- KXAS-TV (NBC) Trailblazing 1993 retransmission campaign, conceived and led by then-station owner LIN-TV executive Lee Spieckerman. Major local cable company Telecable (now part of Spectrum) tried to play hardball when KXAS demanded dollars to carry the station. But that cable company was blindsided by KXAS' brutal marketing blitz, which enabled the station to garner compensation from Telecable weeks after the campaign commenced.
is this one of the first well know contract dispute commercials ever made.
24 years ago, these weren't common as they have become in the last 10 years as TV Networks and cable/satellite providers have gotten greedier since 1993.
Comcast removed local tv channels.
