  • There are several ways to create a half-lap joint, and I can't claim proficiency at any of them. So when my latest project not only required the joint, but it also had to be angled, it's safe to say I was trying to think of any and every other joinery alternative I could use.
Regardless, sometimes you just can't find a replacement for what just works.

Have not done that type of a lap before, but this made it look very do able. Thanks for the video

Looks nice. You have given me the impetus to actually buy a dado stack and try this on the table saw. ( I had previously done all the work on my router)
    Great video!

@KelMaster Construction Yeah, I'm sure it is. The router is putsy and underpowered compared to the table saw. Is there a brand of dado that you'd suggest?

That last cut seemed extremely dangerous.

Really helpful video, thank you! You mentioned that there are better ways to do this joint, what is your preferred method ?

What angle did you go with for these?

I'm building a desk using the same style legs. What other, more simple, joints do you think could get this done?

A possibility might include something as simple as using dowels to attach the mating pieces. That was something I seriously considered doing when I was "designing" this project.
