The bearings make the vac. DeWalt has designed obsolescence with their motor bearing design. They also seal it up really annoying so you cannot replace the bearing or even lubricate them for long term maintence. Their other tools might be nice but they burned a bridge with me when a near 200.00 dollar vac lasted me less than a year. Was using it to clean up some wet carpet with the filter removed and the bearings started whining and then motor overheated and now the motor brushes smell like they will catch on fire. Minimal dust on the dust guards as well. Very irritated. It's one thing to make a cheap product overpriced. It's another to do that plus lock people out from maintence and replacement. Not to mention the copper wire wrapping on the motor looked like it was done by a half blind elderly union worker. The only positive was that all the screws were the same during disassembly.
not that it matters, but i just bought mine today and it was made in malaysia, i wonder if they moved production? or just have multiple factories
