    • @magicbenny1879

@@fried_riceee That is definitely the biggest question mark overall. His health. I highly doubt right now that with this body, weight and strength that he would be able to play at least 65-70 games. The risk is quite high that he could be injured playing against a lot of very athletic, physical and intense players. Like Ja Morant who already posterized 7ft+ guys who are stronger than Victor. Zion who has the athleticism but especially a lot of power to shove Victor around at will. Or Giannis who is extremely strong when he plays intense. But also many other players. What you said about him banging too much inside the paint is right. If he is going to do a bit too much then the chances are high for someone at this height and ESPECIALLY weight to get injured. Mentioning Chet is a good example. Some people when they mention the case of Giannis forget something. Giannis grew consistently and was "only" 6ft 8.5 at the draft at 18(and a half 😄). Then during the next 1-1/2 years he grew up to around 6 ft 11 which is not extreme in the sense of a growing process. Victor was already 6 ft 10 at 14. And since he is 18 he might still grow 1 or 2 inches more maybe. So those comparing Giannis and Victor are misjudging it a bit. Giannis is very tall but his process was different and he could probably adapt better to his body and the growth process. And not every skinny player is able to put on muscle. And on top of all, you mentioned right. This fragility is a problem. At 7ft 3(maybe 7ft 4 or 7ft 5 if he would still grow a bit) having only 209 lbs is extremely low.

I'm sorry Zach but that fact, the fact that he likes to do big guy stuff is what's dangerous to him. He's not strong yet, he is used to not playing a lot of games every year. He'll be switching from playing 1 or two games a week to 3-5 games a week with stronger people than him and they aren't gonna take it. He'll get fouled, he'll be beaten to the ground, he'll be punished for lack of core strength and remember height isn't everything because if you try to post someone smaller than you his balance is more stable so he'll be pushed out. All those beatings, the impacts, the wear and tear, the bruises... That's what's dangerous because that size with that body and strength is going to receive more than he gives.
Look at Porzingis. My favorite play from his rookie year is a dream shake. He's not done that ever since. Why? Because people went at his body, at his physical weakness. And he payed the prize. Now he mostly takes jumpshots. This kid will probably be better than Porzingis at that. But he won't be better than many others unless he puts a lot of strength (not weight because he's too tall) because his physique will be punished in the inside. Either he changes his body to bring strength, or he changes his game to reduce his paint presence, or both.
Just think of this. Do you see Embiid letting him post him like that? He's getting a strong foul. Do you see it with Giannis? He's fouled. Do you see it with Ayton, with Robert Williams, with Valanciunas? Yeah, his first year he's going to score on all of them. But the long term is what worries me. This type of body doesn't usually show punishment the first year except from the switch that is playing the 82 games when you've never played that much. But long term, he'll be punished

The bottom 3 teams get the same odds you bozo and then it’s only 14% on top of that. And even when tanking, or looking like a bad team in the off season, when there are multiple teams that are bad and even more doing tanking moves, there is absolutely no certainty of being in that bottom 3. It could be one game played that ends up separating team 3 and 4, a loss another team tanked harder for in November!and now you’re out of the bottom 3. And even then it’s about a 3% decrease in odds there. You’re in for a major disappointment t if you think any team just has this guy locked in as their draft pick

Picturing Cade, Ivey, Bey, Duren, and Victor would make Det a crazy fun young team. But let's be real the NBA draft is hella rigged (CLE wins lottery for hometown Player - Suns win lottery when the projected #1 is playing his college ball at Arizona etc etc) so he probably ends up in a franchise who needs this type of must watch player. Like Utah, Orlando, Sacramento, Indiana, I'd add Houston and Charlotte because they're not gonna be good but Jalen Green and LaMelo already have people tuning in.

Sure he has skills that are unusual for someone at that height. And he moves well too. However, with no offense, we have to see that the G-League Ignite team is a team of very few B-List and many C-List players. A few even D-List. Scoot Henderson is a different one. But most others fit in the category of B-List, C-List and D-List. Victor plays against better players in France. That is also why he didn't have such stats in the first few games in the French League even though having much playing time. So, the question is how is he going to play against players who are VERY athletic and physical plus very smart. Like Ja Morant who already posterized 7ft+. Zion who will probably play very intense with his strength and athleticism. Or Giannis and some others. There sure is a big difference between the level of the G-League Ignite and top NBA players. So, we will see how it will develop.

Regarding his skills. He could already shoot and dribble the way he does now. And when he already had some injuries while playing against very good European teams then it's not the best sign. That is probably the biggest question mark. If he can really keep up with more intense athletic and physical players without being injured all the time. As well as playing at least 65-70 games in a regular season or a full season which is HIGHLY questionable right now.
I don't know to which 30+ games you are referring to this season. Those G-League Ignite games don't count. Since it was also seen that the G-League Ignite players didn't really play any serious defense. Those were friendly games. In the French League he didn't have one game close to 30 points. Sure the further season will show but the competition in France is much higher in total(not all of course that's why I say in total), and in the Euroleague anyway, than the G-Leageu Ignite team. And between a G-League Ignite team and a GOOD(not great) NBA team is a BIG difference. And the level of players in the NBA(especially better players and top players) is far higher than in the G-League Ignite team. It's not meant with disrespect towards the G-League Ignite players. There are decent players too. But from what I have seen they aren't at good NBA level. Some not even decent NBA level. At least at the moment. Improvements are always possible and can happen. It depends on many factors. The one who has shown a lot of skills(but still some areas to improve in) was Scoot Henderson. That's why I said overall, we will see how everything develops.
