My Dad was a wheat sheep farmer at Tamworth and bought his first WD9 in 53 and ended up with 2 x WD 9 and a 1956 Super WD9...he used to run them as a 3 tractor fleet...sold them in 1973....The Super WD9 was same as your 650 only different paint job.....Super WD9 even cracked it head.....Standard WD9 x2 were bullet proof .....no problems with them

Usually we see that engine in 'MD's, this is first 650 I have ever seen.

Yeah we have a 650 and the neighbours have a super D9 same thing just different colours prone to cracking the head in the injector ports we've got 3 old cracked heads farmed with the 650 as a kid.

My old man had a 1955 example AOS6 and it started on petrol and switched to power kerosene when hot …
She looked very similar to this …
    No injection though

All the gas start IHC diesels had cracked head issues. Poor design of the internal passages in the head would cause hot spots and cracks would ensue. Was an inconviencience even when new heads were readily avilable from harvestor. Now that option is long gone, getting a competent re welded head today is near impossible, as many times the crack isn't fixable.

Do you know if the Australian version of the Farmall A or B was ever made with a diesel engine? I have a B that I’d love to switch to diesel and keep it IH without going to kubota, Cummins etc for repower.
