How to Remove Screen Time Passcode from iPhone! (No download, no setup as new, iOS 12/13/14)

- Apple really didn't think the Screen Time password function through, since it's so hard to reset the password! I think I have figured out the way to reset it without losing everything on your device and having to set it up as a new phone. I managed to do it on Girly's iPhone running iOS 13 with the steps I go through in the video.

Here's the steps:
Backup your phone with encryption to your computer using iTunes or Finder.
Reset your phone completely and erase it through the phone's settings.
Restore your phone using iTunes or Finder with the backup you created.
Setup your phone using no passwords, touch/face ID, location settings, etc.
Go to settings-screen time and turn off screen time.
Rejoice (hopefully)

Bro I stopped in the process of doing this for like 2 days because I was too nervous to restore to factory settings but I did it and IT WORKS! I didn't set any passwords on my phone after reset, I said no when itunes asked me to back up the settings (cuz i think that might mess u up and keep screen time if you do it that way), and just went through exactly as he said in the video. My phone has literally been locked from screen time for 4 months. I put it on there with parental settings so my mom couldn't change it (because im 17 and that is messed up) but i must've hit the wrong number when i was setting up the passcode. It worked. Thank you! I setup a screen time for my son and I end up setting up one for myself not realizing. So as the time goes by I changed the screen time password for my son and end up forgetting the old password and couldn’t turn off the screen time on my part. But this Definitely work. Everything is restore back to my iPhone and ready to use 👍🏽👍🏽

I have no clue if it worked how it was supposed to but I worked for me. I’ve been trying to reset my phone but the restrictions wouldn’t allow it but this worked. Thank youuuuu :)
This works as of 2020-03-29, make a backup of everything on itunes and icloud just incase, but this worked amazingly as so as iopened my phone no screentime!
Ok so quick tip if your Apple ID is blocked through settings all you have to do is go to iCloud.com and then type in your Apple ID and password then go to find my iPhone and click reset (Obviously back up your phone to iTunes first.) then click the little X on the devise that you want to remove (it is under a drop down) then it will remove it from your settings and you are done (follow the first few steps like back up and all that then) !Disclaimer you need a computer! You can use a school computer (if iCloud is unblocked) anyways that is what worked for me and I hope that made sense lol

Update: this still works as of 14th June 2024 up to iOS 18 dev beta. However, do keep in mind that if you are part of a family, you won’t be able to click on the option (it will give you a password prompt, then say failed even if the password is correct). However, any apple subscriptions you have still work.
With apple, you can't clear history and use private browsing without unrestricted access on Safari, however, you can on chrome. By the way, I have an ask to buy things set up by my parents for iTunes and the app store. Is there any way to get past that?
Worked for us, from a parent! My wife had set up screen time restrictions for our daughter and then totally forgotten the passcode!!!! This method worked first time for us no issues, even after I'd had put in 12 attempts at the passcode (had to wait 60mins each time by then).

SimonDevon did it work for you? I did the same with my daughter’s phone, and was able to turn off screen time, but the password came back, and even shows all our previous attempts. Wondering if immediately setting up a new passcode will prevent this.

I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!! I had a friend of mine set a screen time limit because i didnt want to be spending too long on my phone. She accidentily deleted the note on her phone that had the passcode so I've gone months with a 2 hour time limit. This worked like a charm for my IPhone 7 with IOS 14.0!!

Will my apps stay?
I know another way go to setting go to screentime press app limits press add limit and then restart your phone. Restart that process 3-4 times and it should show the option to change password then press that and press forgot password then type
In your email and password then change your screentime password then you can turn off screentime and enter your pasword

Another Method I'll tell you without doing password change.
Want to change Screen time passcode
Follow the steps !!
1. Take any other iphone or iPad or new devices or your friends
2.Reset it
3.Setup the device as new
4.sign in your Apple ID
5.go to screen time
6. Setup new screen time passcode
7.if you see the bottom “share across the devices” Tap that
8.turn off and turn on the device
9.done ! Your screen time passcode changed !!!!
Or Reset your device, setup and sign in like a new device ! Then your Screen time passcode will be rest!!!

Thanks so much for this video. My sibling's screen-time passcode hadn't been working properly on her iPhone 7 plus. It simply would say "failed attempt" no matter what I tried and I very well knew the passcode. This gets you around having to pay for expensive programs to fix this. I was getting frustrated since I had been trying everything else. It worked well and I was able to remove and then also to reset the screen-time passcode without losing any other data! Definitely beats any customer service ;) thanks again!

The name thing on the top under settings is grayed out because of the screentime passcode. So I cannot disable the find my. Is there any other way to disable findmy?
So I can be pretty skeptical of the screen time passcode reset strategies that I've seen with fake accounts in the comments saying "it works". I have IOS 12 and have been looking to reset it for myself for a while, and this right here is the solution.
