Rose and Josi, have you tried the milk and use very little of it? You may put too much of it in your hair. Try a lot less and see how it goes if you still have some SM there.

@@josi_o Milk is lighter than the Smoothie. If the Smoothie is too heavy for you, then I would suggest you try the milk. If you don't like it, return it back for a refund at Target. There are videos on SM Milk vs. SM Smootie... feel free to check them out and see if you can get more insight on the product before you buy it. I would love to know how you like it.

Sophie K devacurl is just overpriced for no reason. Shea moisture is my favorite brand and works better. I tried Devacurl my hair felt like straw and there was no hold I was so confused. I took everything I bought back to sephora/ulta: all $150 worth. The conditioners and protien is nice; only things I kept but i like shea moistures protien treatment better. And it's more than half the price. I really wanted to like devacurl but it was a no for me. Same for briogeo; overpriced, overhyped.
Anya Klum when I used that low poo I was shocked to the core how dry it made my scalp. Never again. Only thing I liked was the deep conditioners but its still not worth the money.

I LOVE Ouidad. I've used the climate control shampoo, conditioner, detangling heat spray, and the original gel, and then now I'm using the stronger hold heat & humidity gel. I just love all of them. Also, what surprised me, is that normally I can't use products that are high in glycerin because it makes my hair frizzy, but the gel doesn't do that, even though glycerin is the 2nd ingredient.

This is so helpful. I had tried Ouidad a few years ago but didn't like it. I think it's because I didn't know how to use it. I love both of them but I'm thinking my hair battles dryness AND I live in Florida so Ouidad is getting another shot!

I love both as well. I use Ouidad mostly in the summer because it is great on humidity. It leaves my hair so soft too. I use Dave Curl in winter and don't get as much frizz and yet still great hold and softness. I tend to switch between them frequently. I also only use the shampoo, conditioner and the gel which my hair seems to be very happy with. Took me a whole year to finally figure out what my hair liked and what my routine was going to be. It's amazing to me how curly hair can be so straight when its wet and then the outcome is so beautiful! This gives me hope that my curls will come back. I know there is potential for my curls. I just purchased the Ouidad styling cream yesterday and I didnt notice a difference but maybe i did it wrong and i also can use a trim. Thanks for comparing because I dont think i like Deva curl for my hair but Im going to try it again before i give up on it!

E Perez - I've had great results from Cantu recently. I bought Kinky Curly custard when I was in the US, and amazing as it was, it's five times the price! 😭😭. The Deva gel was ok, but at close to £20 a bottle here, it's not worth the results. Too much puff after a few hours
My bf loves can't uur but I dont. If you have super dry hair Cantu u is probably good. If you don't have frizzy hair then probably curly girl or mixed girl w.e it's called. Personally my favorite is taliah waajid. I let my friend with straighter hair try it and she loved it too. A jar lasts forever. I think I buy twice a year.

I use the coconut water shampoo and conditioner, the leave in conditioner in the pink bottle, and the gel in the green. All great products imo.

I'm in the UK and haven't seen the Ouidad products, but have used the Deva gel. I found it gave me amazing volume, but even the smallest amount of wind and it separated out into a puffy mess. The bottle cost me nearly £20, so I probably won't repurchase, as I'm getting better results from my Cantu custard at the mo
I love the Deva Curl side, because of the volume. The other side looks great too for a different look and they do look very hydrated your curls, but I'm all about that VOLUME!
Another thing to note is that DevaCurl is intended to use on soaking wet hair (immediately after rinsing). I have a very similar curl type and my curls end up very hydrated, with lots of volume and no frizz by using the products correctly. Also - Ouidad has silicone which gives a fake sleek look, but weighs down your hair and needs sulfates to wash out, resulting in drier hair over time.
I've tried them both and notice the same thing, more shine and moisture with ouidad. I only have the gel tho, I have to get the cream too! I love your hair no matter what youput on it xo Michele
I used ouidad for a while and got my hair cut by them for years, and then I switched to DevaCurl. The main problem I had with Ouidad is that it made my hair look super oily, which was especially noticeable with my blonde hair. I also was very skeptical about the chemicals they put into their products. I love DevaCurl, but my main issue right now is fly aways/frizz on the second and third day, and product build up. Your hair is gorgeous. For me personally, I loved the Ouidad side much better. I will be using those products as opposed to Deva as my hair is very thick anyway. The Ouidad side looks really well defined and does not appear to be frizzy which is something I struggle with. Thank you for the comparison.
Loved this video! Great idea to compare the products head to head (literally)! Perhaps the Ouidad would serve better in a hot and humid climate and the Deva in a colder dryer climate. I do prefer the Ouidad side myself!

I have been trying to use the diffuser well and the only thing it does is put my hair crunchy and remove the definition of my hair. please make a video only of how to use the diffuser so that the hair can be seen as well as yours. my hair is a bit more curly than yours and I can not get results as beautiful as your results. Wait until your hair is at least half way dry before diffusing. That way, your curls will have figured out where to go and how they want to curl up already.

be careful with Ouidad .. it has heavy silicones to give the illusion of better results ... try DevaCurl supercream if you want more shine and less volume like the Ouidad cream
Okay so yes I am two years behind. I like the quidad side best!! I think If you just played with the quidad side a little more and even use the cold defuse on quidad side for a little bit longer I think either that or even using a little less product should add more vacuum and using the clips in your hair while drying would add more volume without any frizz at all Idk I just think that when it turns out less frizzy & shiny to begin with it has better lasting power. So it looks much nicer for a much longer amount of time. Either way your hair is gorgeous!!!

Well, God has certainly blessed you :) Great idea for a video. My hair is "naturally messy" but Im trting to get into a curl routine and this vid has helped. I have fine hair and a long face so i need all the volume i can get...but i dont like frizz or dry hair. Going to try the Ouidads and see if that works. What do you do on non wash days? How do you sleep on curly hair like this? I have been putting my hair up in a ponytail for about a decade not knowing what to do with it so I'm still trying to figure out a lot here.

I have a lot of volume anyway, so ouidad seems like a winner to me. Going to have to try this.
Ouidads main ingredient is water and focuses on moisturizing the hair with every product, it also last longer as long as you wet down your hair

Deva looks good for only one day. It’s kind of a waste of money. Ouidad costs more but you use less and the style lasts. OUIDAD WINS.

The main problem I had with Ouidad is that it made my hair look super oily, which was especially noticeable with my blonde hair. I also was very skeptical about the chemicals they put into their products. I love DevaCurl, but my main issue right now is fly aways/frizz on the second and third day, and product build up. Do you have my suggestions? Thank you! I love your channel!! 💛
Your hair is gorgeous. For me personally, I loved the Ouidad side much better. I will be using those products as opposed to Deva as my hair is very thick anyway. The Ouidad side looks really well defined and does not appear to be frizzy which is something I struggle with. Thank you for the comparison.

Loved this video! Great idea to compare the products head to head (literally)! Perhaps the Ouidad would serve better in a hot and humid climate and the Deva in a colder dryer climate. I do prefer the Ouidad side myself!

I have been trying to use the diffuser well and the only thing it does is put my hair crunchy and remove the definition of my hair. please make a video only of how to use the diffuser so that the hair can be seen as well as yours. my hair is a bit more curly than yours and I can not get results as beautiful as your results. Wait until your hair is at least half way dry before diffusing. That way, your curls will have figured out where to go and how they want to curl up already.

be careful with Ouidad .. it has heavy silicones to give the illusion of better results ... try DevaCurl supercream if you want more shine and less volume like the Ouidad cream

Okay so yes I am two years behind.
I like the quidad side best!! I think If you just played with the quidad side a little more and even use the cold defuse on quidad side for a little bit longer I think either that or even using a little less product should add more vacuum and using the clips in your hair while drying would add more volume without any frizz at all
Idk I just think that when it turns out less frizzy & shiny to begin with it has better lasting power.
So it looks much nicer for a much longer amount of time.

I agree its all about preference. Deva curl would would great on people who have thinner hair cause of all the volume. And ouidad is great cause it add A LOT of definition. Great comparison!

Great idea for a video. My hair is "naturally messy" but Im trting to get into a curl routine and this vid has helped. I have fine hair and a long face so i need all the volume i can get...but i dont like frizz or dry hair. Going to try the Ouidads and see if that works. What do you do on non wash days? How do you sleep on curly hair like this? I have been putting my hair up in a ponytail for about a decade not knowing what to do with it so I'm still trying to figure out a lot here.

i do like deva curl, but if found it frizzing my hair too much and drying. i used it for almost a year and just switched to curl smith. curlsmith is ahhhmazing!
What If u mixed them?! Use the Oidad cream and Deva Curl Gel. I bet you'd still have volume and shiny moisturized curls.
