- At an airbase in Denmark, the Danish Air Force has been training the next generation of Ukrainian fighter pilots to fly the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
A coalition of NATO Allies, including Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway, has agreed to donate their F-16s to the Ukrainian Air Force. As part of the deal, Danish instructors at Skrydstrup Air Base are training Ukrainian pilots, technicians and ground crew how to fly and maintain the F-16. The first jets will enter service later this year.
The Ukrainian pilots are full of praise for the F-16, noting its responsive controls and agile flight features.
The F-16 is an advanced multirole fighter, which will replace Ukraine’s aging fleet of MiG-29 Fulcrums and Su-27 Flankers. Speedy, highly manoeuvrable and capable of carrying a wide range of ordnance, the F-16 will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s ability to continue defending its airspace and territory against Russia's war of aggression.

Its the air conditioning and pressurization, it happens when its super humid on and near the ground, it goes away as you climb in altitude. They have a moisture separator but when its really humid you get that fog.

I think we immediately need to learn how to launch air-to-air, air-to-surface missiles from 30-200 km, is it really impossible to find a missile without a warhead during exercises? it will be even cheaper, you still need to try. set autotraps by artificial intelligence when the missile approaches and immediately maneuver.

We are not talking about "game changer" or silver bullet here; we are talking about REAL LIFE WARRING REALITIES AND LOGISTICS: if Russia had all the jets and bombers and could fly anywhere, at will, Ukrainians would simply do Vietnam & Afghan styled guerilla warfare. BTW, both the US and the mighty USSR/Soviets LOST to the impoverished sandal wearing Afhganistan people who had mostly AK-47s and IEDs.
If you invade another country ---- and if they are determined to fight you for years and decades --- YOU are in quicksand, NOT THEY.... even if you have superior technologies and weapons.

The last attempt at invading "little brother Vietnam" was 1979, just 4 years after mighty America having just pulled out of Vietnam. That's for a totally inexperienced, new, young pilot in development.
Most or all of these Ukrainians in training are already very experienced pilots, flying Mig-29s and other Soviet era fighter jets. Flying or doing extreme acrobats is NOT a problem they have. They merely need to learn how to operate an F-16 optimally.
But that's not even the real challenge for the Ukrainian Air Force.
Their real problem lies in the MECHANICS who must maintain these NATO grade fighter jets.
You can't fly a jet and expect others to maintain it for you: --- you had to have your own reliable, trusted mechanics, even if you are allowed to "subcontract" SOME retired master mechanics that the US Pentagon knows well, has approved of, from the US and from other nations that have already mastered the F-16 over many decades....
Again, you could train an already well qualify fighter jet pilots on a new jet relatively easily; but training mechanics, on the ground up, to SERVICE these sophisticated jets, with a SUPPLY CHAIN put in place... in a new language... that's the hard part.

No weapon, except a NUKE, is a "game changer." Conventional weapons systems are LAYERED systems.
But the fact of the matter is....
Having HIMARS, with just mid-range missiles, already FORCED the Russians to conduct their logistics and large convoy movements, in a much more guarded manner.
Before, in the first few days, first few weeks, and first few months --- as you SOUNDLY observed --- the Russians flew over Ukraine and wandered around, in GIANT CONVOYS of 2, 5, and 40 miles long... look at that convoy that got stuck from pure logistics, from Belarus to Kyiv the first few days...
Ukraine's DEFENSE BUDGET, at the outset of the 250,000 invasion, was around $6B.
(Today, it is a military with a cumulative military assets of around $150B, with 85% of it being NATO grade weapons systems, although most are still in the lower-end of things....)
It had, at the outset of the invasion by Russia, 2 or 3 dozens of Mig 29s and other similar USSR aircraft & helicopters.
That wasn't gonna stop Russians HUNDREDS of fighter jets, bombers, and helicopter gun ships.
If Ukraine had kept on fighting with just her own USSR-era equipment and weapons, it wouldn't have lasted more than a few weeks, to, at most, a few months.... before Russians totally dominated the sky and then the land, from Lviv to Kharkiv....
But once NATO grade weapons started arriving in substantial numbers, within 2-3 months from the Feb 24 mass invasion.... even Russian jets and helicopters had to be more careful where they flew.
And, then, there's the PATRIOTS, NASASMS, IRIS-T, etc.
HIMARS --- trucks that could only do 55MPH or so, with only mid rage 55 to 90 mile range --- put Russians logistics and convoy movements further back.
PATRIOT batteries put virtually all of Russia's high-end fighter jets mostly or entirely in the periphery of the Donbas and no Su-35 or Su-57 is going to fly anywhere close to even Kharkiv, by the border of Belgorod, much less venturing all the way to Kyiv or Lviv.
Now, ATACMS --- on those 55MPH HIMARS trucks --- could do close to 200 mile range.
F-16s aren't the fastest or biggest fighter jets; but they could do up to Mach 1.5 or so (optimal fighting speed for the F-16 is around Mach 1.2 or so). They could go largely anywhere across Ukraine in less than 2 hours.
HIMARS trucks take many, many hours to a day or two to criss-cross Ukraine...
And with the array of missiles and bombs that F-16s are configured to carry..... if you don't think 10, 15, 20, 50, etc. are going to set Russians movements and logistics FURTHER back, you don't appreciate a LAYERED, SUN-TZU approach to the art of war....
Today, the West has pretty much abandoned its own bullshit that no Western supply weapons could be used INSIDE Russia. Now, it is pretty much up to the Ukrainians.
That means any Russian assets or infrastructure within the gliding bombs and missiles from F-16s and the 200 mile range ATACMS are in play, ANYWHERE in the War.
Wars are not politics, courtesy calls, or Socratic seminars or logic discussions.
Wars are PURE KILLING.
To kill, you must OUTSMART, out maneuver your enemies, who are skilled, determined, and willing to die for their cause, in defense or in the invasion of their neighbors....
Russia is a MIGHTY nation, in military terms.
Conventionally, it is a mid range military; but due to it having 50% of the world's total stockpile of NUKES, it must be considered a mighty military, all the giggles we do on these UA-cam videos --- seeing them using WW2 museum pieces, dressed in "turtle suits" ---- NOTWITHSTANDING...
But its LAND MASS, 11 time zones... also is one of Russia's Achilles Heels...
A land mass that is 90% of the COMBINED lands of China and the US --- the 4th and 3rd largest lands on earth ---- also means Russia is NEVER going to be able to protect all of its vast INFRASTRUCTURES, in very isolated, hard to defend OPEN areas....
And Russia's MOST IMPORTANT assets are oil refineries, gas plants, and ports.
You can't go places without easily gotten massive amounts of gas or oil.
Ukraine has already started to SYSTEMATICALLY target those INFRASTRUCTURES, with drones (small specialized FPV's and converted light planes, that could do around 1,000 miles).
F-16s are at the HIGH-END of the MID LEVEL weapons systems.
Coupling those F-16s (10, 20, 40, and 60 in the next few months to a year or two).... with the PATRIOTS and NASASMS.... not even mighty Su-35s (which Russia has around 200 units) and the Su-57s (which they have no more than 15, with probably just 10 working optimally at any one time) would dare, today, to openly fly into Ukraine, as they once used to do it any time they wanted...
Whatever havoc a 55MPH HIMARS, even with ATACMS, truck could do.... a Mach 1.2 to 1.5 F-16 could do it better, 15 to 20 times faster.... all across the breadth and depth of Ukraine, which is the second largest land in Europe, after Russia...
THAT, again, is a LAYERED APPROACH to warfare.... offensively & defensively. You can't just sit tight, build dragon teeth and fortified bunkers and wait for your enemies to come to you!
