I own the same model.love it... never had any problems with the car.. But yes definitely uneven wear on the front tyres Would recommend this car to anyone.. it’s got everything you need.. Power.. economy.. sports handling.. comfort.. looks... Ticks all the boxes..
Got 230 k on my aurion. Give it a hard time once every few weeks. No one can take me at the lights! Have had it 8 years and NO ISSUES so far…..looking for a TRD to buy now
Also my left front tyre seems to wear a shoulder on the tread causing the pull to the left. So I just rotate the tyres more often and that problem goes away. Besides that the car is incredibly reliable. I've has mine for more than 260K kms, had the sticky replaced and faulty oil feed line replaced by Toyota they were the only issues I've had in 10+ years
I have the smoke problem on my toyota aurion and even replaced the engine but it doesn't seem to go away. Replaced almost everything and the car still smokes and makes the whole neighbourhood white after starting.
One of the most reliable engines ever made along side the Ford falcon , we have a 2010 aurion with 320 thousand on it and have owned it for 5 years, regular oil changes and transmission flush and filter and they should do half a million kays, the go well plenty of power for a family car, only downside is that it doesn't handle like a rear wheel drive but thats ok I have other toys for having fun .
Question about the trans. I have an 06 model, I called toyota dealership and they said i dont need a trans flush but its not as smooth as it once was, what do i do or say to toyota? some people say dont touch it, others say to maintain it by servicing? im confused. thanks
Such nice cars, mine has a battery discharge issue at the moment. Battery is being drained by something. I've pulled fuses and still the battery is going flat over a few days. Nothing fused seems to stop it. Alternator is charging at +13volts at start up. Battery measures 12.7volts at shut down then next morning 11.8volts. Need to get it to an auto electrician. Very frustrating fault.
Got a 2010 Aurion Touring. Absolute weapon! IMHO the Aurions prior to the 2012 facelift looked much better! Well, there's this slight steering pull to the left. Any idea how I can fix it?
decent review mate, not sure if you have this but i drive a camry 2010, and biggest complain i have is the laggy throttle response, i dont know if that applies to your aurion, keen to know if its similar cheers
I just bought one 2007 in and my daily commute is about 22 KM up and down to my office that's it. I'm not raving it max 100km/h speed, the fuel average is showing 10 some times 11 km/l. Any idea 💡
11L/Km is equivalent to about 9 L/100km which is not bad at all for a 3.5L V6. There are few variables like road/commute type, temperature, idle time, driving habits, etc... also very important is the tyre pressure that for the sportivo version I suggest no less than 31 psi...
Hey bro, I've got an Aurion, same year model and everything, the cars absolutely amazing but it doesn't have any mods ATM, any recommendations on what I should start on?
I think Aurion is already a great car even in stock condition. I would only put some high quality sticky tyres under. I have seen using on YT after market mufflers make it sound amazing but again that's not my cup of tea... enjoy it the way it is and if you are after more power and fun... go TRD...
High flow cats (only for one of the cats). Straight pipe the mufflers. Add exhaust tips of your choice. Performance resonator. You’ve got yourself a v8 😂👍🏽
I believe the difference is only a facelift and not fundamental, so whichever you like more. Like most Toyota's Aurions are reliable and maintenance is minimal and easy.
I'm thinking of getting one of these. Can you describe your commute? 7ltr pert 100 sounds very good. What's the distance and speed zones of your commute? I live in country Vic with a 80km each way commute.
That's mostly highway with no traffic MPG. My all time average is 8.5L/100 km. But this was achievable because of torquey engine and 6 speed cruiser transmission.... great car all in all.
Hey mate. All these issues your had I have not had any problems with so far. The only issue is I had to replace a water pump that’s all. Other than that mine runs good as new
Thanks max. I got 07 and same colour. What a absolute heap of shit. After 40k to 120k this is what this super reliable 2gr-fe Toyota needed fixing. Water pump have to raise the engine to replace that. Toyota quote around $1500. Alternator. Well I hope your a mechanic for that job. Drive belt tensioner. You guessed it not for the home mechanic. Idle pulleys. Well ok that’s to hard. Replace rear vvt rubber oil pipe as they rot and split with age. And of coarse that sticky dashboard replaced. Toyota reliability well that is just a joke.
Sorry to hear that you have had these issues... I have had 3 Toyotas so far and almost half a million miles on them and not a single serious mechanical issue. V6 engine is hard to reach and work on most of the times and DIY is not always easy.
@@automachineheadXV50 Camry generation is a great cat too, the only variant in Australia is the 4 cyl, which might be a bit more economical though not as powerful, I would say they both consume the same amount of fuel on high way. Aurion Sportivo has more sporty and stiff suspention. Price wise XV50 would be much expensive as it only started from 2011. In Australia one can be picked at around 12K comparing to V6 Aurion that can be bought for half of than money.
Mine did the same thing, it was a faulty oil feed line that was made of plastic or something similar that failed. I had it replaced my Toyota for free but it may have still been under warranty. Once it is replaced and you didn't drive it with no oil, no problems
I have found that amount of city driving and tyre pressure have the most significant effects on fuel consumption.... make sure to keep the tyre pressure at least 33PSI all the time.
I owned a 2007 for 10 years and I never saw 16./100km or 7km/100km . I was usually around 13.5 in stop start city traffic . 8/100km on a long highway run . You don't buy a V6 for economy .
Thank you! I’m going to see one tomorrow as potentially my first car, hopefully I get to take it home! I’m already in love with this model.
Good luck 👍
One of the best first cars to get!
It really is...

Looking for get it as my first car oncr i come to AU. Any advices?
@@samith3198 makes great reliable car, but if you do a lot of city driving fuel consumption might be a an issue.
@@MaxReviewss yes I'm a student and fuel consumption is a big concern. How is fuel efficiency on this?. It is the only thing holding me back.
Depending on how you drive and highway / city ratio, between 7.7L per 100km to 12L...
I own one as my daily. Love it, I’m doing some mods to it to give it more oomph and noise.
Enjoy its performance and noise and I am sure it makes a great super reliable daily...
I own a 2013 Au Toyota sportivo sx6 and it’s amazing I love it
👍
I find the delay between the input of the accelerator and the response from the engine annoying.
I now automatically compensate by expecting the delay

Yes. Tyre and pulling to right was an issue for me.
I have the smoke problem on my toyota aurion and even replaced the engine but it doesn't seem to go away. Replaced almost everything and the car still smokes and makes the whole neighbourhood white after starting.
Can be an easy fix if the smoke clears after few min, check the cleanliness of valve covers and baffles
Valve stem seal...?
Best car I have owned 300017 thousand on clock changed water pump alternator and front disc
It's truly an amazing car...

The car is fixed!! Lumbar support electric switch short circuit draining the battery dead in two days.
I had a problem with lumbar support as well, but it was a mechanical issue. Good to know that you solved it.

You get better fuel economy the faster you go, like on a freeway/highway, just not stop start urban driving
thanks for the review,
I love the engines in these, If only they came out with RWD.
Agreed 👍

Pls Sir can you help me fix my toyota aurion 2008
Hi mate, what is wrong with your Aurion?
how do you manage to get 7 per 100. my touring is 11.2 per 100?
The answer lies in few things: Tyre pressure 35psi, light RH foot, no traffic and mostly highway driving...

That's great to hear... Toyota's reliability is amazing.
When you say "the Australian version of this car" do you mean the ones sold in Australia or made in Australia? I have a NZ new Aussie made Aurion
It means this Aurion in the video is built in Australia and it is not an import.

Should have gotten a Mitsubishi 380😅.
Do you reckon it's worth buying a used Aurion in Australia? Will the repair bill be high?
This makes a good reliable car specially for long distances and highway commutes. Just make sure oil is changed regularly (good service history)
