- Highlights of the 2012 Cotton Bowl between the #6 Razorbacks and #8 Wildcats. Arkansas would win 29-16 in the first meeting between the two programs since 1967. The victory gave the Hogs an 11-2 record and #5 final ranking, both the 11 wins and Top 5 finish were the first since 1977. This was the 12th Cotton Bowl appearance for Arkansas, which is third most all-time. This was also the Razorbacks first Cotton Bowl win since a 27-6 rout of Texas in 2000.
Kansas State finished the season 10-3 and #15. - Спорт
Arkansas was undoubtedly the 3rd best team in the nation this year. Only losses were away losses at LSU and Alabama.
if memory serves, the only time Bama was beating us in that game was the last minute and a half....
Ethan Jenkins No, they won 38-14. It was 17-7 at half thanks to a pick-six and fake field goal. They also got a punt return for a TD in the second half.
Boomer sooner.
@@ryanjenkins7023 You're thinking of 2010.
Razorbacks had the best receivers in the nation that year without question. Adams, Wright, Hamilton, Childs, throw in Gragg at TE. They were fun to watch.
Dennis MF Johnson
The future was so bright that night. What a great team! Excited to see if Coach Pittman and Briles can generate some offense for the first time in a long time.
What are your thoughts after the Texas win?
@@andyandyandy5781 I think we're headed in the right direction. After just a couple off-seasons the coaching staff has developed and recruited some really talented players on both sides of the ball.
@@rickleasurewell…it’s been 2 years. How bout now?
@@church-e-drummer Hope springs eternal in June, but I was at the Arkansas-Missouri game last year and it was...really bad.
Coming back in 2023 to watch this as petrino is back home!!
We bout to run it back with BMFP.. bout to give em Hell on da Hill!#WPS🐗
I remember telling my sister that lives in Kansas to tell any of her friends that were Kansas state fans. That the Razorbacks were going to have Kansas state mild cats for dinner. Lol.
Tyler Wilson had so much heart for the game ♥️
So weird to think how good we were such a short time ago.
I miss this team so much
Honestly one of my favorite wins, that game was as big as a BCS game that year. That was a really good KSU squad but we're a different animal.
Yes sir, Arkansas took care of the Big 12 champs no problem!
I know this is crazy . I’m a real big auburn fan but, Bobby petrino era with that multiple offense was top tier . I love sitting back and watch them play, you’ll never see anything like that again.
I'm about to play this matchup on Ncaa football 14. Great upload! #GoHogs
Damn this was a good Arkansas team. Wish our defense had that much intensity and power and speed this year in 2022. Unfortunately Arkansas isn't even close to that level of defense. Barry Odoms' 3 man rush never yeilded that many sacks.
We led the SEC in sacks this season and were two shy of the program record set in 1998. That 2011 defense was okay, but it wasn't as good as you remember.
If I were to build the ultimate Razorback team using members from any year, half would be from this year. I lived blocks away from Donald Reynolds' field for years and can still remember the cheers
If there was a CFP in 2011, there is a really good possibility the SEC might have gotten three teams in. Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas.
The incredible thing about Arkansas in 2011 was it didn't have a bona fide superstar. That team was a whole that was greater than the sum of its parts.
I'd consider Joe Adams a superstar. Dude was the second coming of DeSean Jackson
If you watched that year, it was wright. He compared nicely to Robert woods or broyles who were both biletnikoff award finalist that year.
What made this team so great was they took a kneel way ahead with 5 seconds left on the K-State 10 yard line. Too bad Texas A&M didn't have that much class when they ran up the score also ahead. SPORTSMANSHIP is what class is all about.
I cant belive how good our defense was!!
Such a fun team to watch
Bobby Petrino and his offense is back!!!
Great video.
You know you're deep at WR/TE when Cobi Hamilton is your 3rd/4th option.
Does anyone remember how biased these commentators were towards k-state?
They were borderline depressed by that last pick by Jerico.
In every game ever commentators are biased against Arkansas.
I don't remember that, but I do remember looking at the KState message boards prior to the game and they were giving the Hogs zero respect. It surprised me because this UA team was really good but the fans of an over-hyped Wildcat team were treating them as an afterthought. I also remember getting extremely nervous after the blocked XP.
What Makes This Game More Exciting Was Gus Johnson Was Calling This One
The last of the good days...
2023 PETRINO IS BACK
Man I hope he can rekindle that offensive firepower. I know they are catching a lot of flack over lost recruits. The thing to me is the Austin ledbetter move from pitcher to QB. He is an almost clone of Tyler Wilson from the film I've saw. Perfect QB for a Petrino offense. Of course it's a wide open competition but this guy has the tools to run bps offense
Man what a fun time to be a hog fan that was
Oh how nice it was to be relevant.....WPS!
Bobby Petrino's last game at Arkansas before he straddled up on a Long Legged Blonde!
That’s how it’s done
The best team that never made it to a BCS bowl game.
Just got throttled at home by an inferior auburn. Pulled this up to see what's possible and what had been
I remember how cocky K-State fans were before this game. We played like a C grade game and still cruised by 13. Damn shame we couldn't play in a BCS bowl.
It was bizarre how arrogant they were. They were running their mouths before the Liberty Bowl, too.
@@WARMACHINE2013 To be fair, we were actually ranked #1 for about 8 seconds in 2012, until Baylor beat us 55-0. Lol!
Lol yea, I remember watching that one. KSU still won the Big 12 that year though. Snyder did a remarkable job there.
Gg from KSU fan lmao
Go Hog"s!!!!
Watching this 5 days before Petrino comes back to Fayetteville with Missouri state, LOL
damnit bobby!
Ahhhh...the good ole days. Sigh.
i'm starting to feel like this never actually happened and we've always been dogshit
Are you sure this isn't fake? I mean, an Arkansas defense pressuring a qb and getting sacks? C'mon man :)
yeah fr. Always remembered the Petrino Razorbacks as being offense first, defense second, but the defense in 2011 was cracked.
@@shchorss our front 7 was good. It was our DBs that couldn't play the ball in the air to save their lives.
Bobby is back!
Exactly I hope saam is smart enough to let bp run HIS offense. This ledbetter move is very intriguing to me. Watching film he is very similar to Tyler Wilson. Going to be interesting to see who comes out on top.
I’ll never forget how much smack talk K State threw around before that game.
That was a rare year when the Hogs had a QB.
Guess who's back? Back again Guess who's back Guess who's back? Now this looks like a job for me. We need a little controversy. Because it fills so empty without me.
Kline was god awful. That 8 ranking was a joke.
The Arkansas defense came to play that night. If they had played like that all year it would have been a natty. But, they totally blew it during the regular season. Cool to look back at the Petrino years and see when we were actually relevant. Hoping he can rekindle that same offensive firepower as the OC .
