As a paramedic and amateur body builder , I have got a chronic trigger point in my left rhomboid. It stands about 1.5 years. I tried physical therapy, dry needling, massage, acupuncture, electrical acupuncture, tens , streching, actually ı triend everything expect prp, diprospan and dextrose. We choose dex with my ortopedic surgeon . We did it 3 days ago . For remember my pain score was 7 . I will update what will happen in next days.
Prolotherapy has saved my life. Dealing with fibromyalgia for 25 years (since childhood). Currently have costochondritis as well due to working out. Been doing prolo injections for 6 years and has saved my life.
@@LeeNeitzelit takes a few treatments to get to the sweet pain free spot but once I’m there it can be months, years etc it all depends on if I choose to over do it with things that aggravate my body physically I may get a fibromyalgia flare up here and there but I go back to get the prolotherapy and am pain free for months again, almost instantly.
This is a VERY interesting application of dextrose injections beyond ligaments ,tendons and joints . It should be useful to see the anatomical evolution in the trigger points with a follow-up few weeks after the treatment with an US evaluation, I'll check the studies you've mentioned .Thank you..
I've had the prolotherapy on my right shoulder. I had the choice of Dextrose or HGH for the injection. I chose the latter and had two courses of injections 2 months apart. Both times I got several injections in various places around my shoulder joint. I also received Rolfing which is very beneficial for releasing tight muscles. The injections and the Rolfing have helped reduce my pain significantly. I had gotten to a point where my shoulder pain would wake me 3, 4, or 5 times every night lasting for months. Now I don't experience any discomfort during sleep. It was not cheap, I spent $1500 for those two sessions. But much cheaper than what I've been quoted for PRP injections here in Colorado. The local outfit wants $4000 to $8000 per joint treated.
Hello Doc, have you ever had patients with Ehlers Danlos syndrome? My question is, is PRP or prolotherapy safe for patients with mast cell issues? MCAS to be exact. In case someone has a bad mast cell reaction, can antihistamines be taken or do they counteract PRP/prolo? Thank you.
Hi Dr. Peng I have trigger finger issues in both hands ive had steroid injections twice in both hand it helps for a little while but pain comes back after few months am suffering. Where do you suggest I should go for treatment???

@@ritam6116 How long does the relief last? Do you go for months without pain after the injection therapy?

The concentrate of dextrose is 15% or more?
Can dextrose injection be guided with fluoroscopy?
Or just with ultrasound
Thanks a lot

Best to discuss with your health care provider if you have questions, good luck
Do you have an office in NYC IN MANHATTAN
Until they come up with a 100% sure fire way to elminate all the trigger points dry needling will remain superior to injections.
Getting the twitches is key!

What about those with low-level (Ha!) autoimmune issues who are already flaming up hard?
In theory it should still be ok!

Thanks!
