Every time I hear this I start crying, this little piece of music holds a very special place in my heart as I have all the memories of playing this game for so long. Every time I wanted to get away from life for a bit, I'd go to the temple of the moon and sit there, listening to this. It's so nice
The nastolgia hits me hard with this song, i used to go there and listen to the music and it kind of helped me feel at ease when everything else around me in real life wasnt going so well. It's a bitter sweet feeling.
I've always had a soft spot for the music in night elf areas. I stopped everything I was doing and just sat there in the temple to listen to this when it first met my ears.
Throughout my years of gaming I've discovered a few tracks across various MMOs that kind of stop me so I can listen. This has always been one of them. It's so calming and just ... serene. Even a little sad.

@@michellecallis7847 If you still want a music box cover, I put one up on my channel (don't wanna post the link as that seems rude to this channel). Not the same as hearing it live, but can put on a nice pair of headphones I suppose. As for making it play on a live music box, they use dotted tabs with punched out holes in them that you fun through the box, and it plays. If you dunno how to make the tabs, UA-cam has tutorials all over the place.
Nostalgia moment: As a mage, teleporting to Darnassus - hearing this music usually up until about 0:14 and then leaving the Temple and having the epic Darnassus music come into it at this perfect timing was always so cool!
There is a big contrast in the mood of music between the Blood Elves and the Night Elves. The blood elf music is beautiful, but there's also a sense of worry in the music considering their hunger for magic and their rivalry with the Scourge . However, the Night Elves music sounds more calming and graceful considering their strong connection with nature and their commitment to be healers (shown by their moonwells).
And then the Nightborne is similar to this music. It's ethereal, but you get this sense of urgency, a symbol of the problems and tension broiling under the veneer of elegance.
I was totally blown away the first time I heard this. It made me want to stop playing inside temples just so I could keep hearing the song. beautiful old times
Originally this was the music played at the end of the 'Lady Sathrah' quest line, when you placed her silvery spinnerets at the fountain inside the temple.
so.. peaceful, sometimes as a blood elf in wow.. I travel across sea and go in night elf territory just to hear this, also sometimes it plays in ghostlands, on the little island where night elves have colonized or set foot in, swim around there (lvl 15) and you can hear the music in a loop.. I relax there for hours thinking about nothing, letting peace surround me
Was the twist the Burning Legion being the most overrated, undeservingly feared and underwhelming demonic faction in all high fantasy settings since Abaddon the (H)armless revealed he was merely pretending being retarded?
Never thought wow would make me tear up, but that quest where you redeem the corrupted spider and see her at peace walking around in the spring coupled with this music.. Damn man.

This is one of those pieces of WoW music that instantly gets me choked up. Sadly I was never a Night Elf main, I had initially heard this song in the Ghostlands on a small island. Though I was a Blood elf, I couldn't help but be completely entranced in the music. Such a beautiful song.
i remember getting to play when i downloaded wotlk pirated in 2013 i think, it was 4am and i made it to the character creation screen, and bam, huntard night elven, it was epic walking thru the forests of shadowglen all by myself while i struggled doing the quests i had never even seen before. it really felt like i found a dreamworld where one could be at peace with nature. i would not be able to glance at this masterpiece of a sound up until 2019 or 2018, where i actually played the game and got to know the whole history of the game. Still my first playthrought felt like i was actually ingame, and such a strange feeling together with the fact i never played it, it was like i was supposed to be there experiencing, even if by my own on the whole server.

I remember i used to go to that fountain and sit there, waiting to be invited for the Icecrown Citadel 25Heroic raid. My guild was extremely famous in that server, they were first at pretty much any content back then but they had a lot of rotations among the tanks, so i didn't find much of a chance for a spot when i first joined. They usually prefered druid and death knight tanks and i was a paladin tank. They killed the Lich King every single week but they were wiping a lot because of the poor decisions of the tanks. Despite that, they weren't giving me any chance and i wasn't even asking. However, one day, one of the officers gave me a chance to be the main tank. Got invited but i was very nervous because it was my first run with that guild. Thankfully, we killed Arthas on first try without wiping and ever since i became their main tank every week. The story here is that everyone will eventually get their chances. In game, in real life... It'll find you eventually... And when it does, it's up to you how to embrace it. Ever since, this tune reminded me of having hope and staying strong in every aspect of my life. Faith eventually prevails if you stay strong enough to see it...
