After watching many of your videos of various keyboard reviews, I finally went ahead and got myself the Yamaha PSR-E463 today. This is a major jump from the keyboard I was using before since it didn’t have velocity keys, nor did the voices sound that terribly great, nor did it have all of the neat features, styles, and other awesome things this keyboard has. Can’t wait to continue learning how to play the keyboard on this thing. Thank you Jeremy for helping me make a very informed decision in my purchase!
I'm just starting to learn piano and I'm using an old PSR 78 so I'm looking for something with touch sensitive keys and good sounds. I'm thinking of the E373 or the E463 How does the grand piano voice sound? It's difficult to tell watching a video.
Because the PSR-E463 does not have stereo (L/R) jacks, it lags behind other models in this class that have the stereo outputs. To get a decent amplified live sound you must run a TSR cable from the E463's phone / output to a Y (stereo to 2 mono) splitter - to 2 separate powered mixer channels (note: you cannot use a passive mixer as there will be no power from the keyboard), and the sound will still be subpar to the speakers clarity. Please Yamaha - on your next grade up (PSR-E473 maybe) - spend the couple dollars extra to put L/R stereo outputs for those of us who may wish to use this at a gig.

I'm getting the device in 2 days and have also ordered the _Audio Technica ATH M-50x_ studio headsets so that I'm able to understand the tones of the music better and more unbiased since I doubt that the device speakers will be of that high quality as compared to studio monitor headsets...

E373 built in teaching lesson. E400 range are made for close to DJing or you can still grand piano if play string or whatever. You do not have tutorial to play but you can use e463 for UA-cam teach
Hello, have you checked, does it supports .sty files with 4 intro/main/fill sections (ones that are used on PSR-E2000 and higher models), or still requires specific .sty files?

Don't worry. As long as it is an E-series, there will be lesson function and dictionary function. E stands for education. I will make a full video manual soon.
I am sorry. I stand corrected. The lesson and chord dictionary was available in the E453. But E463 it has been replaced by the audio playback and recording function. Yamaha apparently realised that those who buy the E453 have some music knowledge and don't use the lesson or chord dictionary, especially since the chords can be found by typing into Google in your smartphone. Personally, I have never used the lesson function or the chord dictionary.
Jeremy See Such a pity to remove some functions... I think I can deal without them. But I had planned to learn keyboard to my 6yo daughter. Do you have some advice for a 6yo child to learn keyboard?

Any way to adjust the contrast of the LCD screen ? When I'm sitting in front of the keyboard there is too much contrast, hard to see the screen, but if I stand at the vertical of the screen it is much better.
Hi the nice thing is that in this model the USB audio interface is already onboard. This means that you can record what you are playing for instance on a computer with Audacity if you connect your keyboard to your computer with an USB printer cable. You don’t need any external audio USB interface at all.

Unfortunately, no. I've talked about the reflectivity of the screen before. It's not good
I've no problem with reflectivity indoor but the contrast is too high and depends on the vision angle.

All those keyboards you mentioned are about same size as E463. Wait and see if the super portable CT-S series launching next month fits your needs.
