I’ve had this phone about a year now. I love it, I switched from an iPhone and it was a great decision. Pros. 1.Good speakers 2. Great display 3. Google assistant is way better than Siri 4. The battery life is great to begin with, but when you turn on low battery mode, it’ll last forever. 5. The camera even at the full 30x zoom is still amazing and not grainy at all. Cons. 1. The screen scratches very easily (could be my protector, it’s a liquid glass one but I dunno how to remove it) 2. This thing gets HOT, especially when you’re on a video call, I usually have to put it in the fridge for a couple minutes sometimes 3. It freezes and restarts somewhat frequently, and takes a while to unfreeze or boot back up 4. You have to be very careful about water, if you drip even a little bit of water or the room is a little steamy from a shower or something, it will give you a warning message about liquid in the charging port, and takes a long time to dry out. 5. It does have emergency satellite calls, but it seems like you’re out of range of a satellite more than you are with an iPhone.
my biggest gripe with pixel so far has been the front camera ( had 2xl, 4a, 5, 6a), i dont feel theyve really adequately improved it beyond software tweaks. Its sub par on third party apps; I did notice improvement with optimization on my 6a
Yo, the one thing that really bugged me about this phone was the brightness of the screen. It's like, after using an iPhone or Samsung, this phone's screen feels super dim. I gotta keep it on full brightness all the time, and that drains the battery like crazy.
Feel the same about my P8. Just doesn't seem like it hits 2K nits or thereabouts. Constantly bumping it up toward max, even indoors at times. My Note 10 that was made, what, 5 years ago seems to have a brighter and more vibrant display...
@@AssetAlchymy Have you disabled auto brightness in accessibility on your 13pm? If so your manual slider should bump up the standard brightness to around 800 nits
Pixel 7 Pro + Evolution X ROM = 🥳 The only issue for me is its tendency to overheat easily while outside. Sitting in the sun causes it to drop in performance with its display dropping itself below 60 Hz until it cools back down.
@@ndubuisiifejirika9071 lol I think I know what's the problem is and I am also seeing a lot of comments from you, so u might have changed display colour, go to UA-cam and search about how to change display colours
The 5x optical auto focus and speakers quality is crap but except that, if you don't game, it's a nice phone.Due to these issues, I think Pixel 7 for a cheap price is the best deal for most people. In my case, I prefer a good auto focus on telephoto lens so I switched to the S23 Ultra.
Got one for 250,My question is what's wrong with it.Running the latest version of Android, will get a few more of those..Tensor 2 is solid, battery decent.I have the 8 and yes it's faster blah blah but to me the shit all the same
I know the updates end in a few years for the 7 pro and the pixel 8 is here now with 7 years updates, but tbh i dont think my next phone will last me a whole 7 years. The value proposition of the 7 pro now the 8 pro is out is too great for me to ignore. I just hope I find one which doesn't overheat and has a healthy battery, as ill get it pre-owned. Currently rocking a OnePlus 7T Pro with the pop up selfie camera... with a smashed up screen. Its holding itself together, just about.
I got my pixel 7 pro from backmarket to repmace the 6 pro when it got rained on and just died... :( The 7 pro is a solid upgrade and keeps up with modern phones easily! Will be getting the next iphone though 😬
I agree on the selfie camera. The lack of autofocus means blurry eyes and sometimes blurry faces. Disappointing for me because I have these bright blue eyes that don't shine in these pics.
I bought a used p7p for $300, installed calyx OS and that extends the batter life immensely (at least 3 days in one charge). Unfortunately, I noticed it was buggy, it triggers its own touch screen which made it unusable. I reinstalled the google android stock OS but the glitchy touchscreen was still present. Whats worse is that the seller refuses to give me my money back even though they claim it was in excellent condition.
Thanks for this review! I bought a P7Pro a month ago, as new. I think its an amazing smooth experience using this device. Cameras are great, speakers are okay, display is terrific just battery life could be a little bit better but even that is more than okay! Used phantastic phones like Huawei P30 Pro, Mate 40 Pro and his phone equals them in experience!. Could not be happier😊
Hey mate ! i have been using the 6a for 1 year and 7 months now. Could trade in this phone to upgrade to 7 pro at 369 usd....is it worth the upgrade ? I feel the sensor used in 6a seems too old for videos. Also the battery backup is bad.
Great review. Used to have a Pixel 7a, then found an almost brand new (used) Obsidian 7 Pro 512GB for $630 in de "Second hand market), and man I am just in love with this phone. I find myself using this more than my S24 Ultra. What the 'Magic blur' editing can do to some old photos of mine on this phone is unbelievable. And unlike many who don't like curved screens, I just love them. Believe me, I had a chance to buy the Pixel 8 Pro but didn't like it as much as I love the 7 Pro. ❤
I’m looking for a USB-C splitter for my Pixxel 7 Pro that can connect to its USB-C port. The splitter should have two female USB-C ports: one for connecting USB-C Apple EarPods to make phone calls, and the other for charging the phone and supporting data transfer. This data transfer should enable USB debugging mode, allowing me to use the mirroring application, scrcpy. I’ve noticedd that most products on Amazon only support data transfer on the port that supports audio, but not on the charging port. Can you recommend a product that meets thhese requirements?
I think the 8 series lineup have vastly overshadowed its predecessors. The 7 series purely due to Tensor G2 is in my opinion not a very good pickup anymore with both the Pixel 8 and 8a around. I'd rather suggest either those two even over the 7 Pro. I just don't think both Tensor G2 and G1 are worth the hassle anymore.
Pros great photos, good looking phone Cons not a bright screen, low speakers volume, freezes every now and then, some apps when scrolling doesn't work properly
Nice review. What are your thoughts regarding 8a vs 7pro? The price here in the Philippines is almost the same. I am contemplating which one to buy. Thanks
I’ve owned the pixel 7 pro for 18 months, while it does some things well, its low light photography is terrible. I tried photographing the northern lights using numerous modes, but the results were terrible. The people in our tour group with iPhones achieved great results on auto mode! Second, the battery life is poor compared to my older Samsung. Normal photography with sufficient light is excellent as is the editing function. Android auto is very average and Ive given up using it. This was my first google pixel but I don’t think I will buy another one after my experience with this one. I’ve never really wanted to move to an iPhone but my experience with the pixel pro has left me very disappointed.
I had amazing aurora borealis photographs with the p7p. I had it for 2 years and it worked flawlessly. The battery life was good for me and it still does. Front camera sucked, but overall I think it is a really good phone.
