Hello all,
Welcome to a Victorian model railway exhibition video. Today we have the first of two videos covering this year's Australian Model Railway Association Victoria Branch's 51st annual model railway exhibition. This year the exhibition was held in the Town Square Pavilion at Showgrounds. Last year’s location was the Caulfield Racecourse main hall, but due to planned redevelopment, they were unavailable this year. The exhibition ran on the 5th and 6th of August, 2023 and gathered 57 stalls, of which 20 were operational layouts and 24 were traders, with the last 13 being either displays/dioramas or promoters from railway societies. The layouts were from eras all over the world and of sizes from N gauge to G gauge.
On Sunday, Elecrail, a subgroup of Steamrail Victoria, operated their preserved Tait train to shuttle visitors from the city to the venue.
In this video we begin with capturing the Tait on their first shuttle to the venue, then proceed with our coverage of the exhibits. We primarily look at the operational layouts, but also include few of the displays/dioramas as well. This part covers stalls 6-43. Most of the layouts in this part have previously been featured in other exhibition videos. The next part will continue from stall 46, with some yet-to-be-seen layouts.

This is the Australian Model Railway Association's 51st annual exhibition, one of the largest in the Victorian model railway industry. This year's event was held for the first time at Showgrounds. It also had various visiting interstate layouts like the Blue Mountains from NSW, and regulars like the club’s very own Maryborough.

Nice video mate. I was there on the Sunday as well. It was a great exhibition and the addition of the Tait set shuttles was fantastic. I ended up riding the Tait to get to and from the expo.
