- Join me for a stroll in "The Burg!" I got to see a number of unique businesses, beautiful outdoor plazas, a vintage movie theater and so much more! I also helped some really nice folks move some furniture, checked out a great game shop, and was hard pressed to find any litter throughout this beautiful community. The streets were and sidewalks were immaculate, the green space was very well taken care of, and there was a visible police presence. Some people get nervous seeing police, but it makes me feel super safe!! This is a city that's doing it right and a place you most definitely should visit!!

The buildings at the end of town, are College Dorms. If you would have kept walking, you would have been at the College of the Cumberlands. About middle of this video, when you looked up to the right, the building you mentioned, were those dorms and College buildings. It really would have blown your mind. Very beautiful that way. My family is from Whitley County. I'm glad you liked our small town, yet there is so much more to see. 💙💙💙

My Appalachian Hillbilly Coal Mining family (my father, grandfather, grandmother and several generations) are from there. My grandmother was raised in the long gone Bon Jellico coal camp out on 92. I was born and raised in Philadelphia PA. Visited Williamsburg in 1990 for my grandmother’s funeral.

Many restaurants in rural communities are closed on Sundays and Mondays because of Church, Traffic and to give the workers time to go to church and have 2 days off in a row. Saturdays tend to have more traffic and business opportunities.
