- Cab plays a ladies’ man who dates the wife of a train porter who is frequently absent from home. In addition to this tongue-in-cheek plot, Cab Calloway and His Orchestra perform “Harlem Camp Meeting,” and Calloway has two vocals, “Zaz-zuh-zaz” and “The Lady with the Fan.”
Presented for historical reference.

Cab calloway was the swing era equivalent of Prince and Michael Jackson. Cab calloway was the bomb.
He also did the music for many Betty Boop Videos!
This is where Teddy Riley picked up and brung it back in the late 80s early 90s! History repeats it self
Was thinking the same exact thing!!!!
No doubt!!
Don't compare him with Michael jackson

Bugs bunny cartoons planted the seed to us about Cab back in the 70s. Then seeing him in the BLUES BROTHERS was cool. Now it’s utube university that’ll hip some of the young. Cabs train will keep on keeping on.
4:36. Welp now I know where James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince got their moves from. That whole sequence is smooth and wild.
And add folks like Bill Robinson and the Nicholas Brothers.
CAB then James Brown and along comes MJ...
Fab Cab was only 26 years old here and already leader of the hottest band doing films. He was a rockstar before that term was invented.
Jazz genius...not ROCK STAR. Black people hadn’t invented Rock and Roll yet...🙄🤨

My dad took me to his concert in the mid-70s in SF on NYE and it was better than Elvis or the Stones. Doing the hi de ho chant in the crowd is something that I will pass down to my grandkids...

That's a class and style that doesn't exist anymore, not even when replicated.
The thing is, there's virtually no one in the entertainment "business" that even HAS class and style....so of course they can't replicate it. Especially when compared to a LEGEND like Cab Calloway !
Michael Jackson came close.
@@ITILII Class and Style like Calloways can only be held by people who genuinely possess it from the start. It's something you're born with, not into. Naturally hollywood is terrified of anything you can't fake and claim as your own so out it goes!
