Thanks you for this video! It's rare to find good English videos about secondary nations in WW2. My family is from north Transylvania and one of my grandparents was in the tank crew
That’s a very interesting armored vehicle. I was focusing on the ones that we produced in somewhat modest numbers but the Maresal TD would be interesting to cover in a later video.
If only romania had just sided with the allies, we'd be very technologically advanced in east europe and be capitalist from the end of the war instead of communist. Although, given romanias position in 1940s, its understandable why we went with Germany instead of getting screwed like yugoslavia did
No Chance.Hungary did that and had to support same faitfh, or worse,as all east countries of Europe. That was the secret outcome from Yalta meeting, between Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt. Nothing could be done.
Tu citesti ce tampenii scrii? Did you read what aberrations typed above? Did you ever read about geopolitical situation in 1940 and about internal political situation of that period? How could romania choose allied as they look already badly defeated and unable to keep it up with german military technology and field strategy?
If Romania wouldn't side with Reich it would be quickly overrun by Germans anyway due to oil it had which was scarce for Axis and so the Romanian oilfields were in great importance for Germany.
So, tanks with thin armor, no radio, no gunner and no guns. Wouldn't inflatable decoy tanks have worked better? Thousands of them might just have confused a tired, near-sighted enemy for a few minutes.
well you have to understand we had no industry almost and no prior experience. only custom coach cars were built in Transilvania. But still we had good ideas. Look at the Maresal TD. Germans copied the concept and made the hetzer. not just a supposition they said they did having sent advisors to evaluate it and the liked the concept.
This is a poor video. Much of the footage is German and Soviet showing German and Soviet Tanks. Show proper footage of the Romanian Tank design. Many times the narrative keeps repeating what was announced earlier in the video.
I would love to include footage of Romanian tanks, but because the vehicles are so rare it is difficult to find proper footage of them. I included images instead.
It is nice to see some one investicate history of our ally.
Well done Romania !!! 🇹🇩🇹🇩🇹🇩🇹🇩

Glad you enjoyed it!
Where is the Maresal tank destroyer?
The Romanian army by herself took Odessa.
Good concise format, youll make it big soon bro, interesting and well researched as well!
Wow this channel is really underrated
You can tell how much research he did
Thank you for the comment!
What about MARESAL TD ???
Yes where is the mareșalul the tank that inspire the germans to build the jagerpazenr 35(t) (the hetzer)
@@alinaasandei9172the maresal was just a prototype and never saw combat, so that’s why it wasn’t in the video
There were actually a few panthers in the romanian army that were captured at the end of the war 👍
Do french tank always do the jump when getting destroyed?
Edit: at 9:50 - 9:51
It's French footage rather than Romainian
you guys make very interesting videos, but the background music is terribly annoying, and utterly unnecessary!
Thank you. Will consider this for the future
No its not, the music is pretty cool
i disagree. they are all romanian military songs from the period. like using erika for the germans
Mareshal TD?

Side with the allies just like Poland did, they were very capitalistic and technologically advanced after the war
So, tanks with thin armor, no radio, no gunner and no guns. Wouldn't inflatable decoy tanks have worked better? Thousands of them might just have confused a tired, near-sighted enemy for a few minutes.
😅...Still, you have to admit from 10 to 12 mm front armour improvement made a substantial difference..😅

@@General_History Fair enough.
there is no footage. comunist upevil after the war and a revolution guaranteed public records will be lost in some capacity.@@General_History
Oh shut up he tried his best at least give him ways that could have helped when he was making it so he can redo it and actually be constructive
