I have a new 2021 Cobalt. At 7 hours of operation, following the break-in procedure, the engine died. It was diagnosed at the dealer. They found zero compression on #1 cylinder and a mark on top of the piston. Major failure at just 7 hours. Said there was a bulletin on bad valve springs. Be aware.

I hope its water pump last longer than the mercruiser 6.2 bearing go bad locking up pulley throwing off belt leavening you stranded 3 miles from truck and trailer at 149hrs at a cost of 875 dollars
Impressed Volvo-Penta can get 430 HP out of a small block 6.2L!!!..... but VERY disappointed that the 380 HP is the exact same engine internally with only an ECU de-tune to fill the horsepower gap.....and then you pay $8-10k to delete this de-tune if you want the 430HP! C'mon man.:-(((((
430hp from a 6.2L has nothing to do with Volvo Penta. It’s GM’s engine. It’s a great motor but it does not deliver the torque of the 8.2L big block from Mercury.
Wish I could find winterizing info on my gen 5 4.3 volvo penta engine without easy drain.

Hello Ray, we're sorry to hear you've experienced issues. Is everything okay with the engine now, or can we help you in any way?
Is there a general consensus on which is more reliable between the 4.3L and 5.3L?
They all suck... Every. Single. Solitary. Engine that's in or on a boat sucks. Lol. They're ALL money pits!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why is this generation red?🤔
How much?
Where is the oil filter on the 350 v8

Just means it's cheap to get the big power by buying the smaller one and remapping it
I think that isn't true. If the gear ratio is tuned to the power band. This 6.2 will weigh hundreds of lbs less. And at 430hp. Beat a stock merk 454
Cleaner than Evinrude
