These are some really, really nice patches! I really appreciate your dedication, as SY-programming takes considerable time and effort, and an in-depth understanding of both FM and WM synthesis, not just intuitive "knob twiddling until it sounds cool" - thanks a lot, great job!!
There is another movie with DX7 patches re-created on SY77...I wonder if this one will be ok with you as well...😏
Wooow, these are nice patches. Good music and playing too! 😮
Sounds great! I am very impressed with your custom sounds. I just dug out my old SY-77, cleaned it up to make it shine, and am playing it next to me as we speak. 🎹
Thanks. I'm happy to hear that. I will soon publish another video with SY77...hope you will enjoy.
really awesome! SY77 is incredible to program, once you get deep into a patch it's like mental gymnastics trying to keep track of all the parameters, and a lot of fun. i've made a small bank myself using just AFM and working on some sort of demo now, so will try and upload soon.
Hi...great to hear that I'm not the only one loving it. When you complete your demos remember to share with me...
Yamaha SY77 was something really really advanced in 90's. Compering to DX7 it was equipped with effects and filter and had looping of the A-Envelope. Another wheel and PCM samples as AWM. That was and is until today...really great. I also love it. What I miss however is more possibilities of assigning controlers (lfo speed for instance) and more effects and wider range of delay time like in SY99. I would have made more sofisticated patches 😏
Well done! I really like all these Eighties and Nineties electronic pop song patches. Now I have transfer tye bank and write it on a disk. Thankfully I stored nearly 100 HD and DD floppy disks for all my synths and Ataris.
Hi...thanks. I'm presently working on SY77 / SY99 patches in new edition. I will publish soon my work-floppy disk with some interesting modulations. Coming this month I think :)
thx man much appreciated ! some of the patches have such a vangelis feel to it !
I love these synthesizers, and the SY/TG/RM series from Yamaha. I'm currently working on how to give more possibilities of complex or "modern" sounds on these models.

Amazing. U went into that territory that is possible with immediate sounds.
There is so much more with these looping envelopes.
Unfortunately, they are only available on the AFM side, and not even on their Filter side.
Bummer.
But that makes this beauty in single "DX7" mode so brutally competent to do "space".
Thanks a lot. This is the beauty of DX7 and SY77 / 99. I believe we can still use it even for today music...presently I'm working on JD800 and discovering new age for it. Those synths from 90s were so good...sometimes not even explored enough...I just purchased brand new synth....modern with a lot of fancy features....and I'm so disapointed with the factory presets....🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Я не клавішник, але на все життя запам'ятав як фантастично і пронизливо звучав SY99 у Чика Кориа на альбомі 1986 року. Класний синт.
You did a truly wonderful job programming these patches on the great SY77 and SY99. The Envelope Generators on both these synthesizers are something else and so much fun to play with. Subscribed to your channel and good to see many people applaud you in the comment section as well. 13:30 > that bass sounds great and your playing is excellent! Took me back to 2010 when I first heard the JMJ song and had no clue how music was made and what a synthesizer was! :D

Thank You...after such comments I'm more motivated to create something new. Will soon publish another video for SY77
_ Still today, a happy owner of a lovely SY77. Thank you
Hi Nicola - will be more. I think I can push it further :) First I need to complete my present project with Korg Triton Extreme. Stay safe.
@@synthoxicatedpafreak7189 it's nice to hear that you think you can push these synths further. It's super refreshing to hear someone use these synths for something besides ambient music and drones honestly. And also show off the AWM stuff alongside the AFM stuff... And the filters too, feels like most folks on UA-cam ignore the filters when making their own presets for them
@@autumnbrushtail I see a lot of power in those old SYNTHS and believe that they can beat some of these of today. Easily...:)
@@synthoxicatedpafreak7189 That may be, but people tend to not show off what a synth can do beyond ambient, modern or vintage. I want to do things with an SY99 if I can get one that I simply haven't heard on UA-cam. Give me a Korg Opsix and I would do much of the same, Sure I could get another synth that's geared towards the sounds I want to make, but I want to do what I want with synths that aren't known for those sounds, y'know what I mean?
@@autumnbrushtail If you want one I may be of assistance. Just ask :) brgds !
Excellent patches! Thanks for your effort. Dziękuję bardzo! I have SY99 and TG77 (besides many others).
Hi Daniel...thanks. And full respect due to your performance in Japan :)
Very Jan Hammer there around 4.00 ! Amazing patches, enjoying listening. :)
Thanks....After so many positive feedbacks I'm motivated to work even harder :) I will once in a while publish a video with new sounds for various instruments for you...I'm presenrly working with Jupiter-X but will keep publishing for SY77 as well. Maybe Wavestation or DX7 as well....we will see.
Muchas gracias compañero!
Muy bueno el popurri. Gracias por el banco con sonidos novedosos. Mi traduccion: Very good potpourri. Thanks for the bank with new sounds.

Y Albeton is simple. Se que Jean Michael Jarre i otros famosos musicos usan Ableton...asi que me compro uno. tambien 😏😏😏

Dude, the Yamaha MR LUCKY sound is coming from the Yamaha SY77
Thank you for sharing, I am restoring an SY 77 and I am impressed with how good the AFM it sounds!, What is the main difference between the 99 and the 77? Thank you !!
Good Day. The FM synthesis has no limits. It surprices me even today. I'm presently recreating patches from DX7 to SY77. Give them new life 😏...it is amazing how good they can sound today...
SY77 and SY99 has diffetent set up of Aftertouch and Effects. When I program patches on SY77 I never assign aftertouch because SY99 responds differently. Sensivity setup. I have not tried to adjust keyboards. The other main difference is the effects range and setup. For instance...you can set longer delay time on SY99. I suggest to watch my last Yamaha movie where I compare new sounds on both of them without adjusting anything.
downloaded ! thx!
thx, hope you will enjoy. will make more...for DX7 as well but need more time...always short of...:)
@@synthoxicatedpafreak7189 this patch called "arpeggio2", bank D sound 9 - how did you made this to pulse as arpeggio? what is the setting for this? just holding one key in the lower octaves makes the sound play like an arpeggio - how did you make this ?
@@marcelfrehse Hi, you can loop the envelope. You can use LFO as well but I think I looped the AMP EG. It is in the setting you need to find it as I do not remember exactly all the settings I made. I'm presently traveling and have no access to the instrument to send you picture. Try to find it in the Envelope settings - should be set point for the loop.
...and that is why I love SY77...not only because FM...it is so powerful
Sonda 🙂 thx
Sonda was one of my best TV program. That is why I wanted to have it first...but only a few will recognize it today :)
Recently acquired an SY77, and so far the programming part has been slightly overwhelming. But hearing these patches is truly inspirational and makes me want to not give up just yet. May I ask how you program these? Do you use a program on your computer or just do a lot of menu diving?
Hi, thanks for your comment. Really appreciated. As to the sounds...I do not use any computer software for creating my sounds. I'm rather old fashioned :) I love to play with a sound in "real". SY77 is very powerful instrument and has for instance looping of the envelopes which...is not seen that often . Also those FM (operators)...can make a big mess in your mind :).
Programming is not that difficult if you compare other makers for instance...as long as you master ENV for pitch / filter / apm and LFO ( FM x 6 ) you will find it very easy and the only limit you will see is going to be your imagination. What I suggest to start with is...choose a sound from preset and play with the operators just to see what you can do with your preset. I'm pretty sure you will find it funny :). Good Luck.
@@synthoxicatedpafreak7189 Hey thanks for the quick response! I will keep that in mind and try to mess around with the synth this weekend. I'm curious though, would you ever consider doing a "patch from scratch" video? Would be interesting to see how you go about programming it.
@@burningmetalfreaka Hi, good idea ! I will look into this :)
I second a patch from scratch :)
I don’t mean FM tutorial- I wanna see an sy77 pro like you just jump into it and talk through their workflow
If you were interested in trying a computer based editor, I would strongly suggest FM-Alive's SY-Manager, fantastic help with programming the SY
Você poderia me enviar samples .wav do EP Knocker (SY77)?
Si...si lo tengo. En 2 meses poque estoy fuera de mi pais 👍👍👍. Simplemente recuerdame.
Sounds very nice and a very hard work! I've tried to download it but the link seems to be broken, would you mind uploading it again so I can download it? thanks!
Hi. Thanks. I'm happy that you find it useful :). I can send it to you e-mail directly if you wish. I will check the issue.
Might be a stupid question, but how do I play these? They sound incredible!
@@CliffdeZoete Hi....there are no stupid questions but there are stupid people not asking due to shame. As to the case...some patches were programed in loops. SY77 gives you possibility to seperate 4 voices as you want + modulation. If you combine all these features you can play whatever you wish 😏😏😏
@@CliffdeZoete If you ask for download them into your SY77 or SY99 just look for my video - How do I upload sounds to SY77 -

Thanks! Which do you prefer? 77 or 99?
@@synthoxicatedpafreak7189But as an addition, the SY99 has the same rompler sounds as on the SY85. They are an order of magnitude better quality than in SY77. Correct me if I'm wrong
Different aftertouch?
Last I knew the aftertouch on both was identical...?
It is a bit different in the set up. if I transfer patches made on 77 to 99 it is overreacting with AT and EFF are messed. For the same patches on 99 I had to modify or remove AT completely. To be honest...I didn't investigate deeply why. I just set it up to the best performance and that it. Enjoy...
@@synthoxicatedpafreak7189 that's interesting, learn something new everyday. Now I gotta go through all the '99 patches I imported to my '77's, and play around with the aftertouch...
How do you turn the syx files to sound font files?
Hi. Thanks for your question. I would appriciate if you explain your problem in detail so that I can help you.
@@synthoxicatedpafreak7189 I mean, how do you get the syx files from Yamaha SY77/ SY99 to work after downloading them on our phones?
Do they sound the same?
You mean SY 77 and SY 99 ? YES, they are the same. SY 99 has better effects so may sound a bit richer but generally these two are the same synthesizers. If you mean sounds from video contra realty the answer is also positive. NO EFFECTS, NO COMPRESSORS. Just the SYNTH-DIGITAL MIXER-COMPUTER ROW TRACK.
Will these work on the sy85?
Hi, SY85 is as well great synthesizer but only AWM synthesis available (PCM). No FM feature like SY77. So definitely it will not work. I had SY85 some time age and I believe I have a library of patches to this instrument. I would shear with if you like :)
tnks very much, friend!!. I suscribe your channel. I hope you get 500 soon. I need suscriptions too (i,ve only 64 😢) But recently I upload my version of Oxygene (Jarre) and i received 3200 visits from 23 Dec 2023. (My record hehe), Regards from Spain

Sadly the SY's can't do more than one sound on the keyboard, so live they are unusable.
Hi....thanks for your valuable comment...but if you have 2 x SY77...they can 😏😏😏
My deep respect for people who share their sounds and work for free! THANK YOU. Oh and by the way, nice to see that you cover up your synths. That is how it should be!
I have exactly the same approach...thanks for your comment ! Enjoy the day...
