I started collected a couple years ago. Some of my favorite finds at stores so far. Urban Reign, The suffering, The Thing, Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction, and NFL Street 2. So many good titles
good luck! I decided I'd collect all the consoles/video games that I grew up playing and enjoying recently also, so far, it's been great! I just wish prices for certain consoles and games were fairer ha-ha
Oh my god, I started doing *the same thing* like a week ago - buying all the games I either had as a kid, or always wanted to have, but never got the chance. Even though I've already played them by this point, there's something very special about getting the CD / DVD, reading what's on the box, checking out the manual, installing (if it's a PC title - some games from years ago had very elaborate installation programs), and then finally playing the game. It's much more impactful and meaningful when compared to how gaming works now. Sure, it's more "convenient", but when everything is done in seconds with a press of a button, I just don't feel like it's substantial enough for me to spend my time on. It probably sounds weird, but... for example, playing through Half-Life from a disc on PS2 teaches me patience again, as I sit there waiting for levels to load and disc to be read. It's a nice feeling. A feeling I missed so much. Don't know how to explain it, but it feels real good. Like I'm a kid again.
Now that I think about it... the reason why it feels good to sit there and wait for things to load - as if it's 20 years back again - is probably because of how hectic adult life is. Everything has to be fast, instant nowadays. Your job, your tasks, even your entertainment. Everything is given to you in a blink of an eye. There's no chance to pause, to think, to take it all in. And getting a speck of this feeling back is immense.
Yes, time has changed for worse unfortunately. You can see that nowadays people don't like to watch long videos anymore, that it's shorts videos and tik tok videos that everybody enjoy to watch. This shows that the human being is looking to run more and more over the years with this leaving a lot of great experiences. Thanks for watching the video.
