I can't fathom for a single second why this game was not even nominated for "Best Score and Music" for Game Awards 2024. Every single piece of music not only is a masterpiece, but also helps tell you a story. The music blends with the narrative so well that you can grasp what the people of the city go through to survive. It makes you feel the weight of your decisions and what's at stake should you fail. It truly makes the game an incredibly immersive experience.
The Anger fits so well with the ending of the game. Hearing this i can just imagine a massive column of enforcers walking down the streed of the Straiking district ready to enforce the law of the new Captain
@@brettgattinger3338 definetly one of my favourites aswell, I got goosebumps when it started playing, seeing New London again, and so big this time around felt so good
I think this soundtrack is a big step up from the first game. There were a few good tracks in the first game, but literally all of these, I've actually caught myself just sitting on pause in game to listen to the rest of the track before going back to actually playing the game.
You can feel the weight in the string sections on the songs here. A few seconds of what appears to be hesitation to play gives a sense of the enormous proportions in motion.
The theme song I keep imagining this as a tv series, game of thrones like intro. and it would be changing with season.. you slowly exit the furnace of New London, amber and smoke giving way to eternal cold. Zooming out on the frostlands. Empty for miles across. And then speed, the city growing out, building erecting.. trains and snowmotors leaving out for distance lands. The council hall in all its glory and everything... and then a hint of destruction, violence, anger. A shattering as cracks of oil appear. Potentially every season gets worse and worse but the city also gets bigger and bigger. You get to see faction and group symbols on buildings, automatons walking.. Airships flowing
@@danielvasquez320 eu gostei, algumas tem traços similares à primeira, há algumas que amei como Anger por ser bem enérgica, há outras que realmente trazem uma aura e clima de tensão, porém achei as da 1 mais criativas/originais e variadas
Realizing that the OST is part of the reason Frostpunk 2 just doesn't feel as good as Frostpunk 1 to play. It's not just the pops it's the sound, Frostpunk 1 is always playing this violin music in the background, picking it up for tempests, not a lot of wasted noise. Too much of this OST feels like ambient background noise or over the top orchestra.
I wonder why they call you Steward. i thought you should be the Captain or Mayor? maybe they revere the old Captain so much they don't want to call you by the same title? Steward is a person who looks after the passengers on a ship. but you are actually managing the ship (City) even Keeper would be more fitting than Steward.
@@sunso1991 I suppose you are catering to the needs and wants of every faction since the Captain ruled with an iron fist and left no room for trivial trifles like democracy and choice
A steward was also someone who managed a city when the ruler was gone. Or you manage a large household or estate. I have not played the game yet, but does this track?
I guess with the name and the sound also being somewhat reminiscent of the storm-theme from the first game: I guess this plays during a whiteout or another type of storm?
@@CecilyThanador It's not as severe as the Storm in FP 1, but longer, it is called Whiteout. There are reasons why the "storm" we encountered in FP 1 is called The Great Storm, due to its severe in temperature drop rate, lowest temperature in FP history (maybe), highest wind force/loads, etc. And also the first of its kind.

I have waited so long for this OST. Absolutely peak as always.
I love untied and the ending surrounding it. It seems like the hardest to achieve and it rewards you with the masterpiece of the song.

Anger's last few seconds is just basically a remix of the last few seconds of The City Must Survive which was the best soundtrack in Frostpunk.

It's a bit soon to tell, but I think "Trails We Once Forged" take first place for me.
Half the reason I love these games so much is the soundtrack. It's so damn good

does anyone know where you can find the marching drum part they played at the end of almost every city unbound episode?

Who else came here, muted their ingame sound/music due to constant static audio, and started this playlist instead?
Саундтрек хороший, но имхо какой-то плоский по сравнению с предыдущей частью. С "The City Must Survive" ни один трек не сравнился.
