- You can learn "La Valse d'Amélie" on Flowkey! tinyurl.com/pandatooth-flowkey
From the soundtrack of Amélie, this piano piece by Yann Tiersen is an old favorite of mine! I learned it years ago, and I finally thought I'd share it with you guys. With Synthesia visuals! It's still one of my favorite pieces to play on public pianos. Let me know what you think!

This one it was the first song I learnt nine yeats ago. Basically this song is the reason why I started to play the piano. I love it!
🧢
There is no way this is your first song bruh unless you taught yourself
When I watched this video for first time, i said to myself i need to learn it. Finally mastered this song!!
Julia Mrógała how long did it take you to learn?
@@leilaashrafi6145 about 2 weeks
Nice
This song is actually easy. Just learn left and right hand seperately. Left hand seems complex but you'll get used to the pattern. The song is made of patterns so start slowly and work your way up. Person who is reading this, dont give up
00000 000001 I really needed to read this, thanks!
agreed really easy . practice
Rhyme intended
I am going to learn this piece this week, thanks for the tip!
Youre absolutely right, just finished learning the fast part until the bridge part with the left hand
What a nice little song I bet a can play it
0:42 nevermind
Not nearly as hard as it may look. You might be better off learning it from the sheets.
Yep, on surface it looks hard, but once you look into the sheets, it's easy to learn the technique
Just keep practicing one hand at a time and you’ll get it. :)
I thought the same until I played it. Actually pretty easy to get the technique
@@ellanimblett8489 I practice a lot with one hand. Don't understand how it helps my piano skills though
Let me know if you like these type of videos!
I love it, this way I know how to move my hands properly
Beautiful performance, and I like seeing you explore more styles. This angle on the hands isn't quite as "cinematic" to watch imho, but it makes it easier to track what the fingerings and hand movements are. Also, I'm *really* not a fan of Synthesia and hope you keep up with releasing sheet music of your arrangements instead of relying more on this program. It's undeniably popular, but it's such a dead-end way to learn piano and seems to trap new players into very basic skills :/
Thanks for your input! Just so you know, I don't see these videos as a replacement for sheet music, I'd definitely still be making those. Just depends on how much time I have to transcribe stuff! But makes sense with this being a more "informational" angle.
Yes, thank you for using the piano audio instead of synthesia. IMO its not worth another video to do synthesia with worse sound quality.
DEFINITELY YESS
It makes me so happy to see you play a music from Amélie Poulain. I'm french, for us this film is a classic, and it's always fun to see how it is popular in other contries.
The soundtrack is super popular here in Switzerland!
Movie is super popular in Brazil too, we still have some of this "cool shirts" stores selling shirts with the face of Amelie
This is the kind of music that inspires me when I imagine going on an epic adventure.
Me too! Especially the orchestral version of this piece on the soundtrack!
Hard but not as hard as you think! Practice practice practice!
True i finished learning the whole song in a week :)
Nice! how much experience do you have? i spent 2 weeks learning comptine dun autre ete. but i wanted that to be the first song i could play and i hvae been playing for almost 2 weeks now. Ive got it done for like 70-80% but i really want to learn this one when im done with that one so i wondered how long it took you
It took me a week to learn this song because i broke the song down into section so like i wood practice the beginning for a day or two then when i am confident i will move on to the next part. i have been playing piano for 3 months and the songs i can play and should recommend are: nuvole bianche, River flows in you, fur elis and la dispute. Hope you have a great day :)
Silas Prins what?! i finished comptine dun autre ete in 5 hours
I'm very new to piano and I'd love to play this song. I'm finding 0:43 very difficult. I suckkk😂
I just can't describe how much i love this song
Yann Tiersen is such a good composer!
Everyone talks about how 0:43 it's the difficult part when i struggle the most with 1:46 bc my arms are so tired that i can't keep up anymore...
Im not even into piano music but every single time those high notes come in it brings tears to my eyes.
Well played
This is my favorite Yann Tiersen song EVER. It’s so cool to see it played! Thanks for making this video!
This is one of my favorite piano songs, and you play it beautifully! Well done!
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! Amélie is one of those films that inspired me to do film & I'm really REALLY happy you made this cover. Hope you do more from the Amélie soundtrack!
Thank you for making this video!! I love this type of videos!
I forgot this song's name and didn't expect it when I clicked the video. By 0:05, I was feeling all the feels. Ugh. Thank you.
This is one of my fav songs! I play the movies main song every day
I’ve been waiting for this my whole life. Thank you.
God I love this song so much! You always pick out the most beautiful songs to cover.
Omg, complication of my two favourite music things in the world - ThePandaTooth and Yan Tiersen
I will be recording some Yann Tiersen next week so came here whilst looking for inspiration. Great work!
And what with your recordings?:)
Beautiful, perfectly played!
I’ma ask 2 things
1: can you put this into blue *and* green, any hand you want
2: can you pirates of the Caribbean?
Miple 720 no i cant pirates of the caribbean
so amazing
I do not know this song but it is pretty amazing how music is spread and loved, when you don't know the lyrics or how it sounds. Enjoyed this pretty well, music is surely universal! Lovely playing, the chord progression are beautiful! Yes, please do experiment with new covers! 💓
Marvelous cover, Panda! 😍💝
Thank you! And congrats on 1K Subscribers!!
ThePandaTooth Thank you soo much! 💝
Honestly speaking, I never thought I would make it this far! The first Piano Cover I ever heard on UA-cam was your cover on Dragon Racing from HTTYD! I've been practicing since then! And I am pretty sure I am not the only one inspired by your covers!
So you shall have a special place in my life, thank you too! It is a milestone achieved by all of us! 💝
Roses are red

Tu joues merveilleusement bien, c'est rare,👏👏👏
Could you do one with Comptine d'un autre été?
yes
The full version
Full version and Kyle Landry PLEASE
It's too ez to play but it's too good for listen
The normal version is but Kyle Landry I think its hard
i love thi so much
It's funny how La valse d'Amélie is actually not a waltz
Not the beginning
But when it becomes faster it's a waltz.
@@entoncesthepadre it's not cuz it's faster mean it's a waltz:) and he right, it's not..
What its a 4/4 at the beginning but it becomes a 3/4 later on so its a waltz but he doesnt really play it like a waltz
The pianoversion is not a waltz in the beginning but is in the middle. The original version is a waltz throughout the entire song though.
Marten Thijssen actually it’s 2/4 in the beginning but whatever :p
A lovely movie
I love this song and I’m playing it too
I am loving this video layout, just like the Cuphead video! ^^
I swear, I’ve heard this being played before in either a show/film, but I can’t quite put my finger on where I heard this before!
*either way, I’m getting major feels from this song* great job as always, Panda!
OH YES I KNOW NOW, I HEARD THIS SONG FROM AMELIE! It was my English Literature Teacher’s favourite film! She made us watch it as part of our Parisian/Paris travel writing essays!
Favourite part of the film is when the Gnome went around the world, it was adorable!
Yes, it's a pretty famous piece! It's from the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulin which is very well-known here in Europe. Glad you liked my version!
Ahahahha your fans love you alot
warms my heart :D
♥
I can play 0:00 to 1:54, but can only play smoothly 0:00 to 1:14. I love this song and I'm glad I kept practicing for months, I can't wait untill I learn the whole song, be able to play it for others and share how much I love this piece😁I should finish late May 2020.
Now I can play the whole song, but still working on smoothness
❤
Just a personal thought but I think that using synthia as a tutorial, discourages people since it looks confusing on the screen but it’s not really that hard, that’s why I prefer sheet music instead since synthia makes me want to give up quicker.
Ashaundre Bennett exactly!!!
Ashaundre Bennett i think the same 👌
for me it’s actually the opposite. I have struggles reading sheet music so I prefer synthesia to learn things because it’s easier to me to see and understand
Definitely sure it's easier for most people to "read" synthesia than it is to read sheet, and this more would be inclined to watch a video with a synthesia thumbnail rather than a stave
Mis respetos
i finished learning the whole song in a week :)
Do you sheet music for this? You play it so beautifully!! love it
I cant get my fingers to move that fast for the right hand... in time.. more practice!
It's a piece of cake! Like playing piano tiles... Haha
Do you mind if you do one with love like you? I know it’s been a while since the video on it came out but i’ve been struggling to play it for a while now. Like i can read the notes an stuff it’s just the part where i have to decipher whether it’s a flat or a sharp
I love your channel so much panda!! please notice me ^^
NOTICED
@@ThePandaTooth OMG HAHAH THANKS I LOVE YOU ASDFGHJKL

Could you make one of these for your ‘you’re welcome’ pls
I play it !
You should played this sooner
It’s really awesome
holy shit
this, make me wants to dance
Could you please do Comptine d’un autre été, l’après-midi form Amelie by Yann Tiresen
All the beautiful songs are by Yann Tiersen
I am a beginner pianist, it is barely a year that I train and I really would like to learn La Vasle d'Amélie which is a music I like it but it really looks hard 😕
Does anyone know this movie where a man learns viol under his master and ends up having a romance with one of his two daughters? I've been looking for it for a while.
Super ! Bravo c'est magnifique ! Mais j'ai remarqué lol😉 À 1min 51 il y a un ré qui a sauté ! Et ducoup il y a deux Mi!
1:14 breathtaking
Now I also want to play this one.
It's actually a lot of fun to play once you get the hang of the arpeggios!
Yes I think arpeggois are my thing.
Well but I'm not at home...
1:13
Harder than comptine d'un autre été or porz goret ? I play these pieces but I don't know if I have the level to play this
Yes, I would say it's harder than those pieces, the part following 1:46 needs some good coordination. But with some practice of the left hand arpeggios, it's doable! I'd say you should try it!
@@ThePandaTooth Ok I'll tryhard this then :) Thank you for your answer, soon I'll be a master of Yann Tiersen pieces, i gotta do it ! ^^
@@ThePandaTooth Oh and btw this type of video with Synthesia and your hands too is my favorite ;)
jesus cristo que pianista
You should make your own music ,I think
I have been playing this song everyday for a long time and I know it by heart but I still can't go as fast without making many mistakes.. how can I improve? 😕
TeGioz i think playing it slowly until you get the hang of it and then you can start to play faster
Muchas gracias y felicitaciones !!!
It’s my dream to play it:(
Please please do the lullabye from pan’s labryth!!!!
Vive la France ! :D
Siempre fuimos mejores amigos y nunca me atreví a decirle.
:(...
