one should use it, in fact I still use it myself sometimes.
@the missing link I was actually considering buying that one since it’s now on sale on NI’s website, but I figured I probably have enough synths already haha
Serum and Pigments are awful beginner ones. Their blatant limitations and UI is bad for beginners. Definitely Massive over both, says I, who last opened massive in 2013 and use Pigments/Serum daily.
@@noname-ng6sj Well I definitely disagree with that, but I'm curious to hear why you think that. IMO Pigments has one of the best UI's of any synths and is perfect for a beginner, and the animated visual feedback on everything is super helpful for anyone but especially people who are learning. Not sure what blatant limitations you're talking about, wanna elaborate a little?
Very enjoyable video. Thanks, however, I wish NI would have provided links to the plugins and artists/channels Lophiile mentioned during the video. Oh well, I guess that's what Google is for. :-)
