My thoughts on the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 after one week of use, and I really like it. We talked about my issues with software support in the first video, but if you can get past that, it's a really excellent device to use. I love the $400 price point, and I love the compromises Moto made to get there.

Overall, for $400, it's a really good phone.
I've seen some horrendous reviews of last year's device, but this one is getting much better ones.
Honestly, the Nokia 920 sold me on plastic-back phones. I've always found glass-back phones to be unnecessary.
Same here I had the red one it was a great phone
The way you delve into devices made me subscribe. Real talk, no gimmiks, no frills. Just plain simple reviews and always on point. I already bought the a54 last year because of your review. Lol
I appreciate it!
So weird, Motorola used to lead the charge on updates. Well when Google owned them anyways. The first MotoG/Xs were just great little phones.
I got a unlocked version $200 with a trade-in of a junk phone that I don't use. I have a OnePlus 12 is my daily driver but this is going to be to check my trail camera SD cards. And my motorcycle stereo uses a 3.5 mm plug so this will be great crank and tunes down the road on my bike..
I got the moto free at Metro and i am soo happy with it! It is soo much better than anything moto release before by a mile
Battery 🔋 on this phone is unbelievable i get 10 hours of screen on time a day and goto bed at about 25%
I have the Razr Plus 2023 still on Android 13 lol.
Yupppppp
I have an IPhone SE 2020, I’m ready to move on, was thinking of trying android, my carrier will give me this phone for $150, the newer IPHONES are ridiculous in price and I can’t afford $24 a month for 3 years, would I be disappointed going from my SE to this?
Hard to say if you never used Android some people switch and love it some people switch and go back
😎💯💯💯
I paid 108 at Metro ❤
Not bad at all!
Damn you got a great deal. I just got mine for 160 yesterday at Metro

Me to waiting on mines to come in
I just bought it for $40 plus $15 plan from boost mobile (total $58.25) I hope it's a good phone for Pokemon go I've been using my moto g power 2021.
I absolutely love how you get right to the REAL points of these devices, especially the mid-range devices, that most people care about and utilize! My son, who's 28, got a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra for the same reason most people do........ Samsung's marketing! He wanted the most expensive phone and he got it! After 6 months, he's had two major glitches whereas he's had to send it in to get repaired and now he's in the process of warranty replacement phone. Also, he doesn't use NEARLY any of those 'extra' features that make the phone $1,400 00! He calls, texts, surfs the Internet and watches You Tube videos and seriously that's it! I don't understand some folk's thinking!
Alot of people get expensive phones with tremendously great cameras and snap pics of their dog you could do that on this mid range phone for so little money.
Nice!!! But @400$ Motorola edge plus 2023, Galaxy A55 or This G Stylus? I am having a hard time trying to figure it out. What are your thoughts? Or a Oneplus 12R open box?
5:16 oh boy hes not kidding, the quad lens camera on my 2021 Stylus 5G is a perfect example, i still can't believe Motorola put a fixed focus macro lens in this device, it has no tap to focus , no auto focus you just have to hold the phone exactly at the right distance for good macros and even then the photo quality of this lens is poor. (The main rear camera is decent at least) but glad to see Motorola putting more care into the camera setup with newer models.
This phone $69 at walmart and the power is $99 so why is a phone that was $100 more originally be $30 LESS THEN THE power?
I think you made extremely valid points and I agree with you on it all. Motorola should extend their software support to at least 5 years to show they’re trying to improve and be more like Samsung or Google. But at the same time, we got what we got so no need to dwell on it and it’s something Motorola can improve next year. As far as the phone itself goes, they made huge leaps forward and that’s what matters to me at least. They’re getting better at making solid devices that work well. As far as the always on display, I get why people want it and Motorola should give you that option. That’s a great idea for maybe extending the peek display though and perhaps they could allow you to set it as part of that always on option to put their spin on it. Thank you for being one of the handful of consistent content creators still covering this phone.
Yeah support is the room for improvement but there aren’t many $399 phones out there with so much quality as the Moto G Stylus 5g 2024. But I have a feeling if you are interested in this phone you likely know about the support and lack of a real ip rating. What I love about Motorola is reliability and how useful the Moto actions are. People exaggerate about the always on display it drains battery and I often turn it off. Peek display is way more useful way of interacting with your notifications while still getting all the functionality of an always on display. I also think the cameras on Motorola eventually will get all the AI features and processing of Pixels. Overall this device is easily the best in the price range. And I’d argue holds it’s own again more expensive phones too.
@@5150crazyfun very true bro. And you have to ask yourself, how much phone is enough to do everything you need it to and save money. This phone with a stylus beats the other option at over $1,300.
1.) carrier deals are good
2.) 6gen1 is no super SOC but it does the job
3.) build quality is EXCELLENT, the eco leather is great
4.) cameras are sufficient and better than last years stylus
5.) stock android experience and Moto gestures are a win
6.) this one is a huge surprise, the call quality is phenomenal
Get one of you can by carrier deals
$259.99 Metro pcs, i love this phone.
$200 with a trade in of a junk phone. Unlocked 256 gb
Such an awesome phone for the price if only Moto would give more software updates? If they Don't jump on the software update train they'll be left behind.
I love that faux leather back.
It feels good for sure.
Just got May security patch on my Motorola Edge 2023. Hopefully Android 14 is right around the corner. I totally agree that if the do eventually use always on display using the notification style they use now I wouldn't consider buying any other mid-range phone.
Definitely!
*The price will fall like an avalanche."*
one thing most Motorolas have that i don't like is the video recording, they split the file in multiple approx 3gb files when you transfer the footage to pc, i wonder if this one does that too???..i still have a Moto G Stylus 2021 version...still rocks today...i wish the bootloader could be unlocked so i can install a custom rom..but besides that, a very solid device
2:53 I did used the Note 9 Spen a bunch. Even with the Note20 Ultra too!
Just because you don't use it doesn't mean no one does
Right, no one is saying that. But is it worth 800 more? I'm saying for 400 this one does enough.

You did say "Nobody really uses..."
It's never too late for Motorola. To change their minds and update the years for software support. Samsung did it what, last year or the year before or a couple of years ago, when they update the years of software updates on some of their devices, so Motorola has the ability to do that. It's up to them to decide to do that. Are you gonna take care of the consumer or you gonna take care of yourself? In fact, my Motorola razor plus 2023 is still on Android 13.I did get a recent security patch for May 2024.But no android 14 that's crazy
Got for $317 on Amazon!
Excellent!
Nice phone. I will wait a while, as motorola always heavily discounts their phones.
It's free right now on metro you just pay the month
Hey Steve, since they're the same price right now, would you take this over the Thinkphone, or no?
Don't day the Spen is overkill, i use it everyday and many people does
I love Motorola devices but the software support is abysmal. My issue has less to do with how many updates they offer and more to do with the amount of time it takes Moto to release them. I've been using a Razr Plus and security patches typically miss the bi-monthly window. OS updates take almost a year and are full of bugs and glitches that are rarely addressed. I doubt I will still be using the Razr by the time A14 releases.
I'm moving away from using Motorola devices because stable software support is important to me. It's a shame because I love the designs and overall feel of Motorola phones.
Yeah, totally fair. It's not what it should be which stinks because the hardware is nice.
I look peak display. But I don't use AOD.
Love*
I'M TRYING TO HOLD OUT, FOR THE NEW ONEPLUS 40, I GOT THE NORD 30 5G! SHOULD I GET THIS MOTO STYLUS INSTEAD?????
Yes
@@bandrew8040 OK THANKS
Or just get OnePlus 12R 😁
It's a very tempting device especially with the stylus and the price, The main problem for most people or should I say for me is the only one android update.
For me its the lack of a strong charging adapter which most mainstream phones dont come with but still its better to have original then to buy a 3rd party one sadly.
@@Matcc excuse my ignorance but what's the charging adapter? Do you mean like it doesn't charge fast and it doesn't have wireless charging is my guess?
@@jejunamja
Charging adapter aka charging brick. It comes with useless cable but not with adapter which is annoying.
@@Matccyeah I get what you mean now like one plus gives you a really good charger with their phone and I'm trying to think of other ones that do but yeah it'd be nice if we got the charging brick with it definitely they're cheesing us out Apple started that now we all pay the price
Would you take this over a a35?
Personally, yes...I don't know why but I don't appreciate the 1380 in that for $400.
Thanks Imn in the market for a new phone and like the moto and a35 and can't seem to make up my mind
This phone or the Motorola edge 2023?
