I am Russian and Ukrainian on my paternal side, and I have a Domovoi in my house. In fact, I asked you for advice on communicating with him in the comments of a different video and you suggested using a pendulum. It worked and now he makes his presence known regularly, my cats even interact with him. I am very fond of my Domovoi, he's a pleasure to have around! 😊
Hi lovely witches. Here is a link to my free handout on Patreon.www.patreon.com/posts/sneak-peek-at-108374665?Link& And thank you @amandagrande6098 for requesting info on Domovois and sparking the idea for this video!
Thank you. I did find a very dry but super helpful reference book called. The Traditions of Household Spirits by Claude LeCouteux that was a collection orf oral folk history around the practices.
This is so interesting! My heritage is mostly Sicilian, so I’m going to do some research to see if there are house spirits unique to that region. It may be difficult because of the heavy Catholic influence but I’m sure I can find something hidden in folk tales and the folklore.
Thanks Jessica. I have run across general Italian names. There is more of a ghost like house spirit in Italy called La Bella Umbriana. And the Romans called them Lares or Manes and saw them more as minor deities. I'm not sure about the Sicilian region but hopefully this wil help.
I offer my House Elf (divination to discern what it prefers to be called) bread and milk. Its been around me since I was a small child. I'm hoping when I am gone it will follow my daughter so I've introduced her to it's existence.
Great video! I don’t think they’re considered house spirits but I would like to know more about pixies (piskies). Can they be in other countries outside of Great Britain and Ireland?
Thank you and grat question! Pixies and piskies are consider part of the spirits of the Tuatha de Danaan and they definitely are seen as causing mischief or sometimes helping around the home. I think we can have contact with them outside their original lands and they will often be in our homes. And each land or region has their own spirits that are unique.
@@witchways thank you so much! That hopefully will help further my research. I’m currently having an issue with some mischievous being at my mom’s house here in NY. I’ve had a charm stolen and then returned weeks later in a randomly strange spot and I just had my car keys mysteriously stolen a couple of weeks ago and they have not been returned yet. I’ve exhausted all mundane reasons and no luck. I had them and then literally after only walking 20 ft, they were gone. I’ve been continually searching and asking for them back but I still have yet to find them. It feels very pixie like and incredibly frustrating. Luckily I had another set of keys and I was able to replace my house keys. I’ve even added a bell to my new keychain because I read that some of these beings don’t like bells ringing. Fingers crossed they feel inclined at some point to return my original set. They also seem to only target me and it’s only at my mom’s house. 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks again for the info! Blessed be! ✨
Domowin(w=v) is not a household member, i.e. a member of some extended family, a resident, a regular, or a friend. Domowin is not a family member of the same blood. Domowin is not a Domow/vik - the guardian spirit of the house. A Domowin is a co-resident of a house who is the closest member of the family, even though he or she is not of the same blood. This is a person who is at the same time the guardian spirit of the house and the heart around which many common activities of the family, zadruga/clan and family are focused. Domowin means one who has the right to sit together at the table and under the "owin" - that is, at the home fireplace, in the home temple, during the most important family and religious celebrations. Domowin chooses the time and place in the space of the family home where he stays. There are no forbidden places for him. It is a gift from the Gods to the family and its sacred element.

All the negative attributes are always added post Christianization huh 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
True all spirits and other religions were certainly demonized or sometimes just fit into the Christian pantheon especially in Ireland.
