[TAS] Tron Arcade (20 rounds)

- Tool-assisted speed-run (TAS) of 20 rounds of Tron (Arcade).
Rounds 1 to 14 are a decent speed-run.
But the Light Cycles could be optimized as seen on round 13 (9:51) 18 (13:41) 19 (14:10) 20 (14:31).
Notes:
-On round 15 16 17, I lose time because I have fun with the Light Cycles.
-On the last round I enter the flashing circle at the last possible moment (15:24), like I did in the arcades for a higher score (I don't remember how near 0 I got at the time).
-On two occasion I use the warp to kill the last tank (11:52 and 13:25). The destination of the warp is constant (when tasing), but the rng is influenced by the angle of the canon. So, by trial and error, I could warp nearly where I wanted by rotating the canon before warping.
-Its amusing to see that the MCP cone is super slow on round 17 (13:05).
-The explosions of the colour blocks in the MCP Cone are deadly, so you have to wait for them to disappears. But the explosions of the Bugs are harmless.

TRON is no match for his much improved younger brother, TAS.
This is insane. I’ve never made it all the way through round 3.
Was just at the Pinball museum in Las Vegas and thought the same thing. Third level tanks do it to me all the time, but looks simple here. I also like how some of the spider rounds is simply outrunning them without even firing. LOL
I always enjoyed the names of different programming languages that defined each level.
An arcade classic based on one of my favorite Disney movies.
I guess no one its going to talk about what Prog61 did while inserting credits at the beginning with Rhythm.

Back circa 1984 I could score a million on Tron. Here's some stupid trivia, you *CAN* shoot all the spiders (Grid bugs). Set the difficulty to "2", and they multiply slowly enough on either the 1st or 2nd level that you can shoot them all. It just sucks you into the center, and beams you up regardless of where you are on the screen. (Would be a cool thing to TAS). HINT HINT. :-)

I watch this and just giggle seeing TRON get pwned because it was such an intimidating game when it came out.
Try shooting all the MCP cone blocks for an extra bonus.

@@ScottCanoni go straight up when the recognizer comes right at you - make a right - move / fire your way into the upper right corner - they can never kill you because they cannot go backwards and they cannot fire
Yes, a pause button on an arcade machine. I used to take bathroom breaks using that trick.

@@Prog61 Huh. I never knew that. I never was any good at the game so I'd never see that. The things we find out years later.
@@Prog61 and yes it has cannon in the movie as it could only answer yes or no questions, hence it's Bit property of only being 1 or 0 (binary)
What happened after 20 rounds? I feel robbed, did the game glitch?
No, the game continues with the same level. If you search UA-cam there is a video of a nearly 2 hour game.
