- Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar talks about how artists should react to their sucess.
"Once you have acceptance of the audience you should have lesser exposure, you know when people have you for breakfast and lunch and then they have you for dinner. I don't remember, however, I read this somewhere that once an artist establishes then he/she should not expose themselves much. There was a time when a brilliant actor Moti Lal ji, he was so popular that there were four shows of his in one city. Many artists do this without realising that they run a hazard if they overexpose themselves..."

He is so right. Be a different person every time you appear and say something different every time you talk. In doing so himself he has become an institution of knowledge. He can speak on any topic. He thinks before he speaks unlike many who speak and then think. He masters any language he uses. He chooses the right word. The way he pauses is in itself a part of his speech. I come short to realise the true greatness of this legend. India is blessed.
Now I understood that Shahrukh Khan tries to copy Dilip Kumar but the only difference is that Dilip Kumar is more humble, more creative and 100 times less money minded than Shahrukh.

I saw him in first film that I watched in my life. He was singing suhana safar aur ye mausam hasin..and instantly I felt as if my father is there on the screen. As on date he is at my father's place. Throughout my life I watched all his films and I am in love with him as on today. He is in place of my father and my God on earth. That that I deeply respect him is yet another thing. I get pain to see him on TV screen. I highly respect and adore Saira ji to see her caring so much for him. He has a Grace no other actor had and has. He is the most handsome person to me.

Dilip Sahab carried himself very well. Having said that, he also had that boy inside of him that needed to do mischief once in a while...came out in films like Ram aur Shyam, Leader etc......

My sincere, humble request to the new generation, since they are the torch bearers of this industry it is their responsibility to take this industry to a different level. Unfortunately, I see that the quality of movies, stories, lyrics, compositions, direction, singing, acting almost everything has stooped down so low. This should have never happened. I came across some movies and was shocked to hear cheap, vulgar, derogatory terms, third grade language used. Just to attract audience. Why ???? They should strongly focus on Art and Art must be respected. Must be honored, must be elevated- not degraded. It is so pathetic that I haven’t heard a single song ( composed & sung) for more than a decade that I can say that this particular song is going to be an immortal number and it will last for ever !

I have been a fan of Dikip Kumar and none else in Bollywood. No other actors could match his dignity, eloquence, wisdom and integeity. He is way beyond anybody's reach. Other super stars look a little cheaper, greedy and less dedicated to their professions.
Dilip Kumar's command over languages like English and Urdu was incredible. His English language was comparatively modern for that time.

Mohd Rafi is bigger. There are lots of actors as almost great as Dilip Kumar, e.g Sanjeev Kumar. But nobody comes close to Mohd Rafi. His singing was at another level. Most often these actors whether it's Dilip Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Shammi Kapoor or any other actor from that era, achieved their popularity because of the songs they had given their lip-sync to. Imagine that era without Rafi, these actors wouldn't not have great voice! They would not have great references for depicting romance in their songs/romatic scenes. Rafi's songs and the romance he was able to emote, through his songs and voice modulation, definitely helped ALL of these actors. Imagine KL Sehgal singing a romantic song and Dilip Kumar is giving his lip-sync.

Dilip Saab was one of the finest actors and is also remembered as such. Marlon Brando was also an acting genius and influenced later generations of actors just as Dilip Kumar did. rohit singh You are confusing character actors and versatile actors , its not the same. Amrish Puri and Shakti Kapoor were known as villains primarily. Even Paresh Rawal is a character actor but they are not lead actors.
@@jponline79I think no one can do roles such as Nandu, crime master gogo in such manner as shakti did..it proves that he is versatile ...and Amrish Puri did so many character oriented roles in early parallel cinemas like in Tamas, Ghatak and so on..good actor lies within the thin line between versatility and characterism..
And who told you Paresh Rawal can't depict lead roles..what about OMG, sardar patel..lead actor mostly sucks such as Amitabh,srk,salmaan.. sometimes they also sucks in lead roles.
