Sunny gets my vote, it's not often the original version is not the best! I bought this when a hormonal young man and wanted to play doctors and nurses with her.
1974 Americana discoteque Edinburgh Scotland. I was far away from my home town Rome Italy...used to work and live in Scotland. I remember this song very well indeed, along with Kung fu fighting Rock your baby and many many more...
Ray W I was 10 in 1970 and turned 20 in December 1979 , so all my teen years were spent in the 70s , I know we see everything in the past thru rose tinted glasses , in school we got the cane , you only ate what you were given , if you didn't like it you're mum would say do without ? if needed any money you got a Saturday job , so in hindsight there were some hard times , but would I go back ? In a heartbeat !!!
David i go back to 70s twice yearly (Minehead Butlins) The teenagers that once were are like me grey haired some with none, Dodgy hips/ knees but all with one thing in common 1970s music and fashion gotta love it...
Teenager in Redditch, under 18 disco on a Monday night, eyeing up the girls but far too shy to do anything about it, damn you acne, still wonderful memories
The "dogs"... Apart from a sublime voice. I think she was a cracking looking woman....P.S....Check out , Brotherhood of man..."United we stand". She,s part lead vocalist. And a beautiful song...
1974: also recorded by Carol Douglas for Midland International/RCA in the US; one of the first major Disco hits over here. An interesting arrangement for the UK pop market, and Sunny Leslie is remembered here for her lead vocal with Tony Burrows on "United We Stand", from Brotherhood of Man in 1970.
I finally found Sunny's "Doctor's Orders" on CD. It's on the Music Club compilation "It's The Sensational 70's". Catalogue number MCCD 051 if anyone's interested.
