    I have had these panels since they were released. I have hated that for a long while we were in limbo with the change from Unifi LED to Unifi Connect. I had no problem with the upgrade on my UDM Pro, but I did have LED installed, which may have made it a bit easier.
    I am really looking forward getting the integration into /Home (Bridge|Assistant)/i so I can control my lights from my smart home, esp now since connect is no longer in EA.
    It is sad they are not making these panels anymore but I am hoping that this is because of the world wire parts shortage and they will release updated versions as they lean more into Connect with all the enterprise of things.

      I am really wanting to get them into Home Assistant too, as that is the last part of creating an automated streaming setup for my office.
      I am pretty sure I made a bit of a mess of it too when I tried getting the panels into Connect. But at least I got there in the end 😁

      @@LarsKlintTech I would love to get this going. but I can't find any API documentation for Connect. so I am not sure what to do without doing some network packet capturing to see what is happening. I do suspect that it is a websocket since in the chrome inspector nothing is coming up when I turn the lights on and off.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  Рік тому

      @@gjheydon Yeah, capturing packets is fragile though, as they might change the protocol at any time. I am not sure what intergrations are coming, but considering it is "Enterprise of Things" I am hoping there will be some API endpoints exposed soon.

    I really feel for you having to go up into the loft space multiple times in Summer. I can see why in enterprise environments they have the ceiling tiles instead if you have to hit physical reset buttons (agh!)

      Thanks Steve 😂 It does get brutally hot up there.
      Yes, and with mulitple stories in a building it is much cheaper to just build those fake ceilings as well 😏

    Lucky that you were able to get them when you did, seems like they can't be found anywhere

      Yeah, I have heard that from a few people. I have seen them in a couple of online shops, and not sure if they are being replaced by another LCD panel either.

    How did you have a video of me trying to adopt my LED light? EXACT same path

      Glad to hear you got them working though. Did you also run the script multiple times with no result?

    Where did you get the lights I did not se it on their website

      I got them directly from Unifi a couple of years ago. I have heard they aren't available anymore, unless you can find them online somewhere else.

    I'm trying to do the same thing ,but when I click on 'adopt' the system asking me for a ' recovery code' where can I find that code? Thank you

      I am not sure. Have you tried resetting the device? Otherwise, Unifi support would be the best place to ask.

      @@LarsKlintTech yes I did reset them, now I've got to that point where I can able to "adopt" these devices, but when I click on "adopt" both of them just keep "adopting" but somehow not successful, and now I have no idea where to find any suggestions for this issue

    Has anyone had any luck getting these LED panels in home assistant? I want to try and get these controlled with motion detection. Doesn’t look like Unifi’s own smart sensors can even be used to control their own lights…

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  Рік тому +1

      I have tried various ways, but no luck so far. The best attempt I had was turning off the PoE and back on again to turn the panels on and off. This kinda works, but not well enough to be a solution I would use.

    I would have perfered if they would just allow third party smart lights plugs switches through a unifi "smartthings type of box" and focus on making the single pane of glass environment perfect.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  Рік тому

      Unifi doesn't integrate with other eco-systems as a general rule and IoT is a world of hurt (as we have learnt by now), so I get why they don't. Having said that, I'd love to get my panels into Home Assistant through some "smart gateway" of sorts too.

      Really? They've only just started developing unifi connect...why would they stop making the LED panels? If they have - then it could mean connect is a non starter...wouldn't be surprising given their track record

    • @gjheydon
      @gjheydon Рік тому

      @@andrewjohnston359 I am guessing that with the component shortage they stopped making them, and once they can get a good supply they will start building a v2. But this total speculation on my part, mainly because the LED panels have been ported to use Connect, which is there new shiny toy.
