I doubt, Mazinger technically exists in the Grendizer continuity, but it was unused because it was a last moment choice

I think there´s enough space for a Groizer X cameo too (the original, not that evil version from Shin Mazinger) since its protagonist was basically a gender-bended Duke Fleed (Rita).

I really wish and would hope that "Grendizer U" would someday have a music score opening inspired by the classic original UFO Robot Grendizer theme song performed by Isao Sasaki, to have that nostalgic call back.
And similar to the 2023 game version of "UFO Robot Grendizer - The Feast of the Wolves" by Endroad, published by Microïds, the music score was composed by Marcin Przybylowicz, which he made the game's theme song after that classic tune.
Maybe as a theme in middle of a battle, I hope.

Isao Sasaki isn't retired, or only partially at best. He had a song in Zenkaiger - I'm hoping he comes back for some music, even if it's just a new rendition of the opening theme
It has Kohei Tanaka who's delivered a lot for the mecha genre in the OST field, so perhaps he may even honour Kikuchi who he once worked under.

I honestly can't tell whether my fellow Italians will consecrate this as the greatest remake ever made or revile it as much as DB Evolution. We have quite a history here with the original Grendizer and nostalgia blindness runs rampant towards any anime on tv during the 80s

What blindness are you talking about? When you remake something you're supposed to enhance it, not to make it worse than the original for the sake of being modern. Look at the characters, mere sketches of kindergarten children, and the robots sequences would do for an average videogame. I mean, I didn't demand a Gundam-like quality, but this is worse than the Pokemon.

Those characters look like kindergarten children? You literally never saw a child in real life, I can tell.
And I can see that the new designs are different than the older ones, but this is not a reason to consider them bad.
Daisuke looks younger, but Daisuke is technically younger (20) than how Toei portrayed him so I am not sure that the mistake is made by the U series.

I don't think that's what remaking means.
Technically you don't know but it's not that hard to make a better Grendizer series than the Toei one. U's designs are controversial but other than that nothing says the story won't be better.
In the end we love the characters for what they do.
So either stop being a dramatic toxic fan or simply shut up.
Because it's absurd that you have to remind us of your hate for this anime so much.
If you don't like it don't watch it.
Oh and Remember: Grendizer was made JUST for money already in the 70's or Koji wouldn't have existed there.

GO Nagai select the biggest name in japan to work on this project, i watched the official concert for announcing the project in japan, he said that he will put all his weight to introduce a great anime, its a totally japanese project, the saudi company is responsible only for marketing the project in all the world except japan
its been 48 years since the original anime, they don't care about the old generation opinion, they are targeting the new generation
many people like the new design and find it amazing while most of the old one (including arabs) doesn't like the duke fleed new look or the new music style,
I Found the robot design very cool and the story looks promising
and many thanks for GO Nagai and the Saudi Company to re-introduce the king of space in the modern era

@@minicle426 Best it will get is a live action movie, it was partially a Sunrise production as well and that studio normally doesn't do remakes of old mecha anime series they worked on.
Band-Maid brought me here. Looks like an updated Showa era Giant Robot anime.
Because it is. The original anime, UFO Robot Grendizer, came out in the 70s as a spin-off to Mazinger Z, the first Mecha anime.

@@donkichu6423 I know of Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger and knew there were more but those cartoons were not available to me as a child. My first giant robot anime to watch and "transformer" was Raiden who went from robot mode to God-bird mode.

As an industrial designer I've always believed that Grendizer was a better design than Mazinger or any other big robot from the Go Nagai universe. Even Duke Fleed's uniform and origin story is awesome. Can't wait for this!!!

The mecha appearing at 1:12 is actually a re-design of Gattaiger, the "prototype" of Grendizer that was featured in the 1975 short movie by Go Nagai known as "Uchū Enban Daisensō", literally "Great War of The Space Saucers".

I was hoping for a sequel myself but still I can't wait for this I want more grendizer... they changed everything but I'm ok with it if they make logical changes and also make grendizer itself stronger with upgrades after some episodes instead of spazer combination. one thing that'll never change is that the original duke (first 30 episodes) will always be the best for me.
This too much, a part of my childhood inside me awakens and I'm so grateful to watch it again at my current age (50's++)😢❤

so far this is looking really good! i was a bit skeptical at first but I definitely have hopes this will be good, I’m not super familiar with Grendizer as i am with Mazinger/Getter Robo but just seeing all this now just has me happy we’re getting a super robot anime in current day.
also seeing Koji and Mazinger Z making an appearance is awesome, hopefully we actually get the final dynamic special but I’d hope that’s not a stretch.

I'll love that new version as the graphics are high resolution and clear and warm and not too contrasted, but still same as original one with very little new exotic graphic effects. But where is uncle Dumby? don't tell me that you forget him on purpose!!

@@VoidSpecter080technically, they already did It once. When Z lost to the mycenean army and Great appeared, Z was rebuilt and powered up with the chogikin new Z that Great was built with. So if they want to actually having Mazinger lose still, but keep beeing relevant, they could Just go the route of Koji studying the technology used for Grendizer and upgrading Mazinger more. Heck, you could use it as a plot point for introducing chogikin new Z alpha (the superalloy used for Kaiser), so you can first have a "trial run" of the new alloy with Z in this, and eventually lead into a proper Mazinkaiser serie.

So for the look of it Grendizer is holding the head of Mazinger Z so i guess he will not be in the show for long gives an explanation that Koji pilots the TFo and the double spazer later on (?). man i was hoping to see both Mazinger Z and Grendizer fight a long side, but this hurts me a lot seen how bad Z's heads look.

I'm just happy to see Mazinger Z on another modern production. I couldn't careless for Great Mazinger, nor Grendizer, but the OG Mazinger, that is another thing. That being said, I can get on this and possibly enjoy it as long as they don't mess around Mazinger.
So, the question I have is... is this going to be the usual Mazinger Z who gets the Worf Effect to show how powerful and dangerous the new enemy is and get wrecked in the early part of things? Or is this going to be Mazinger Infinity Mazinger Z, where Duke Fleed needs to ask Koji to leave a few for him to fight?
@@IsilmeTuruphant Since this is Grendizer, I figure that Mazinger might be wrecked. Not my favorite thing to happen to it cause to me, no matter if the others got popular too like Great Mazinger or Grendizer, Mazinger Z and by extension Mazinkaiser are my favorites. But you know, infinite universes as presented on the Mazinger Infinity OVA and even the Shin Mazinger Zero Manga.

From what I gather, this is being heavily financed by Arabia. And Grendizer is 'big' over there. Far more so than Mazinger. So I don't really expect Z to overshadow the title robot. You can even see what appears to be Grendizer holding its head at 1:31.
@@minicle426 You do realize that I never said nor implied for Mazinger to overshadow Grendizer, right? I clearly stated that though I don't care for Grendizer, I hope that they don't mess up Mazinger Z on this. I know that Grendizer, and Great Mazinger have their fan base, me on the other hand, from Go Nagai's works I'm a fan of Mazinger Z, by extension Mazinkaiser (though he didn't create that one, and he still accepted him into his mythos), Koutetsu Jeeg and Gai King.
That being said, though I'm not a fan of him, I know that Grendizer's fans need their Favorite Mecha to have its show, and I can get on this OVA because it has Mazinger Z but I wish that they don't mess him up, even when Grendizer is the main character.

Io non riesco proprio a farmelo piacere. Il chara di evangelion è un pugno in un occhio e la CG rende tutto come se nuotasse in acqua.. lento e intangibile. Anche le musiche mi paiono molto anonime. Spero con tutto il cuore di essere smentito dal prodotto finale.

My dad used to watch Mazinger Z as a kid, but he never watched Great or Grendizer, so now, with Shin Grendizer/Grendizer U, whatever you wanna call it, I can watch this show with my dad.

In the Japanese version of the Official Trailer, there is a lot of talk about the opening of GLAY, a famous rock band in Japan, but in the English version of this Official Trailer, there is no comment at all. On the other hand, the use of BAND-MAID in the ending is overflowing with comments from "masters" (B-M fans). As for the important anime, just like in Japan, there are already noticeable unpopular opinions and concerns among the generation of the original anime in the 1980s, but I definitely hope that this new anime will be a hit, and that BAND-MAID's wonderful songs will also be hits. Thing.
