Yeah, that kinda forces you to make some tough decisions about your items, and sometimes, you may have to ditch some special secret items, that you worked hard for (like that int mantle, or that agility slippers in chapter 4). It's interesting how "The Ruins of Dalaran" map resembles a map from "Under the Burning Sky". Also whanever you have mission in Andorlhal you also can see some similarities from each of three maps, two from W3 RoC: "The Cult of the Damned" and "Digging up the Dead", and one from TFT: "The Dark Lady" mission.
i remembered the Slippers of Agility being called Tsinelas ni Spiderman (Slippers of Spiderman) long ago by people who were playing that DOTA which was a warcraft 3 mod
In Broken Isles mission above the red Naga base there are two tree stumps called Boughs of Azshara. Upon aproaching them Maiev will have small comments about it, there is not much more about this easier egg, the rest is on wiki.
I will never forget that comment, that thing was retconned now in World of Warcraft, in a way. So many of my favorite moments I see people talk about in comments in the context of 'it got retconned in WoW'.
Fun fact about the last map, you can give Illidan the Gul'dan's Shadow Orb by going south with Furion and living it on a cliff that Illidan can reach from below. Don't remember if the items persist between campaigns.
Just a note about Shards of the Alliance: the first mercenary camp you encounter on the right path after the crossroads allows to recruit a sasquatch with Force of Nature. Whilst he doesn't have enough mana and mana recovery to allow to really *spam* it, it's still a good way to get a headstart on clearing trees.
in Shards of the Alliance: There is a ring of regeneration near the town. Between 1st and 2nd mercenary camp.A little north from the town is path of chooped trees.
I have to be honest: As much as I hate escort missions due to how much pressure they put on you and how much the AI can screw you up royally, I think they are fine in RTS games. The fact that you have a great view of the action, an entire army to protect it (An army that has perfect auto aim as well), and the fact that the thing you are escorting usually have a weapon or are controlled by you makes them pretty fun.
I wonder, was the Naga ever considered to be a playable race? I mean they've workers, buildings and whatever... And thanks for the link to the interview, a very interesting read
As far as I know, and judging by the way their units are organized on the World Editor, yes. But their whole "water-based" abilities like Submerge and building their structures in shallow water wouldn't have made them very useful on a typical melee map. Demons and Goblins were also considered as races for Reign of Chaos.
There were early plans for TFT to add in water units for each race, and for the Naga to be a new full race. However early tests with water units reminded us of how they either dominated or were completely unused in War II based on the map, so we instead focused on new general units and the Neutral heroes. Naga became the big bad under Illidan as a result.
Naga in TFT is a patchwork of existing features from other races. The naga warrior with a trident, for example, has the exact same stats of the undead's abomination, and the ability of the orc wolf rider's (throwing out a web to trap an enemy ground unit).
I love this campaign compared to the Night Elf campaign on Reign of Chaos. It truly shows the step up from each game, the sercets are overwhelming abundant, and the maps mostly have more fun scenarios.
I love pandas in warcraft and my favorite unit is the Pandrean Brewmaster. It's nice to see my favorite animal to go from a easter egg to a literael race
On the fun escort mission, there is an elder Sasquatch mercenary that has the ability force of nature, the mercenary camp that has him is at the far end of the mission yer gonna hafta backtrack a bit for the earlier easter eggs in that map
At last level it is possible to give units from Malfurion to Illidan if both of them get to north of the map. This means you can give The Guldan's Orb to Illidan - or other useful items. Also the entire underground map can be cheated using sight wards, as they have created bunch of sight blockers everywhere, but not 'collision blockers' and you are able to put the wards behind the blockers. Both of them go credited to Frozen Throne Speedrun as both of them were used to great effect.
I did grank the rat going through the naga base just because you said it. Though I only had blink on lvl 2 so I had to wait till my runner group was halfway through their course (but still far from reaching grank) and there's a spot where you can blink to the end of their base without being noticed. From there its just a small hyppogryph explore and them blink again through the trees
From what I recall from map making, you cannot make the terrain too steep. The units will still be able to walk on it. So they must have added invisible walls.
there is a little secret in the shards of the alliance: right above the first stop of kael's caravan there's a small path leading to some crates, after opening them you'll find a ring of regeneration; it isn't much tho, compared to other sweet items you find in that level but still :3 anyway, really awesome job on doing these videos and interviews bro, i enjoy watching them
Fun fact! In the 5 chapter i as a kid used the ,,clear the trees way" to get to Maiev thinking that I don't have enough forces to destroy the naga base
However there is a secret where you can find gauntlet of strength on left side of the map(in the second guldan rune) however if you pick it up... Nothing will happen you can see by using "iseedeadpeople" cheat code
I don't know if you know this by now, but once mountain giants picked up their war club from trees, they can attack trees as long as they're holding their clubs. You don't have to wait until the ability to cool down.
I actually like the runes. Cuz on the first night elf mission, the alternative would have been, "Waiting a total of 8 additional minutes for your mana to regenerate..." That would KILL the games pace and make this mission a slog.
@@Abelhawk That's not a bad idea. Better mana regen would be nice. Ive played these games countless times abd missed so many items lmao the hydralisk 1 was awesome cant wait to apply my new knowledge to wc3 reforged haha
In chapter 6, you can hire Elder Sasquatches from the southeastern-most mercenary camp, next to the big undead base. They can cast Force of Nature to help clear the trees.
2 things, first I remember there was unused set of soundfiles in mission two about orc traders that haven't died, what was that about? Also where the hell is that music at 13:22 from? It is very familliar, but I can not place it.
I can't believe I missed these. >< There's also a line from a goblin that's used as well. I wish I could just add these segments to the video. I guess I'll start compiling a minisode about a few more I missed, ha ha. Thanks for pointing those out! Also, the music is from the Darkmoon Faire.
In chapter 8 "Brothers Stormrage" did you know that you can give Illidan items from Malfurion?(including the Shadow orb+10) that he can use in the Blood Elf campaign when u play with him again.
You forgot to mention the Naga race having their own voice lines for building units, being in battle, and so on that can only be heard in one mission of the entire TFT campaign which is The Brothers Stormrage. I always found that to be a shame...
The story of the orb of fire: It was firstly owned by a glorious paladin/prince,but then he changed side. After a big argument the prince (now death knight) leaves it in a box,and throws it in a cliff, but luckily it landed safely. After a couple of months,an elven warden finds it and brings it back to action! The orb is now a hero for all the orbs around the world, taking a break as hestorical object in a museum.
You forgot a huge easter egg in the last mission. With furion if you sneak behind the downside undead base, cutting trees and stay close enough the wall, you can drop shadow orb to illidan and use it in the next mission.
In the last level....you could transfer the shardow orb to illidan....by dropping it near the cliff of orange undead base and making illidan pick it...it will be transferred to the next campaign
U missed two of them. The first one is in chapter five. In illidan base is an waterfall where u can use blink to teleport over where i think u will find some tome of intelligence. And the second one is in chapter six. The place where u found orb of fire u can blink once more on the place beneath it and find a lot of creates that give u nice item if i remember correctly but there is no need to blink cause there is a secret passage that u can use in one of the resting places(town)
Thank you sir! You're right. I thought you could climb up the waterfall stairs, but apparently you can't. And I completely missed that one about the crates that give you a Ring of Regeneration. I'll have to point that out in a future video.
theres actually a trick on the final mission, furion needed to destroy the undead base first to make him safer. so the items you get from maiev are being dropped in the final mission. on the right side of the slope, you can exchange item with illidan in there, so shadow orb, slow/orb of fire and even robe of magi / boots of elvenkind to help your hero gaining better power in the upcoming blood elf campaign its very handy :D
OMG I didn't know you can kill Grank the Rat with clicking! I fukin had the lure Grank towards the lowest section of the land with the flower patches and had my Glaive Balista shoot the ground until i got lucky!!
In Shards of the Alliance you can also hire a Sasquatch to cast Force of Nature (mini furion). It can blow a lot of trees that MG can't reach (or just speed up their work) and reveals A LOT of blinkable grounds that contains an amazing LOT of absolutely NOTHING. So have fun wasting 2 hours thinking you can find some kind of super secret.
Wizards of the Coast known for Dungeons and Dragons, have a few creatures licensed under their name, creatures that are their intellectual property. The owlbear is one of them, so Warcraft had to change the name of theirs to wildkin. Other creatures that belong to WoC are the Illithid and Beholder.
It's actually a white stag, but I'm really not sure. He also has different attire-originally he wore leaves, now he wears some kind of hides. I'm guessing it was just to make him look more authoritative as Shan'do or something?
His original name was Furion, however the White Stag is the legendary White Stag of the Forest, Malorne, which you learn about in WoW. Hence the namechange to Malfurion.
I wondered that myself and was really hoping when I looked through the map file that it would be some crazy secret imported model, but after looking, it's just a Doom Guard colored black. :\
Abelhawk Thank you for the fast response and this Great Series, remembered me of the old days back in 2005 when i was ten and discovered the iseedeadpeople for the very First Time. I spent hours searching for Secrets in Every map. You make me feel so nostalgic!
Anyone care to explain how copyright works? What happen if we use different language for Ballista? Like Baliste(french) or Barisuto(japan). Or what about Ballista used for different object? Like name for real historic roman general 'Ballista"? Can they still sue you for copyright?
Personally, I think what actually happened was that there were copyright issues over steam tanks, gyrocopters, and owlbears, and they decided they might as well change all the siege units while they were at it. I think it'd be impossible for someone to actually get away with suing over ownership of the term "ballista."
In Shards of the Alliance: you can use the ability force of nature from the sasquatch. To get through the trees instead of using giants ability. Found at 3rd mercenary camp.
I dont realize this until now that in shards of the alliance you dont hve to wait the cooldown of mountain giants ability, you can actually attack(when he holding the tree) the tree this is simiiliar to infernal
A little bit of trivia here that doesn't have to do with WC3 Easter Eggs: Illidan's last pissed quote is "Ba-weep-grah-na-weep-nini-bon, it's the universal greeting" , which is a reference to Transformers: The Movie.
On mission 6 Shards of the Alliance you can get sasquatch from the south mercenary camp and use him to get through the trees much faster with his Force of nature.

i love the editing in this series
Thanks! I had a ton of fun with it and I'm glad most people enjoy the style.
Blink ability made me believe that this campaign is full of secrets all over.
Oh, cool! Thanks! You should do a LP or walkthrough pointing out the "behind the scenes" details.
Soooo many details to be unearthed....
There are lots of videos I'd like to make, but I can never find the time.
Naga in TFT is a patchwork of existing features from other races. The naga warrior with a trident, for example, has the exact same stats of the undead's abomination, and the ability of the orc wolf rider's (throwing out a web to trap an enemy ground unit).
5:28 The rune is there because you can blink to low cliff without using the owl, and you can blink to the high walls from there after =)
I love this campaign compared to the Night Elf campaign on Reign of Chaos. It truly shows the step up from each game, the sercets are overwhelming abundant, and the maps mostly have more fun scenarios.
8:53 well I don't know what I was expecting the bear would say lmao
2:55 :D Lol That´s a "death sound" from Abe´s Oddysee!
I'm so glad someone noticed!
Ill always look out for you *Tyrandesaurus*
Tyrande: what!!! 🦖 *Roars*
"One shot, one kill"
-Archer's last words-
I love pandas in warcraft and my favorite unit is the Pandrean Brewmaster. It's nice to see my favorite animal to go from a easter egg to a literael race
Thanks for the video, didn't mind the length :)
Achievement Unlocked: Abelhawk’s Respect!
Abelhawk *--* I'm replaying the campaigns to see the easter eggs I missed before, great series you have here!
Another video, sweet! :3
Nice edits by the way.
I will never uninstall Warcraft 3 , NEVER
From what I recall from map making, you cannot make the terrain too steep. The units will still be able to walk on it. So they must have added invisible walls.
Exactly! Pathing blockers. A genius idea.
there is a little secret in the shards of the alliance: right above the first stop of kael's caravan there's a small path leading to some crates, after opening them you'll find a ring of regeneration; it isn't much tho, compared to other sweet items you find in that level but still :3
anyway, really awesome job on doing these videos and interviews bro, i enjoy watching them
8:10. Is glyph permanent? Does it only effect currently constructed buildings or all future buildings as well?
I'm pretty sure it's a permanent passive bonus for the rest of the scenario, because the game treats it like you researched an upgrade.
Does it stack with nature's blessing? 12 armor, 8 for protectors?
I don't know if you know this by now, but once mountain giants picked up their war club from trees, they can attack trees as long as they're holding their clubs. You don't have to wait until the ability to cool down.
balancing the scales and the ruins of dalaran gives me ptsd on insane mode ; - ;
Missed a decret on chapter 6 theres a crate in the forest on the bottom of the map above the houses
The ending scene is so romantic haha
I actually like the runes. Cuz on the first night elf mission, the alternative would have been, "Waiting a total of 8 additional minutes for your mana to regenerate..." That would KILL the games pace and make this mission a slog.
I say make the mana regenerate faster, then. I'm all for not sitting around, but giving away all the secret places is cheap.
@@Abelhawk That's not a bad idea.
Better mana regen would be nice. Takes ten thousand years to regen mana, especially at lower levels.
-
*Mainev level 1:* (Casts fan of knives)
*Maievs mana:* Whoaw there buddy, I'm gonna need a bed, a Gatorade, a 1 hour break, and a foot massage before I'm up for another spell. Foooff...
In the ruins of dalaran mission, if you blink up the roof south of the kobold prison to the right you can find a tome of strength +2. One you missed :)
Good point! I hadn't thought of that.
if you look more on broken isles youll see a bunch of skeletons fighting each other
IT is a side quest.
Absolutely love long videos, friend
15:45 BEST PART IN MY OPINION
10:43 This is left like that in Reforged, too.
4:20 ah this is funny D:
In the german version those lines were used .
my dumb ass killed that rat by using glaive thrower, u know the attack a certain area repeatedly 😭😭😭
In chapter four, you can simply find that 100% evasion rat by using your flying unit. 😎
10:07 u seriously drop a pendant of mana for a talisman of evasion instead of ditching the shitty ring of protection +1? Are you mad?
You forgot a huge easter egg in the last mission. With furion if you sneak behind the downside undead base, cutting trees and stay close enough the wall, you can drop shadow orb to illidan and use it in the next mission.
In the last level....you could transfer the shardow orb to illidan....by dropping it near the cliff of orange undead base and making illidan pick it...it will be transferred to the next campaign
Ha, that oddworld-sound when
Killing the furbolg!
Uh, yeah, waiting for mana to regenerate is just kinda tedious.
Abelhawk :)
If you're fast enough, you can kill the Panda Brewmaster
theres actually a trick on the final mission, furion needed to destroy the undead base first to make him safer. so the items you get from maiev are being dropped in the final mission. on the right side of the slope, you can exchange item with illidan in there, so shadow orb, slow/orb of fire and even robe of magi / boots of elvenkind to help your hero gaining better power in the upcoming blood elf campaign its very handy :D
OMG
I didn't know you can kill Grank the Rat with clicking!
Can you talk about why they added a goat to Furion? I felt like it was unnecessary.
It's actually a white stag, but I'm really not sure. He also has different attire-originally he wore leaves, now he wears some kind of hides. I'm guessing it was just to make him look more authoritative as Shan'do or something?
can you tell me what is the name of son you use from start to 1.45 I love that song but I don't know their song name
That also goes with his "name change", since the old model is always referred to as "Furion", but the new one is "Malfurion".
His original name was Furion, however the White Stag is the legendary White Stag of the Forest, Malorne, which you learn about in WoW. Hence the namechange to Malfurion.
Spencer Kelly haha that’s kinda weird when you realise that Malorne is kind of Cenarius’ dad and Cenarius taught Furion his druid powers.
2:42-3:00,
Poor Furblog. He didn't deserve that.
Is Here anybody who Can Tell me which model they used for sargeras In the Scene with guldan?
I wondered that myself and was really hoping when I looked through the map file that it would be some crazy secret imported model, but after looking, it's just a Doom Guard colored black. :\
Abelhawk Thank you for the fast response and this Great Series, remembered me of the old days back in 2005 when i was ten and discovered the iseedeadpeople for the very First Time. I spent hours searching for Secrets in Every map. You make me feel so nostalgic!
I thought it's a Pit Lord.. just as how they elaborate Burning Legions Demons
maaaan, you are awesome!!!
in the first chapter there is a plus 1 item behind a throne i found this by accident
I call that spider-man socks too xD
I completely missed the 3 hidden tomes in the library in my play. Feelsbad
the golem moment was really fun
I wonder if there's a way to use that infernal stone in the last mission to destroy trees and find another secret. Gotta try this.
I dont realize this until now that in shards of the alliance you dont hve to wait the cooldown of mountain giants ability, you can actually attack(when he holding the tree) the tree this is simiiliar to infernal
you can also give amlfurion items to illidan in the last map
That romeo and juliet at the end oh my! subbed
that spider man socks :DDDD
A little bit of trivia here that doesn't have to do with WC3 Easter Eggs: Illidan's last pissed quote is "Ba-weep-grah-na-weep-nini-bon, it's the universal greeting" , which is a reference to Transformers: The Movie.
I enjoy your video a lot :) Big love
You gonna do one for Rexxar campaign or is that not really applicable?
Furbolg hermit scene wouldve been funnier if you had Maeiv say something bout vengeance before killing them.
On mission 6 Shards of the Alliance you can get sasquatch from the south mercenary camp and use him to get through the trees much faster with his Force of nature.
I was not prepared for the ending
why nobody ever mentions the ability to pass on the shadow orb from Malfurion to Illidan via water walking, he keeps it for the blood elves campaign
