    Very clear explanations, Drew! And we don't want to overlook the attentive gaze and sincere head nods from an attractive woman that say "He's not just handsome; he knows things!"

    I hope y’all get a chance to do an episode on how you wired all those lights. I am both beyond impressed and also beyond overwhelmed watching all those different switches flip 😹 Great work!!

    While I was sitting on the couch glassy eyed, I could hear Troy next to me finishing Drew's sentences as he did. 😲 Thank God Troy is a Kevin and a Drew all in one. ❤
    And I'll take the packet you were selling at the beginning in Gibbish please. Oh, and at the lower second price that was mentioned. 👍

    Nice system you did there, only thing missing for me is a way to charge while driving. I don’t have a lot for room for that many panels so I know I’m going to something different, may have to go 12 volt to do that.
    Thanks for the video.

    Awesome work! I love the thought you put into the needs of the future occupant of the bus and wanting to give them components they could seek help with in the future.
    (As much as I was hoping for a build from cells). I have done my own solar and still learned things in this video.

    Hey Drew, excellent work, and good job explaining the system. Savanna, great nodding and tool handing. I clearly remember the moment turning on the system the first time, (did I get it all right, is she gonna blow?) and the satisfaction when it all works. I went with 12 volts, and the charge controller was Expensive! I guess the upside was that when I found that there was room in the battery compartment for a third Battleborn battery (because I could put 1 on it's side and 2 on their ends) being wired parallel made it possible to add the third battery. In the space that we had 2 lead acid batteries, 3 lithium batteries and a pressure cooker/air fryer now fit in the same space. With the time, thought and effort ya'll have put into this build, someone is gonna get a RV of quality that is not available on the market.

      Ok so I am not an electrical person either....and I may have missed it but do you have a way to plug in at like an rv park in addition to the solar ....in case it rains for like a week???

    The video we've all been waiting for yess! Great detail once again. Did you guys only use 2 12v batteries for that whole system

    OUTSTANDING! Quick question for Drew....@ 9:43 there is a great view of the insides of your Lynx Distribution. There are three fuses (200a, 100a, and 40a). Could you detail which components correspond to each fuse, please? Thanks, y'all!

    • @jaywilliams510
      @jaywilliams510 2 роки тому

      Also, since the charge controller and the batteries are both connected to the bus bars in the Lynx Distribution, does the circuitry in the Lynx Distribution ensure that the power coming from the solar charge controller only goes into the battery bank? I’m wondering how the power from the solar charge controller doesn’t leech over to the other circuits since they are all connected to the same positive bus bar.
      PS - If the answers to these questions are too in-depth for the UA-cam comments section, please let me know and I'll try to schedule a one-on-one call through your website.

    Brilliant and understandable explanations! Thanks a lot for that! Been binge-watching all your build vids in the last few days and learned a lot about carpentering from Savannah - what a pro you are! - and finally the electrical system! All so well explained and shown! Thanks again, and - looking forward to the next one! Cheerio!
    PS: Did you include a switch-over arrangement to charge the house batteries, while driving, once the vehicle battery is fully charged?

    Drew you really did an excellent job on the solar system. All your connections look sound well thought out. I didn't see the solar panels listed in your parts list. The last part of this week or did I miss something.

    You always do a great and funny video. Thank you for making the electric so I understand it a little. One question, are you putting lights under the bottom of the bus? Check out "the campulance man" video on youtube. He put lights on the bottom of his rig to help stop mouse coming in the rig. It works, check it out. Does not cost much. God bless, safe roads. Russ and Keira.

    Hey Drew and Savanah, We been following you for quite a while now and you've even been an inspiration for us buying our own shuttle bus and converting it! We are about 3/4 the way to the end of our conversion and are working on our solar system. I have watched your solar installation MANY times and have found it extremely helpful. I did have a question about the dc to dc step. I've been very confused by this because everything I've read says if you've got a inverter charger you don't need a converter. Can you clarify that for me?
    We really appreciate you guys and live your videos! Happy travels!!

    • @OurWayToRoam
      @OurWayToRoam  2 роки тому +1

      Hey! Thank you so much! This specific inverter charger only handles taking DC to 110 AC. For the DC side of your distribution panel you have to convert it to 12v if it isnt already. For example in this bus, we had a 24v battery pack so it had to be stepped down.

      @@OurWayToRoam Thank you so much! I think we actually have the same Inverter Charger that you guys have, I'll need to double check the manual. By the way, the new project's looking great! We've really enjoyed seeing the progress! Thanks again!

    Hi! I've been watching a lot of your videos to help me build my mobile barbershop. I see you only use a solar. I have a generator and solar panels. Is there a way I can connect my circuts to both generator and solar so when I'm not using my solar panels I can just use my generator? Is that possible? Like for a back up for longer usage.

    I was under the impression your husband was electric tech and you was more the carpentry but I'm not sure I made the right decision. I really like watching you both but I like couple being courtesies to one another. I'm sorry but I am the same way with people I talk to who don't give me the opportunity to finish and not interrupt me. You are great couple but please let your husband finish what he trying to say
