    Ikea do a terrible job of informing customers how the different adjustments work on their products. You however provide clear instructional videos explaining it so clearly. Thanks a lot!

      Yes. I have no problem following their instructions to assemble anything - in fact, I kind of enjoy working out their instructions and putting something together. Like a kind of puzzle, but always do-able. It's just functionality that is not clear in their instructions. Looking at the pictures, I could see what the different levers are supposed to do... but frankly, it was only watching this video (linked in a reddit reply) that I realized that fixing the back upright is the RIGHT lever (also for raising and lowering the seat) and that the left lever is for sliding the seat forward and back - though mine slides only about one centimeter so I don't know what that's good for. This is what I have been searching for in order to make the best use of my chair.

    Thanks for the video, been wondering how the various adjustments work, this shows me clearly. Been waiting to buy this baby for months as I reckon it will be way comfier for working at my desk than my current chair. Thanks for the video. You did a brilliant job. It made assembly really easy. It took me c.40 minutes going at a slow pace. The relaxing music kept the blood pressure down 😉 lm really pleased with the chair. Very comfortable and high quality materials. Very pleased I bought it. The only 2 negatives for me to share are that the arm rests won’t slide under the IKEA Micke desk, so it takes up a little more floor specs when not in use and the wheels don’t slide easily on carpet. Minor criticism though. Enjoy if you purchase.

      Hey, I would like to buy this chair. What do you think does it cause the mother in the back after a period of sitting on it, I bought a chair for $ 50 from IKEA, it is the worst chair at all, I experimented in the store and it was good then at home I sat on it for two hours and hit me Back pain I threw it, please answer me I want to know is it worth buying because I sit a lot on the computer

    • @FigaroHey
      @FigaroHey 2 роки тому

      @@MrAttaky I have sat in mine for several hours without even getting up, and only after about 5-6 hours do I feel like my legs are tired and I should get up and move around. I've had no problems AT ALL with my back. I feel like this chair sort of 'makes me' sit in a good posture. I've adjusted it so that my feet are flat on the floor, and my back is straight - and that's much better posture than when I sit in an ordinary chair. So I think if you adjust the chair so that you are sitting upright in a good posture, not with your back bent or slumped, you should be OK in this chair. You might look online for some information about the best posture for sitting at a computer, and make sure that you are sitting correctly and maintaining good posture. It could be your posture, not the chair. But if you cannot sit in really good, correct posture with the chair you choose, then obviously, it's going to hurt you. First find out what the best posture is; then choose a chair that 'forces' you to sit in that posture.. I find this chair really helps me maintain the correct posture I was told to use years ago when I was trained how to type (at an old-fashioned typewriter, not a computer) and when I was taught piano.

That was driving me a bit crazy, as sometimes I like it firmly upright. I don't much like reclining the back of a seat (even on a plane) unless at the same time I can have my feet up. Thanks.

      Hi Ivan Esin, Before I bought this chair,
      I'm looking for a chair with..
      1. design (look like this one)
      2. I won't sit too long
      Those thing fit to me with this chair, plus - the functional - the wheel have auto lock system, it doesn't run away when I stand up.
      The seat will be a little hard at first. Then it gets softer and better
      If you're finding a chair that you happy to sit too long and get some sleep, I don't recommend this one :)
      Summery
      Pros - good design + functional
      Cons - can't sleep, not have headrest
      Sorry for my English lang, Thank you :)

    • @FigaroHey

      I'm really happy with it after a month. As noted by another responder, at first I thought that the seat was a bit hard, but it has definitely 'worn in' and feels more comfortable and conformed to my body. I only just learned how to slide the seat forward, and I'm experimenting with that (even though mine only seems to slide about a centimeter forward) because while I'm only 162cm, I did find the previous hard wood chair I was using was too 'short' in the seat, and the edge of the seat seemed to strike a nerve in the back of my leg, making it impossible to sit for more than about 20 minutes. I have sat in this chair (without sliding the seat forward for more room) for several hours at a time before I got tired of sitting.
      On my particular desk (not an Ikea desk), I have a pull-out space for my keyboard that is just at the right level for me to type with my arms in the correct position. The chair does not slide under the pull-out board, so that could be an issue if you have tight space or you just want the chair pushed as far under the desk/out of the way at possible when you're finished working.
      Overall, I'm delighted with it. As I said, my apartment just came furnished with a couple of very hard, simple, wooden chairs, and it was very painful to sit at my desk in those. This is a dramatic improvement, and I really love the style, so I know it will go with 'my' style even if I move to another flat where I have more control over the furnishings (some of the furniture is mine in this flat; some came with the flat).
      It does seem like the leather gets a bit warm, and with temperatures in the 30s now, yes, I would say that in summer, I probably should get up from the chair and let it cool down after three or four hours - but I should do that anyway for the sake of my circulation. I'm sure that in winter, I'll be glad of a warm, padded chair.
      This is my first 'real' office chair that swivels and glides across the floor (engineered wood, no damage from the casters) and is soft and supports my back. Prior to this chair, I was only using kitchen chairs or dining-room chairs at my desk. I am TOTALLY delighted that I spent the money and got this chair (if you're in Europe, it's cheapest to buy it in Poland - Germany, UK and Czechia have much higher prices for this chair). I can easily imagine it lasting a very long time and I would definitely recommend it if you really like the style and want to invest in a chair that you will enjoy looking at and using - I think for years to come, probably.

    There's a zipper at the bottom of the sitting area, do you know why? I was going to buy it, but I wanted to know why there was a zipper on the leather. I don't think the cover is sold separately on the site, can I replace it?

    • @FigaroHey
      @FigaroHey 2 роки тому

      I wondered too - not that I was going to unzip it and take it off and find out (and then possibly not get it back on again). My guess would be that it is easier for them to put it together if they can zip on different leather covers than if they had to sew or somehow permanently attach the leather to the chair. Knowing Ikea, they probably worked out the least expensive and easiest way to get the leather seat covers on when they are making the chairs and decided that having their assemblers zip them on was more cost-efficient than 'upholstering' them on. Of course, that zipper could be to get access to a space for slipping in secret documents to hide them when the government comes to search your house. I mean, if it's there, why not use it?

      I just got mine (after a very long covid-induced wait) and I'm using it on engineered 'wood' floors. No problems AT ALL. No marks, not noisy, very smooth-rolling. Ikea says that the rollers will work on carpet or smooth/hard floor, but I wonder if they'd glide so smoothly on carpet. Maybe one of those clear plastic floor mats they use in offices, so that the chair rolls well? Your wood floor is still 'visible' through the plastic, so it doesn't dramatically change the look of your floor. By the way, whether it will harm your wood floor depends on a few factors. Some woods are softer than others. Walnut, I believe, is softer than oak, for example. If someone in stiletto heels would harm your floors, maybe rollers would as well. But also there's the matter of weight. A 300-pound woman in stiletto heels is more likely to dent your wood or linoleum than a 90-pound woman in stiletto heels. These casters are not squishy, but I can't see how they could possibly dent a wood floor unless the wood was VERY soft and the person in the chair was VERY heavy. My engineered wood floor scratched when a 200-pound person pushed back a normal chair (not on casters) and there was a bit of grit or stone under one of the legs of the chair. Same person in this office chair hasn't caused any marks on the floor.

      Not that I've worked out. Either you can lock the chair into the upright position, or you can have it so that if you lean back, it leans back. I find that unless I really lean back - for example, putting my feet up - the chair supports my back in an upright position for typing. But I've personally locked it fully upright because I don't want it to tilt - I want that support for a good typing posture.

    If your length is >-1.80 metres, the seat of this chair lacks depth: you then need for you upper-legs 52-56 cm. in stead of 42-46 cm. (less support). That's why this chair is just for short time use, unfortunately.

    • @FigaroHey
      @FigaroHey 2 роки тому +1

      Because first, 'lay' is a transitive verb. Nothing 'lays down' - you lay SOMETHING down. Persons and animals can LIE down, not 'lay down.' Second, it's not a reclining chair, so the back is not ever going to recline. You can make lock the back in a full, fixed, upright position or you can unlock it so it 'leans' back when you lean back (it moves with your body as you lean back). That's all.

      The temperatures have been in the 30s here, and yes, I have noticed that after a few hours I feel like it's hot in this chair. You might try putting a towel on the seat and on the back to absorb perspiration and perhaps give you more 'breathability' than direct contact with the leather would do. Essentially, if in your country nobody uses leather furniture because it's just too hot, then this chair will probably not be a good idea for you.
