Rich, lush and tastey horn performance backed up by a great big band. Reminds me of the cruise ship and big hotel performances of decades ago. Wonderful.
Sound and feels like he is just going through a museum and knodding at each work of art instead of experiencing what is before him. No use of memory to "remember" Clifford, only scanning through a technical bulletin. He does have tremendous abilities though. The next step for him is for emotion to merge with skill.
I agree completely. Incredible technique but not in service to the song. Compare to the more simple, but more heart-felt version by Donald Byrd and Gigi Grace.
Allan Birmantas Totally agree.....good technique, tone and feeling for the song but at the end, I think he forgot that it was about remembering Clifford Brown, not about him.
Trumpet technique is marvellous, yet at times it alternates between radio midnight music and a Tiroler Orkester. I just listened to Freddie Hubbard's version and there is a marked difference.
Great trumpet player, not sure about that exhibition of technique at the end though. Not in the spirit of Clifford Brown. I do appreciate his skill, technique and tone.
I agree. I once heard him playing, replacing Lew Soloff, with the Carneghy Hall big band in Venice. He was young and scared but, of course, it was his best performance in my opinion. And that just because he was flying low. Now he puts too much attention to technique but the feeling is poor.
No dynamic contrast, no build in themes or energy in the solo, stylistically inappropriate (while technically impressive) runs. Overall a lackluster and boring, emotionless performance. The ending solo I found was incredible uncalled for and ill fitting.
Da paura ! Grandi tutti ! Bosso e' un fuori classe! mammamia !
Struggente !!!! Il brano
Incommensurabile la bravura di Bosso❤

He doesn't have to play Clifford Brown note for note to tribute.

Incredible technical rendition. Please listen to your forefathers on this piece for the musical interpenetration.
Too many grace notes ?
Bosso 1
生で聴いてみたいです
idolo
Bosso entusiasma come entusiasmava Clifford
Cadenza shows remarkable agility and tongue technique but I wanted dark soul msybe it could have been sequenced at beginning
What trumpet is he using and what mouthpiece??
Anyone can explain me this supposed lack of feeling? Really, I'm interested. If you can link some other video to compare I would appreciate
I love this version also . Fabrissio is incredible.
But what people ae comparing is , propably something like Lee Morgan’s version !
It is a Monette (pronounced "Monay") mouthpiece and horn.

Фабрицио Росса--в е л и к о л е п н о!
I remember Clifford italian march style.
Too high tempo.
I completely agree… This so fast tempo and the playing technique are not in the mood of this song, an intimate piece of art for the heart..

Piu' bella questa della versione di Arturo Sandoval
Bien Fabrizio, arreglo orquestal muy flojo
Playing a million notes per minute may be great technique, but not great art.
someone's jealous
soulless and academic......
Commentating Illustrating you kidding man😂
There may be better trumpet players . . . but I have never heard them.

Style makes music too small
Bosso amazing technician But no catchy
Over playing in my opinion, not the right song for all that fast playing.
Bad tuning man...
