@@gino55yo hi Bruno, if you’re doing surf casting in SoCal, I recommend using a Carolina Rig (1/2oz to 3/4oz egg sinker weight) with a 1 1/2 inch crappie slider (pumpkin color). The sabiki rig works better at the pier. But to be honest, as long as you can read the beach and find the fish, you can throw anything down there and they’ll bite. Sabiki's work better off piers. I catch plenty of sardine, smelt, lizard fish and a cormorant on the Hueneme pier. Tried sabiki's on Hueneme beach south of the pier, but didn't catch anything. 2" gulp sandworms are what seems to catch the most fish when I surf fish Ventura, Oxnard or Port Hueneme.
@@norme1850 I totally agree. I just wanted to see how the sabiki rig does on the surf. Next time I come down, I’ll try it again at a different beach. 5th street is a little too rough for me. I also tried pier fishing for the first time at Hueneme and I’m hooked!
Hello I love your videos.
My favorite technique is the sabiki.
Do you have any tips or tricks to succeed?
I’m going fishing with my family.
Thank you🙋
