@SleepyWolf Well yes of course, but what I mean is, some viewers like myself, on our first time watching this, foolishly thought S3 would be the end of the big grand reveals. But it wasn't as Kenny and Montana will soon see.
@@dryblackfire7587 my guy, that is not true. It was stated in the official character encyclopedia that he first created the Colossal Titan and made Bertholdt's character out of it. The Warriors were created even before. What do you mean he lies? Just admit that he's that good lol
The hermit crab shell / walls and freedom comparison is wild. Unsure if that’s what they’re going for but that’s an amazing idea and she’s on the right track
Yeah, I always thinking about that shell for so long and can’t figure it out what is mean. And then Montana said “that’s a hermit crab” that makes a lot of sense.
"No one is more hated than he, who speaks the truth" - Isayama made Flochs character with the idea in mind that he will be someone who speaks the uncomfortable truth
I like him. He is literally the most realistic character in Attack On Titan Some manga readers that hated Floch ended up liking him in the end after what he said became true in the end
I agree, I'm actually surprised so many ppl is mad at this dialogue. I agree that Floch shouldn't have further argued about the whole Erwin vs Armin decision, but a part of what he said was true. He as a surviving member had a right to speak his mind, and he was right that ppl should be able to choose how they want to live out their life.
@@yuyu246 Too be honest. There's a time and a place, and Floch's words were pretty harsh. If you're attached to our main cast, someone basically roasting (truth bombing) all of them for their decision will almost certainly get some ire. However, I can understand Floch's bitterness. He was the only person on that rooftop that was approaching the situation rationally and without a personal emotional attachment to either Erwin or Armin, and yet, he was alone in his conviction and Levi decided to act on emotion (yes, his decision was based on emotion) and let Erwin rest. I can imagine Floch being incredibly frustrated about how things turned out.
@@hawkxlr SPOILERS: With all this in mind, am I the only one surprised at how Floch later became as huge an ally of the Yeagerists as he did? It'd seem more logical to me at least for him to vehemently oppose Eren due to bitterness from Eren reviving his friend over Erwin.
Erwin was also tapped out, having had, at Levi's command, given up the dream that was driving him to charge the Beast Titan. He would barely have even been the same person.
@@dynamicworlds1 There's also the argument of morality; that Erwin said directly to Levi that he cared so much about finding out the truth that he, at least momentarily, was willing to sacrifice humanity's survival in favor of personally learning the truth, meanwhile Armin nearly did give up on his dream without being prompted by someone else in order to assure victory for his comrades. But whether or not Erwin still would have held onto that more selfish motive after the whole charging the Beast Titan part, and especially after actually getting ahold of the truth, is rather up in the air, and at this point we don't really have any way of knowing for certain how he would have acted if he had survived.
@@jacintacapelety9600 yeah, at the very least, Erwin's future motivations, drive, and therefor actions would have been in far more doubt, whereas Armin's would remain far more predictable and consistent to his past actions. Armin was by far the safer call which, when you're handing out that much power, you really want to be double sure of the motivations of who you're entrusting it to. Call that morality or pragmatism, the result is the same. Being based on emotional thinking and being irrational aren't always diametrically opposed. Emotional and social intelligence are actual things. I think Levi made the best call with the information he had available at the time, even if that was focused more on the moral angle of who to trust the power to for the same of humanity, or being focused on Erwin's mental state and how he was spent and the only thing to drive him left would have been his guilt, or something else. For as cold and calculating as he often acts, Levi has _never_ forgotten that the soldiers around him are actual _people_ and not just pieces on a board with a collection of stats that could measure how well they can perform orders or overestimated his ability to see the big picture. "I gave Armin the injection because I realized I'd just emotionally murdered Erwin to try and kill the Beast Titan, which I let get away." isn't exactly a great motivational declaration, though. He understands that and that you simply make judgement calls based on incomplete information as best you can and without being sure which is the best sometimes. Any assessment with absolute certainty which would have turned out better without being able to see both potential timelines is naive. That's what so many miss. You can't be sure in a situation like that, so you consider it from multiple angles and then just make a call and accept the good and bad that comes of it.
Ok but that’s something that Erwin wanted. Whether floch liked it or not, the ACTUAL truth is that Erwin did want to rest, objectively floch also got emotional especially at the funeral.
Me while watching Eren scream and whine about making his enemies suffer in previous seasons: *Eren, calm down, stop making empty threats.* Me now: *Well I guess those weren't empty threats. My bad.*
Technically we see the main cast happy all the way in Marley when they’re living among them, both being shown later on and is timeline wise ~a year after the episode
"Eren Optimism Counter : FINAL" That...that hurt so much, and yet it's so true. And that hermit crab shell symbolism...I'd never even considered anything close to this. It's amazing watching you guys.
Fun fact the crawling titan (not the cart) it's confirmed to be the leader of the cult who worshiped Ymir, and betrayed her. It was Isayama's way to punish that some of beach
One thing I think Isayama does really well is the character of Floch. I think more than anyone else he represents how someone not affiliated with the main characters would feel. The decision to save Armin may be good later, or it might blow up in their faces. But if the enemies across the sea are as barbaric as they seem, they need a Devil to lead them to victory. And that's what Erwin represented. He could sacrifice hundreds of people in order to complete the mission. And Floch doesn't see that same energy in Armin. Floch needs his Devil. And I really love that he's willing to call out the main characters, because not a lot of people or even shows do that. On another note, seeing Frieda actively try to help Grisha(judging from her expression), before being completely taken over and shut down by the first King's will was really sad. She genuinely seemed like a good person who wanted to help humanity.
SPOILERS: Because of Floch's anger here, I'll admit I was surprised to see him help the Yaegerists later. You'd think he would've bottled up that anger at saving Armin over Erwin, but instead, he became one of the top leaders of the Yaegerists. Also, I will say Erwin living instead is no guarantee that everything will be happy go lucky. He potentially could've negotiated (and fought) for more alliances but unless he can change Eren's mind on getting revenge, not much would change in a timeline where he lives.
@@seancarroll5803 Spoilers: Um, fam? You realize especially with the latest episodes that Kenny is not alone there right? Floch was not "stating facts" when he lashed out like that. Matter of fact, having Erwin survive might've still led to Floch becoming a head strategist in the Yeagerists anyways. What if his fickle self just used Erwin's death charge as a reason to say "Erwin won't be able to make peace with Marley! He'll just get us all killed! Only Eren can save Eldia"? Floch is wrong when he says supposedly having Erwin around would've made things better for the island.
@@seancarroll5803 Yeah, and Floch isn't wrong. Perhaps tactless, but not wrong. He even said the same thing Jean said when he joined the scouts, which is why Jean noticed and reacted. And Levi choosing Armin was an emotional decision, not a logical one. He said it himself, he decided he didn't want to bring Erwin back to this hell, not because he thought Armin was the logical choice for humanity. Even Hange said it should've been Erwin. But the new kid doesn't get to have an opinion apparently.
@@messingmusic_and_animation He absolutely was staying facts. Whether he "lashed out" while speaking the truth is irrelevant. You can hypothesize all you want about how things might have turned out, but it's clear that Erwin was the better choice. Your notion that Floch thought Erwin would just make everything "sunshine and rainbows" is dumb as hell too. Floch had literally just survived a suicide charge at Erwin's orders. A far cry from sunshine and rainbows
“Floch has no right” he fought in a pivotal moment to save humanity, and followed his chain of command to the end. He has every right and is correct on most of his points, his only failure is not recognizing the benefits of acting emotionally and only sees it as a weakness
Yeah and armin contributed way more than floch ever did. Even more than erwin atleast as far as we have seen. Armin was definitely the better choice. Even if erwin was able to grow his limbs back and come back to life he still will remain handicapped by his dead motivation and wont be able to contribute as much
I don’t care what anyone says, Floch is a great character. He had come to terms with his death. He charged right alongside all those who died and he alone is the survivor. He was a new recruit who volunteered to die and lived then the all star team get what they want when it’s clearly not rational. When he sees Armin he sees someone who’s life was placed on a pedestal because he’s a main character while he and everyone of those nameless soldiers were tossed aside.
I mean Armin is responsible for a lot of good that they did though. There's no way to know if Erwin would have been driven to fight either after finding the truth
Floch is 100% right btw, the whole point of that scene is him pointing out all the flaws In our characters, Levi got emotional, he didn’t inject Erwin because he wanted Erwin to rest, if he looked at it objectively Erwin has more achievements than Armin and deserved the Serum more (and Armin is my fav character so no bias)
I agree. Bringing Armin back was a mistake, an emotional mistake by Levi, and many people don't understand that this was meant by the author to be a mistake, it's not a poetic correct choice, it was the wrong rational choice, it was just another person (Levi) showing he still a human with flaws even after acting like a killing machine and sacrificing hundreds of his comrades. Erwin did not care if taking the crown with the military was right or wrong, he just wanted to live and see the basement, showing us that he also prioritized his own ambitions. Mikasa is constantly prioritizing Eren over humanity and one of the major plots of the show (spoiler ahead for who did not finish the show) is Eren doing the rumbling because he wants to, he thinks this is the only way to achieve his "freedom", he was just angry over the world who "stole his freedom". The show is all about how trash we can be, how egotistic we are deep in our hearts. At least that's how i see because in the last chapters of the manga there are more points to reinforce this idea.
@@MatsMatsuo Nah, killing Armin would send Eren into a worse state of mind than he is now. He'll destroy Paradis and later, the rest of the world, leaving no humans alive.
@@MatsMatsuo it was probably a wrong decision for them, but bringing Erwin back wouldn't be great for us 😂 Erwin wouldn't be on Eren's side, the proof is we saw how he "welcomed" Hange well after her death, and how he saw Levi for the last time after Mikasa beheaded Eren. Erwin also cared about humanity more than his friends, he definitely wouldn't be agree with the rumbling. We probably wouldn't be able to see the rumbling as Erwin might be able to stop Eren. I mean genocide isn't right at all but I still love Eren's bold movements on the 4th season, which we wouldn't seen if Erwin didn't die. Isayama made the right decision to kill Erwin
As much as a *I absolutely* hate Floch, right now, just like in the battle he has very valid points. YES, Levi *DO* got emotional, he loved Erwin and wanted him out of this hell, stopping being a monster thanks to others. He on his core knew that Erwin was the best option, and the scouts should know for what and who they are fighting for
Gonna have to disagree cause part of Erwin & Levi's philosophy is that no one can know the outcome, the correct answer is never clear. Act as your conscience dictates to the best of your ability. That's what Levi & Hange told Armin. The serumbowl was never about logistics.
I agree with Floch, just like I agreed with Jean in Season 1. Why should they risk their lives for some unworthy candidate who was revived only due to emotional reasons, when there was a far more capable and willing leader out there that would have been a better choice? They are sacrificing their lives, They DO have the right to decide whether the cause is worth it or not.
The reason why people hate him is because there's a time and place for talk like this qnd there is no point in guiltting ramin and saying that he should've died what's done id done, there is no real reason for him to be so harsh towards armin
armin brought the topic not flock also they show the other solider to prove everyone thinks the same but main character has a titan so his friends live is saved over theirs@@harsh_1910
This is where Eren and Armin diverge - Armin sees adventure, hope when seeing the sea- wanted to see the sea for the sake of just experiencing it. Eren, on the other hand, thought that seeing the ocean would mean freedom. But instead, it's just an expanse of space separating them from their true enemies. I feel bad for Eren here. But I think it means something that the very last image of the end credit- of S3 really- is not Eren but instead Armin with his seashell. That said, I do like it that Armin is represented in the pieces Shingekinokyojin, ThanksAT and this one t-KT that are all over S3P2. These variants may be my favorite of Sawano's creations.
Spoilers That moment is when Eren truly loses all of his freedom. Making a character that yearns for freedom from the start sees a set in stone future is just too brilliant. He is enslaved in his mind by the story and his nature. Eren is one of, if not the best written character that i've ever seen.
@@thewingedone1172 It's a closed loop, it would've happened the way its supposed to happen else a paradox will be created making things even more complicated
It's objective that the decision was made based on emotion. We all get weepy and nod when Levi says he doesn't want Erwin to suffer anymore and when Eren wants his best friend brought back, but get pissed off when Floch points out that the organized military he joined turns out to be run by a group of friends who sees results as secondary to their camaraderie. You're kind of proving his point by just getting mad at him for questioning Levi and Eren just because those are the people you like more.
Yeah pretty much. In fact, to assert that Levi *didn't* get emotional is to say that Levi had no sentimentality at that point and didn't truly care. Which is always the opposite. Levi programs himself to show nothing, but in reality he feels everything.
When the entire survey corps consists of 9 persons and 8 of them have been fighting alongside for quite a while, it's simply inevitable that it basically is just a group of friends. And since they are friends, it's only natural to get emotional and make decisions based on that. This is the kind of thing you just have to deal with as long as this world is still run by human beings. There's no avoiding that. Floch is not wrong here. But tbh, his speech about Erwin being a devil definitely helped Levi make the decision to leave Erwin die in peace, because as a friend Levi doesn't want Erwin to be that devil. It is very simple. Anyone with a decent understanding of human being will know that. Floch gets a point, but he doesn't understand humanity well enough to find the right word to say at the time and he himself is also to be blamed for Levi's decision.
It’s amazing actually, whether intentionally or unintentionally the show consistently exposes the hypocrisy and bias of its viewers, and that regardless of what happens they’ll side with the main character or the person that seems most appealing to them
The way Montana broke down the walls and the hermit crabs was absolutely incredible; I'm really excited for season 4 to see how they react to whether her theories are validated or not.
Eren is defeated because he realized his fight for freedom against the titans was a lie because beyond the walls was the ocean but beyond the ocean were more enemies that was now the entire world that only will lead to more lost despair and blood shed and through all the mental torture he's been through the realization that his fight had only just begun ruined him because the ocean wasn't freedom the ocean was just another wall💔
Yes, and what was the nail on the confin was getting to the beach. The reality set in that what he saw in his dad memories are real, and that now there no going back just forward.
It's amazing, at the time, I thought this episode was kind of boring and slow, but now realizing that this was arguably the most important episode of the series is beautiful.
Yes, each episode has a meaning and connection to what to come. In this one Eren is depressed because the convection of what he has to do, to have freedom for his homeland and friends. His torn up that, that the solution "if we go over there and *kill* all our enemies, will we finally be free? It wasn't a question but a statement. It tragic.
@@jamesklix3814 yes you can even say in metaphor sense. The kiss was a car crash to Eren, the impact, and crash of those memories were him feeling it, the raw shock of it, and after the crash it settling to the reality, because in a car crash you're in shock and after the accident your body start to feel the trauma physically, emotionally and just the after math. Eren getting to the Ocean was reality setting in to what has to happen next.
Well, for eren. He would have enjoyed it more if not for the future memory and the enemies waiting out there Eren was free before basement reveal, then he never was afterwards
WOW montana's thing about the shell is something I never even began to realize, been reading the manga and watching reactions for years and never thought of that. Super insightful!!

On MAL FMAB is rated number 1 and Death note is 67 (I think cuz of all the hate the second half gets) but popularity wise death note is #2 and FMAB #3 Only getting passed by, you guessed it, Attack on Titan
Absolutely among the animes that get the title of legendary is full metal alchemist, code geass, Hunter x Hunter and death note, but the ones that hold up masterpiece of an ending are Code Geass and full metal alchemist.
Agreed , deathnote is a epic in the suspense and psychological, but Full metal alchemist brotherhood hood has all that plus alchemy, tragedy, and comedy so well sown into it. Wonderful and complex antagonists and protagonists and just a masterpiece. It's inspired lots of the new animes like demon slayer sibling bond is strong in both but fma is complete and the original and has beautiful art and voice actors in English are not bad at all. I could go on but overall fmab is the one u should gooo forrr
OMG Montana's shell metaphor! Give that girl 100 + points for insight! It was so beautifully and elegantly articulated and something that never even crossed my mind in all this time, but she nailed it!
The last scene is crazy! He didn’t really know of anything in the memories were truthful till the last part. Him walking around and seeing the same scene that he saw on his memories basically reassured him that yea those memories are in fact real and hold truth to it thus 100% sure that they will never be free till they beat the enemies across. That’s why he was sad
Levi did get emotional, he said it himself... that they were about to bring Erwin back to hell when he was about to be truly free, that's an emotional statement. Fact is, Erwin back would've been good for the same reasons Armin being back, plus morale. But it would've been exasperating for Erwin I bet... that's just speculation.
Like it or not, Floch is 100% correct. Knowing what happens next, think of how it would have turned out if it hadn’t of been the children the ones making the plans.
Man I'm excited to see Montana's reaction to the entire Marley arc. Everyone always interprets it differently so it'll be interesting to see how she reacts to it.
The thing is Floch may have been wrong in the timing of what he said, but everything he said was 100% facts. He lacks empathy, but what’s left of the scout regimen needed someone to slap some realism into them.
The problem I have with floch is okay he might be saying facts but then we don't know who is going to be better this show has been about choices and at any point any choice can be wrong but when the decision has been made you can't change anything actually any choice can be a right or wrong choice and also this man just lack empathy and I have a whole list of reasons why I don't like his character but yeah definitely he is a very well written character but not someone you would like as a person...
Lol the entire show happened and that one turtle titan has just been chilling there the entire time 😂 Jokes aside it's actually really sad when you think about it because reaching the sea was supposed to be where they found their freedom but in actually all Eren found was another wall.

I think its jean that deserve the title, but i dont really kniw if theres more people who will follow their morals or theres more that can unremorsedly and dehumanise those they think of as enemies.
No. Floch was a good written character but his ideology was retarded. If erwin would have been here he would have sacrificed historia, but eren didn't want any of his friends to be sacrificed. And eren was doing everything not to protect eldia but just his friends and to go for his childish sense of freedom. War will never end. Paradisians themselves will fight amongst each other and war over resources. Simple fact is that eren succeeded by giving his friends long lives He never cared about eldia, he used floch as a pawn. That's it. Eren talking about paradis future is a cover up for the inner desire to see outside world being wiped out. But he saw that he would never complete rumbling and knew that mikasas choice would somehow eradicated titans and therefore he kept moving forward. Mikasas choice represented freedom to not only ymir but also to eren. Not to just kill him but to wear the scarf and tell him that she will always remember him. This made eren loath less and feel comforted that someone important exists in his life who would always be there by his side. Thus eren died with a faint a smile.
12:15 The thing is...Levi did get emotional. A truly emotionless, but logical decision would be to let Erwin continue to live and suffer since he's the soldier with more experience as well as the one who has provided the most for humanity. While Armin's win over the colossal is impressive, it pales in comparison to everything Erwin has done. Levi acted with emotion by letting Erwin finally be at peace, no longer forcing him to commit terrible sins for humanity's benefit.
WOW I've watched hours or analysis, video essays, and articles. I have never heard someone mention that shell like that. That's incredible and really fits the themes. There's one essay I loved where the guy talked about how freedom is an unreachable object and that hermit shell metaphor fits TOO perfectly to not be intended.
Wow Montana's shell theory is so great! But I think you guys missed a step - if they crossed the sea and killed all their enemies, the remaining population would just find enemies again in each other, in a neverending cycle. It's something Pixis says in season 1 - before titans, humanity fought amongst themselves instead. Also I noticed for the first time that the shell's open side is facing up and surrounded by water the first time we see it, the next time it is closed and dry...
That hermit crab shell symbolism is actually insane and makes a lot of sense. I don't know if that was it's intended metaphor but to me it is correct. Big brain!
Gahhhhh this episode, gets me all misty eyed every time. Also, Montana you blew my mind with that hermit crab analogy. I've never heard that parallel made before, but it seems so very profound that I can't help but wonder if it was intended and you're the only one ever to get it lol. Either way, loved all the reactions for this season and can't wait for the next!
I kinda like Floch. I appreciate it when someone can say the truth even if it's uncomfortable. Also, Kenny's hatred for floch will make his reactions in S4 quite interesting lol
There is not a scenario where Floch was right at all, nor is he even speaking sincerely. He even said on the roof that his desire to save Erwin was to punish him, not because he cared about his leadership.
Its kind of interesting how basically no one pieces it together that Reiner, Bertholt, and Annie were children when they first broke through the walls.
I think Fma and death note are both awesome choices. I guess if you’re feeling a little emotionally worn out from aot, full metal is a little more light hearted
This is a heartbreaking episode. All the sacrifices made, blood, sweat, tears poured out for a taste of freedom only to find out the whole damn world is against you.
So I have a bit of an issue. *Warning: Spoilers for Season 4 Part 2 Below* I hope this comment doesn’t get deleted, and there’s obviously no way for me to know this for sure, but I’m getting the feeling that Kenny may have been spoiled or watched further ahead into the anime than he claims he did. Also, when looking at their Patreon, it appears they recorded this reaction just a few days AFTER the “Memories of the Future” episode aired in Japan. In this reaction, Kenny theorized that when Eren touches Historia’s hand, he believes Eren saw his future and how everything ends, and that’s why he’s acting so weird. But at this point in the story, this requires some MASSIVE logical leaps, even when taking into account that Kenny claims to have watched the first 7 episodes of Season 4 Part 1. Firstly, when Eren touches Historia’s hand, the anime shows us, the audience, flashes of Grisha’s memories as he was pleading to the king of the walls, and it ends with Eren making a similar, angry facial expression as Grisha. For Kenny to have come up with his theory, he would have to assume that Eren saw much more than just the memories that were shown to the audience, but there’s absolutely nothing in this episode or the first 7 episodes of Season 4 Part 1 that even remotely indicate this. Secondly, Kenny claims that he believes this theory since it would explain why Eren’s behavior has changed, but I don’t feel this explanation really makes much sense. From the moment the Scouts reached the basement and Eren unlocked his father’s past memories, his general demeanor changed pretty significantly. After experiencing Grisha’s past, Eren was pretty zoned out and was really low-energy compared to his normal self. The only scene that takes place AFTER Eren touches Historia’s hand is when the Scouts leave the walls to see the ocean, but his behavior in these moments isn’t really too different from how he has been acting since he reached the basement, and can very easily be explained by the revelation of the outside world and that he learned they weren’t truly free. Lastly, why, of all things, would Kenny immediately assume that Eren saw memories of himself doing something “terrible”? Eren could have just as easily seen something completely different, like something terrible happening to his friends, like Mikasa and Armin, and that made him afraid of the future. Instead, he lands perfectly on the exact thing that Eren experienced, even though Kenny never really gave a good reason for why he thought this, especially when we know this reaction was recorded days after the anime actually revealed what Eren saw that day. If my hunch is correct, I think it would be really unfortunate if he was potentially ruining Montana’s reaction just so he can look smart by having an accurate “prediction”.
Congratulations, you finished the prologue! Welcome to the real story now.

@@Rin_isobu kid's too naive and idealistic. Time to make him do adulting lol.
Objectively, Levi DID get emotional over his choice, he even admits it to Eren and Hange.
Ok but that’s something that Erwin wanted. Whether floch liked it or not, the ACTUAL truth is that Erwin did want to rest, objectively floch also got emotional especially at the funeral.
Me while watching Eren scream and whine about making his enemies suffer in previous seasons: *Eren, calm down, stop making empty threats.*
Me now: *Well I guess those weren't empty threats. My bad.*
Ah yes, the last time we see any of the main cast happy. It's like this episode is saying: Congrats, you can watch the actual adult show now.
Technically we see the main cast happy all the way in Marley when they’re living among them, both being shown later on and is timeline wise ~a year after the episode
"Eren Optimism Counter : FINAL"
That...that hurt so much, and yet it's so true.
And that hermit crab shell symbolism...I'd never even considered anything close to this. It's amazing watching you guys.
I don't really know how to describe it, but I just love how blue the ocean is. It almost seems magical.
Well, that's how it felt to them.

That's an Armin
Yeah theres no polution
This episode has the most important kiss in the history of fiction. A simple gesture of fealty for some is a game changer for Isayama.
It changed the destiny of all the world.
Armin spoke about the ocean really early in s1, and now actually seeing ocean, they have truly come so far

SPOILERS:
Because of Floch's anger here, I'll admit I was surprised to see him help the Yaegerists later.
@@seancarroll5803 Spoilers:
Um, fam?
Exactly.
Yeah, tragic characters have more of a right to judge and question than spectators free from pain and terror.
I LOVE HIM AS A CHARACTER, but i also hate him at the same time
Yea u can hate floch but appreciate him as a much needed character in the show
I don’t hate anything he says or does as much as his hair lol
@@JamesJones-ts5fl His hairstyle is good in season 4 at least
I mean Armin is responsible for a lot of good that they did though. There's no way to know if Erwin would have been driven to fight either after finding the truth
Loved the shell metaphor about the walls! Such a new perspective that I never considered but it makes sense!
Floch is 100% right btw, the whole point of that scene is him pointing out all the flaws In our characters, Levi got emotional, he didn’t inject Erwin because he wanted Erwin to rest, if he looked at it objectively Erwin has more achievements than Armin and deserved the Serum more (and Armin is my fav character so no bias)
but you’re right tbh
ALL HAIL FLOCH!
@@1999bazz You could be right, but the Emotional choice Levi has made was part of his character arc
That is true. As an Ackerman, Levi's host is Erwin. He became emotional by choosing the commander and putting him to rest.

to eren
I agree with Floch, just like I agreed with Jean in Season 1. Why should they risk their lives for some unworthy candidate who was revived only due to emotional reasons, when there was a far more capable and willing leader out there that would have been a better choice? They are sacrificing their lives, They DO have the right to decide whether the cause is worth it or not.
Fr, everyone hates Floch for this scene. But this is the only scene where I completely agree with him.
These variants may be my favorite of Sawano's creations.
floch does have a point, outside this group we been following armin is just some dude that got chosen over the COMMANDER

That moment is when Eren truly loses all of his freedom. Making a character that yearns for freedom from the start sees a set in stone future is just too brilliant. He is enslaved in his mind by the story and his nature. Eren is one of, if not the best written character that i've ever seen.

Isayama is a master at exposing the audiences hypocrisy.
Yeah pretty much. In fact, to assert that Levi *didn't* get emotional is to say that Levi had no sentimentality at that point and didn't truly care. Which is always the opposite. Levi programs himself to show nothing, but in reality he feels everything.
@@BigLipBoy Same happens with Gross' death
It’s amazing actually, whether intentionally or unintentionally the show consistently exposes the hypocrisy and bias of its viewers, and that regardless of what happens they’ll side with the main character or the person that seems most appealing to them
We’re starting to get into territory that Kenny doesn’t even know yet. Wait till they see what caused Eren’s reaction to that kiss

“Nobody knows what the future holds”

Awe Appa looks so beautiful in the thumbnail, pretty baby🥺 (so do Montana and Kenny don’t get me wrong)
Lol the entire show happened and that one turtle titan has just been chilling there the entire time 😂
Jokes aside it's actually really sad when you think about it because reaching the sea was supposed to be where they found their freedom but in actually all Eren found was another wall.

Simple fact is that eren succeeded by giving his friends long lives
He never cared about eldia, he used floch as a pawn.
This thumb is perfection, i loved the dogo and the image they used from the episode
Ho boy, I can't wait for them to watch the s4 on sunday
Wow Montana's shell theory is so great! But I think you guys missed a step - if they crossed the sea and killed all their enemies, the remaining population would just find enemies again in each other, in a neverending cycle. It's something Pixis says in season 1 - before titans, humanity fought amongst themselves instead.
Also I noticed for the first time that the shell's open side is facing up and surrounded by water the first time we see it, the next time it is closed and dry...
Damn Montana
you are a true genius, honestly
That hermit crab shell symbolism is actually insane and makes a lot of sense. I don't know if that was it's intended metaphor but to me it is correct. Big brain!

“This is the last interaction I’ve seen with him, but I hate Floch.”

I think Fma and death note are both awesome choices. I guess if you’re feeling a little emotionally worn out from aot, full metal is a little more light hearted
This episode is emotional damage, I'm literally crying right now

So I have a bit of an issue.
*Warning: Spoilers for Season 4 Part 2 Below*
I hope this comment doesn’t get deleted, and there’s obviously no way for me to know this for sure, but I’m getting the feeling that Kenny may have been spoiled or watched further ahead into the anime than he claims he did.
If my hunch is correct, I think it would be really unfortunate if he was potentially ruining Montana’s reaction just so he can look smart by having an accurate “prediction”.
i dont know man, i thought the same thing Kenny did, granted your right theres nothing to indicate the hunch is true, twas just a feeling it gave off
