The Intro is better in Black, its sharper The subtitles are better in Black The fire is better in Black (Sigma is too yellow) Sigma has too much light Indoor areas look better in Black (look at the walls) Some textures look sharper in Black Ayane looks so much better in Black (her eyes look glued on in Sigma) I would choose Black over Sigma any day O yeah one thing I hate the freaking Rachel mission in Sigma (wish I could skip them)

I like her mission but at the same time it is better to simply play the game without switching to her. I wish she was just in mission mode only. She is fun to me but better in the sequel.
I just finished my play through of sigma 1,2 “ master collection” working on 3 I think the Xbox versions are better sigma 2 has no blood I don’t know about sigma 3. I remember the Xbox version being brutal.
There is no Sigma 3. There was Ninja Gaiden 3 which was not good then there was Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge which is much better. That’s the version in the Master collection
I like Sigma (never had an XBox so I can't compare) and am really impressed by Black doing it what it does on original XBox hardware. Sigma has much more appealing scenery, and the music during the second fight is exciting. But I have to say, that should be the first fight. Sigma's addition of a fight the second you start the level seems like such a huge, beginner mistake. One, the player has zero time to learn the controls before getting attacked, whereas in Black you get time to run and jump and might press an attack button and start discovering combos. Two, Ryu's surprise at having two ninjas jump him...well, doesn't make sense for Ryu, but does make sense for the player. Except in Sigma, Ryu just fought two ninjas, so the dramatic introduction of enemy ninjas feels a little late. This is a masterpiece, but it always seemed so weird to me that it started this way, and even weirder when I learned this was a change from the original.
I personally love Sigma. I only played Black for so long on the Xbox back then so I guess once I had gotten the PS3, that particular version had more hours in. Overall, it would’ve been neat to have a nicer mix up between the original and new. Not many of the changes are exactly overkill so I’m glad they made something great anyways.
I like both but Ninja Gaiden Black just looks better aesthetically to me. And I dislike some changes the PS3 remake changed too from music, graphic effects, and so on. For example, Ryu's after images seem less flashy and the Kitetsu special effects (like when it splits into separate blades) during some animations seem dull and lazy.
Sigma 1 master collection is superior. Die hard black fans just have nostalgia goggles on. Either way, support which ever version of the game so that the developers make a sequel or remake.

Black looks so much better from a visual sense... I can't explain why, but it really does. Maybe it's more consistent and flows better? The colors are more muted?
Ng2 makes for a more interesting comparison, since nobody denies black is the version of ng1. I have only ever played sigma 2 but a lot of what I hear seems contradictory or confusing in terms of how it's different from og ng2.
Played both. Og ng2 is way better. Way more enemies on screen, they removed the boss fight with the two giant fire rat things. Body parts and blood everywhere. If you have a 360 I would highly recommend tracking a copy down. Wish I never got rid of mine now.
I wonder if everybody that hates the sigma game is a real NG fan, or just a hardcore xbox fanboy. I have played all versions of this game, even the first version of ninja on og xbox and sigma on ps3, to me, ninja gaiden sigma master collection is the definitive version of ninja gaiden 1, plus, the best ninja gaiden game of all time until now.
I don’t hate ninja gaiden sigma. I think I just prefer the campaign as just ryu. the experience feels a lot smoother and cohesive instead of being interrupted by alma missions. Also although sigma looks vibrant and pretty at times for example the beginning seen. I definitely prefer the more blue and grey tones than the yellow and red tones. Yes it looks pretty but I don’t think that means it fits the feel of a barren village. Small changes like that make me like black more. I do like both but I will always prefer the continuous campaign as ryu and the more dark and bluer tones. Also sigma has a lot of bloom and makes rooms and areas much brighter than they need to be
I was always a playstation guy and still am and the only xbox I ever got was the xbox360...just a couple days ago I finished all three games from the collection on very hard and even tho they´re good there´s no doubt in my mind that the Xbox versions are superior especially NG2 compared to Sigma 2...Sigma 2 almost feels like a completely different game from NG2 it´s also way easier
@@ScientologyHunter2 Sure, everybody knows NG2 is the better for a lot of reasons, but we are talking about NG1 here. There's literally nothing special in black to be superior than sigma, not gore, not enemies on screen, not weapons, not story, not graphics, nothing. I don't have any problem with people that admit they prefer black because of their nostalgia, but those who keep saying that black is better "because it is", its just dumb to me.
The copium needed that you people spit out like ‘nostalgia is the only reason you don’t like the game I like more’ is astounding but also pretty pathetic
The first scene when the evil dark dragon blade appears, it´s like the screens are in the wrong place, I play the ninja gaiden black version in a series S and it´s look horrible. In sigma looks much better
It's weird. Sigma definitely looks better with outside environments but when you go inside, it's a different story. Some rooms look better on Sigma and some look better on Black. Not as cut and dried as you would think.
Sigma have better saturated colors and contrast and that's all. Just from beginning they cut waterfall and other taxing effects for PS3 and leave these changes even this even on PS4. Look at the water in Tairon - just awful! Looks even worse than on PS Vita and PS3 - HUGE pixels on PS4!Thats sad :/ Water on OG Xbox looks so much better and have physics (Aqueduct level). I am a big fan of the original NG for Xbox (without camera control but harder version) and Black. These games are better on Xbox One X in true 4K/60fps than this lazy collection with "dynamic resolution" and huge framedrops on Switch (just like PS Vita port). I know the diffierences because have and played every version (Xbox, X360, XOX, PS3, PS vita and PS4 PRO now).
I have them all as well. I was disappointed to learn the collection was gonna be the Sigma versions of the 1st 2 games. Tecmo Koei states they “couldn’t salvage the original code”. Which sounds like a poor excuse to other issues.
That's NOT all. Check 5:08, and you can see the light rays from the windows literally just disappear as it transitions from Black to Sigma. Don't downplay stuff.
Sigma looks like dogshit with all that bloom. Good thing on PC you can remove the bloom with a mod. Overall Sigma looks like the ugly ps3/xb360 era of games, which in my opinion is the ugliest looking generation of games. Clearly one of those painful transition periods where you barely have the hardware power to run higher res textures but not enough to make them actually look good. NGB takes the W all the way. Sigma also forces you to play as Rachel for a couple chapters which is stupid. Nobody wants to play her, literally nobody. Bought Sigma yesterday and I am dissappointed to say the least when it comes to graphics and cut content like that extra street in Tairon.
If a new ninja gaiden comes out. if it had sigma and blacks combat with better bosses. Just period better bosses. Not unfair spamming bosses not. gimicy jump around 100 times bosses. But like 2021 quality bosses like in seikro. they PERFECTED the combat 20 years ago. I wanna see it with a 2021 face lift. Seikro quality in a Ninja G game

I got the master collection and I got to say the first game is vastly inferior in terms of movement and dodging. Also the fire effects look much worse in sigma (notice the torches fire animations) and graphically has worse textures. That coupled with the fact that they removed the puzzles, and made the game overall a lot easier. Correct me if I’m wrong but you can’t carry more than one talisman of rebirth in black. Ninja gaiden 2 sigma is on another level of crapiness though. Very bad graphics, no gore, less costumes to unlock, easier game on the whole. You should never change what was considered at the time the greatest action adventure game of all time (vanilla NG2) and perhaps still is. Regardless, the collection is decent enough for those who can’t get the xbox versions, just a shame that newcomers have to play this as an introduction to the series.
Huh? The movement was not changed from black. I have 100s of hours logged in black. I would know. The gameplay itself is identical. And NG2 was ripped by reviewers as being inferior to black. So idk where you get this idea that it was a beloved game by the masses. A lot of people didnt like it. I also thought it was kinda meh compared to black.
On Master Ninja difficulty Sigma only lets you carry one talisman of rebirth just like in Black, and in a lot sections the game is actually harder than Black so idk where this idea comes from that Sigma is just so much easier unless you only played on normal. Also who cares about the puzzles it's a Ninja Gaiden game, 2 ended up ditching them entirely
@@datdudecritical_5070 the fire and water animation are a hell lot worse in sigma. It looks too bright in level 1 and you can see some nasty textures here and there.

_They upgraded the blood splatter and it stay forever on the ground from black to Sigma 1
_But decided to censor it when it came to Vanilla NG2 to Sigma 2
Wtf this is dumb
For the price of Ninja Gaiden Black, you can get the Master Collection. Black and Razor's Edge (plus the VITA versions) are kinda' up there in value.
If you still have a 360 then NGB is still available to buy for $9.99. Don’t know how long the 360 store will be available but Microsoft hasn’t stated that they’re cutting support any time soon.
I can't get on the back of Sigma. Even the font they use for text just looks boring.
And the light rays just disappearing at 5:08. Bad ports have been around forever, but it's sad people still support them.
1:32 wtf?
Why does the Black version, that runs on an Xbox, looks way better than the one running on a PS 3?
I've been playing NGB since I was a kid, played sigma for the first time thanks to the master collection, and although it's considerably easier, I enjoyed it.
Sigma 2 however, is a fucking mess, no blood, no challenge, no fun
And that sums it up
original NG2 has god awful green cave, god awful worm boss and lame puzzles
@@GrumpyCat97 Two things you don't really like is a far cry from an overhauled combat system that just doesn't work. Sigma combat is completely broken and boring
no challenge sigma 2. Ok, go on master ninja and enjoy 1shots from grabs and etc. No challenge. Kids this days need stop play games on easy mode
@@Dielock123 easy games is no fun. bunch of checkpoints and health regeneration
Just replayed black last year. Man, I wish we could get another one.
One of the reasons I bought the collection in the hope that it will encourage a new Ninja Gaiden. Or maybe Itagaki makes something original. He has stated that he is willing to work with MS again 🤷🏻♂️
@@DeadPanGamingtv respectable. I repurchased black and 2 on the Xbox game store instead as I don’t really want to play the sigma versions.

@@DeadPanGamingtv right on. I’ve heard rumors Nioh and Nioh 2 were sort of testing the market for a full fledged ninja gaiden reboot. With the success of the souls franchise it would be nice to see an alternative hard af slashing game with a faster pace. Especially considering dmc5’s success as well.
They both look awesome
Thank you. But we really needed this one for Sigma 2 instead.
Uploading that video very soon.
Black ( Xbox classic?) Sigma the last collection? since Xbox 360, Xbox one?
Thanks for checking out the video. I'm not sure what your questions are but in an attempt to answer. Black is an original Xbox game, that was played on the Series X for this video. Sigma, is the version in the Master Collection, which is essentially just a port of the PS3 port of Ninja Gaiden but by a different director.
Hope that helps.
To be honest, Black does a lot of things better than Sigma.
The Intro is better in Black, its sharper
The subtitles are better in Black
The fire is better in Black (Sigma is too yellow)
Sigma has too much light
Indoor areas look better in Black (look at the walls)
Some textures look sharper in Black
Ayane looks so much better in Black (her eyes look glued on in Sigma)
I would choose Black over Sigma any day
O yeah one thing I hate the freaking Rachel mission in Sigma (wish I could skip them)
Those Rachel missions are terrible. She is way to clunky and it feels like a cheap add on.
Noob player 😂😂😂
Sigma has more things:
- has more blood
The camera You can swich as You want
- the final soundrack when u fight with murai is better
- Fast menú with items
-OMFG the time when u star playing in ps5 or Xbox SX is soo fucking Fast i love it 😍😍🙌
- you can skip Puzzles
You can run un the watter and use the bow un the air!
I love Sigma is better and i can play un real 4K native is solo beautifull 🙌🙌🙌
I like her mission but at the same time it is better to simply play the game without switching to her. I wish she was just in mission mode only. She is fun to me but better in the sequel.
I just finished my play through of sigma 1,2 “ master collection” working on 3 I think the Xbox versions are better sigma 2 has no blood I don’t know about sigma 3. I remember the Xbox version being brutal.
There is no Sigma 3. There was Ninja Gaiden 3 which was not good then there was Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge which is much better. That’s the version in the Master collection
Sigma? More like Ligma.
NG2 sigma was my favourite out of all of em
Wow, I personally prefer almost everything Sigma offers over Black when it comes to this video

As a long time fan, buying the master collection to show I want a new game was a big part of my purchase decision. I hope they do make a new game of some sort.
looks like somebody has delusional googles on i would take the time to explain to you the mutlide of reasons for black being superior to NG04 and NGS/+ but it would its too much brain power to waste on somebody who thinks 'nostalgia googles' is the reason LOL lil hint* Side and back dodges don't have I-frames ill let u figure that one out

Sigma 1 is better than black! The facts are cause Yoo Many advantages and nostalgic 💙🥴👌👌
Somebody needs to check their facts, as the reason they went with the Sigma version is due to the data of both Black and NG2 being incomplete.

Seems better to me too but I heard that Black has a new game plus.
Ng black for the og xbox all the way

Black has some nicer lighting effects and reflections ect. The new trees and other changes are cool on sigma but I prefer ng black.
The sigma is better , but the black have more costumes this sigma us a remasterd of version of vita , i like to see this new versión vs PS3 i have this new colectan but i dont remember how looks the PS3 side by side
Black had ninja
gaiden arcade and maybe it's just me but black was harder on ninja master mode.
Ninja Gaiden black is the best iteration of Ninja Gaiden 2004. No question, No disagreements.
The reason I bought an Xbox
Not gonna lie, I played ninja gaiden 1 so late into its life. Finally played it a few months ago and it’s so odd how different the game became with 2. I enjoyed it a lot more I feel just because of how the combat was for some reason
Why everyone hate the Sigma versions of 1&2, exactly?
i dont hate either version myself but i'd say its because they are quite different, thats about it
there are some things here and there that are objectively worse like blood being censored and the removal of content, but there are also objectively better things like higher resolutions, better framerates and more playable characters/weapons.
overall it all comes down to preference, just dont go around bashing on other people because they prefer the version you dont lol

i prefer the black cutscenes way more, on sigma seems like they just put n overall blur on everything but it does make it more hd
also the aspect ratio on a ton of stuff is changed heres a big example 1:53
Black looks so much better from a visual sense... I can't explain why, but it really does. Maybe it's more consistent and flows better? The colors are more muted?
Better shading and over all design.
very good comparison
Ng2 makes for a more interesting comparison, since nobody denies black is the version of ng1. I have only ever played sigma 2 but a lot of what I hear seems contradictory or confusing in terms of how it's different from og ng2.
Played both. Og ng2 is way better. Way more enemies on screen, they removed the boss fight with the two giant fire rat things. Body parts and blood everywhere. If you have a 360 I would highly recommend tracking a copy down. Wish I never got rid of mine now.
Its like night and day...
dubup dishhh!
The copium needed that you people spit out like ‘nostalgia is the only reason you don’t like the game I like more’ is astounding but also pretty pathetic

where is the water in sigma version of the beginning?
The first scene when the evil dark dragon blade appears, it´s like the screens are in the wrong place, I play the ninja gaiden black version in a series S and it´s look horrible. In sigma looks much better
Both scenes were captured running on a Series X. The original Black and the Master collection Sigma.
Sigma has more effects than Black. The waterfall change is just a art direction change. The water does look awful in Sigma, even when it came out.
black looks more nostalgic. too bad I just bought sigma 1 and 2 lol
Black is better
Ninja gaiden black is the most perfect ninja gaiden game.
